Traveled with 9 adults and stayed at Brown bear chalet. The home is just as awesome as pictures. Spacious yet warm and cozy. Moving mountains staff and shuttle drivers were extremely helpful and attentive

The service we received from Gisela, Raul, Jason and Tony was superb! Every meal was fantastic and the way they presented it was superb!
The location of the Chalet was convenient to everything and the fact that the staff provided transportation at our "beck and call" made it even easier.
From the first day we felt like we were right at home with Gisela and the guys. The kids loved the cookies and hot chocolate and the attention at their meal, etc. This made the Mother's vacation a dream.
There is no one thing to point out that we liked best, the whole vacation was perfect.

15 members of my family including young grandchildren just returned from a vacation of a lifetime. Actually, this was the second time we have enjoyed a vacation of a lifetime thanks to the professional staff of Moving Mountains and the excellent lodging at the Bears Chalet. The food was above fantastic, the chalet staff treated us like royalty and no need or want went unnoticed. Transportation to and from the lifts and anywhere we wanted to venture, beautiful location and class a accommodations all contributed to a relaxing, stress-free ski vacation which is a huge accomplishment especially with 7 children age 8 and younger.
Tony, Britta and Jason will be missed by all of us not only for their professionalism but also for their friendship. Thank you also to Elisabeth, Sarah and alex who made this wonderful family time possible.Response from Moving Mountains - 04/04/2013

From our 86 year old matriarch who appreciated the elevator and the chance to have her whole family in the same beautiful house -- to the four- and eight-year olds in our fourth generation who were in seventh heaven playing in the hot tub and learning to play pool from their uncle -- our entire family gives the Black Bear and Brown Bear combination a five star rating. It made our family gathering in Steamboat Springs really special.

Our special thanks for a week of perfection... to all of you but especially to our crew of Karen, Raul and Michael. We felt that we were visiting relatives( albeit, with different accents)! The meals were delicious. We loved the oatmeal pancakes and the elk! You were all amazing, from dawn til way after dusk. You rolled with all the different scenarios that a large crowd can bring and made it a great vacation. Thank you, thank you, thank you! If you're ever in our area, please give us a call. We have guest rooms and food(not as good as yours).
The Bear chalets were beautiful and comfortable for our large crowd. The hot tubs, pool tables and games were big hits with us, as well as the cozy beds with great sheets. Loved the steam showers, robes and slippers. I didn't take mine off the whole week! That's a vacation. First trip with this group that I didn't go to the grocery everyday!

We had a small management (9 members) meeting at the home. The home's layout and amenities provided plenty of options for meetings and bonding. The huge kitchens were great for everyone to participate in the cooking. The home is great! Perfect for what we needed.

Not much to stay other than the entire experience was a good as it could be. The combined houses were perfect in their set-up, the fully equipped kitchen, the bedding, etc and the Moving Mountains staff could not have been more friendly and efficient.

From airport transfers to gourmet meals it was a perfect vacation for our 17 family members, including 8 grandchildren, 6 who have never skied. We opted for the full-service catered pakage which was the best vacation decision we have ever made. Beautiful chalets, transportation to the ski lifts and ski school, waking to the smell of coffee brewing and breakfast cooking, snacks in the afternoon, gourmet dinners, grocery shopping attended to, lift tickets purchased, ski school and daycare arranged: all that was left for our family to do was relax and ski! And that we did. Plus we enjoyed hot tubs in the evening, took hikes through the woods, told stories around the dinner table, and most importantly had time to be with the family rather than shopping, cooking and cleaning. Our family travels extensively and is not an easy group to impress. However, each of us are still talking about this perfect vacation, thanks to Moving Mountains. Trust me on this: you can not find a more comfortable vacation lodging nor a more efficient, professional and friendly company than the Bear Chalets and the Moving Mountains' staff. Their saying is true: we arrived as guests and left as friends.

Everything about the house was spectacular. We had 19 in our family group and used both sides of the Bear Chalet. The kitchen was stocked with the appropriate dishes and serving dishes for large groups. The chalet was beautifully decorated, but not that you were worried that the children would break things. Exceptional bathrooms with large thick towels, and bathrobes and slippers! The management company made check in a breeze, and for the few problems we had were right on it with professional people who could fix the problem.

Our extended family (8 adults/5 kids) rented Bears Combined for 5 nights and loved every minute of it. We were celebrating my Mom's 82nd birthday in the mountains.
We were so glad we chose Moving Mountains and Bears Chalet. Their prep with us was great and the beautiful house was perfect when we arrived. The staff was always available to us to answer questions and to provide ideas on what to do in Steamboat in the summer.
The house layout was wonderful and having both sides allowed for nice separation from the kids when needed. Having the elevator for our Mom was key since the house is at about 8,000 ft elevation.
The highlight of the week was the Personal Chef dinner prepared by a great local chef in our own kitchen while we watched and learned about cooking. The kids had a great chicken dinner out on the deck and the adults had a fabulous grilled salmon meal served to us in our dining room. Our Mom was completely overwhelmed by how great her birthday dinner experience was.
Overall, Great house + Great staff + Great location = Great vacation (and isn't that what the goal always is)

Our vacation at the Bears Chalet was exceptional. The level of service that Moving Mountains provided was amazing and exeeded our expectations. The home was magnificant...the pictures on the web dont even do it justice. The home was cozy yet luxurious. We loved the steam shower and the well appointed kitchen. We also loved the option of having a private chef as well.

Moving Mountains has fabulous chalets. We stayed in the Brown/Black Bear and the Creekside chalets and they all were beautiful, lots of floor-ceiling windows for lovely vistas, kitchens were huge and beautiful, bedrooms and baths were beautiful and had lovely amenities, staff very helpful and courteous.

We stayed in both the black and brown chalets with a very large group. From begining to end the staff was accomidating to our needs and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Both chalets were beautiful and were perfect for a big group of people. The shuttle service was excellent and made it easy for us as a group to go to the mountain or even around town. Overall this was the best vacation rental experience I have ever had. I will stay there again next time I am in Steamboat.

We thought that the pictures looked too good to be true but the Bear Chalets takes your breath away. With 8 guest rooms in the combined property it was so perfect for all of us. What we saved by not going ski-in/ski-out was enough to pay for a caterer for the week which the lodging company (Moving Mountains) provides. 1-minute journeys to the lift were as convenient as any ski-in place that we have stayed in and had to hike to our lodging.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bear Chalets very much! This duplex property is beautiful and large. We rented the entire building -- both sides -- and enjoyed the ability to easily move between the sides on two levels. With 8 bedrooms plus, it can handle a large group easily (we had 24). The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and well supplied, right down to the bathrobes and slippers! And the kitchens have everything you could need, including two dishwashers each. The two elevators were a big help for the older members in our group, as well as during check-in and check-out. The management team was very responsive to our needs, promptly reconfiguring bedrooms as requested. We've received lots of positive comments from our family members who stayed there, and we think this great facility was a big part of that.
