With two independent living areas (each with a full kitchen) the Vogel Haus can be rented individually or combined. This versatility suits many group combinations. The home was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Was perfect for our 4 family group. However, the owner Kim was very intrusive and was present in the home in her office almost every day. She called everyday for various reasons. This did make us feel very uncomfortable. I beleive if we had not been home on one ocassion that she came by she would have let herself into the home. She should be aware that even if her intentions were very innocent we had very valuable belongings there and she could be accused of stealing if we had anything go missing. If she is not comfortable renting out the home then don't.

Pioneer Ridge's management of the Vogel Haus actively involves the local owners, as they provide Haus maintenance, answer questions about the Haus, local activities, and to keep community relations. Ms. Vogel personally contacts guests on their first night as a welcome to the Valley and to answer any questions from the guests. In this case, she contacted the guests again due to a neighbor reporting the guest's children shovelling snow and debris onto their property and into the hot tub. On the previous stay, the knocks in the plumbing and the heating were addressed immediately, and the guests were offered alternative accomodations as compensation. In the end, they preferred to stay at the Vogel Haus.
The owners love sharing their downtown home with visitors, and only ask that guests respect the property during their stay. Haus policies are presented at check-in to familiarize guests with the Haus, the surrounding neighborhood, and Haus care. The Haus must comply with local regulations and are under permit, as are all vacation rentals in Steamboat Springs. We will contact guests to request compliance with these policies as part of our responsibilities under the permit and agreements with the owners. Home rentals are a wonderful way to take part in the local culture, requiring thoughtful consideration during your stay. -

Hands-down, this is a gorgeous and spacious house. Unfortunately there is a problem with the pipes that causes them to rattle and bang through the walls for 13-28 seconds every 5-8 minutes (I timed and recorded them). Annoying during the day, and infuriating at night. My husband and I did not get one good night's sleep for the four days we were there. Kim (the owner) tried to fix the problem, but claimed it had never happened before even though the guest book in the house has entries complaining of the noise as far back as 2006. For the first 1.5 days we were there we also had no heat on one side of the house. Kim was friendly enough until we asked to be compensated for our discomfort (both noise and cold), after which we did not hear from her (nor did we receive any kind of refund).
Kim is also fairly nosy, and will come to the house unannounced to make sure you have put your boots, snowboards and skis where she wants them. This is not difficult to do, and we complied, but be aware she will stop by whenever she wants. -

Our daughter was married at the top of the mountain on July 5th. We arrived on Wednesday before the wedding with our 8 grandchildren, and 5 of our children and spouses to enjoy the week before the wedding. If I could do this every year I would!!!
The house itself was a perfect set up for hide and go seek, great family dinners, intimate conversations and hosting of brunches and barbecues for our family and guests.
The location was terrific. We easily traveled into town, to the hot springs, the rodeo, the bike trail, the river ... it was perfect.
We even got to enjoy the challenge of finding how to turn the lights off and on. Thank you Kim, for turning your vacation resort into our home away from home for the week. And for making this a memorable family event. -

A large group of my friends and I wanted to meet up for some summer fun in Steamboat, and we found this gem. First of all, it sleeps a whole heap of people, especially if you rent the whole place. The best part about this house, though, is the location - just a couple blocks from all kinds of bars and restaurants, fishing, bike paths, and Howelsen Park. No need to worry about driving anywhere if you don't want to.

First and foremost, the service provided by Pioneer Ridge upon checkin was extremely helpful. The checkin process was thorough, yet only took a few minutes.
The Vogel house was PERFECT! The exterior of the house is gorgeous and there was plenty of parking for 5 cars/trucks. When we first stepped into the house we knew it was perfect. The home is perfectly furshished and has a ton of room to accommodate large groups. The hot tub is kind of in a weird location near the alley, but it was hot and ready for use. The house was nicely prepared with clean sheets, towels and dishes. Outside patio with grill was perfect for our group to cook food and hang out.
The location of the Vogel house is amazing...could not be better! The house is located one block from Lincoln, just blocks from food, drinks and shopping. Only a 15 minute drive to the resort or a 2 minute walk to the shuttle. Can't beat this location!

We had a fantastic stay in Steamboat, the Vogel Haus was incredible. Just off mainstreet, we were able to walk to all kinds of resturants, shops and bars. The House was huge with everything you would want or need.
