Description from the owner
This jewel box of a cabin is petite and perfect, a cozy retreat for honeymooners, and ideal for small families as well. The cabin is nestled on four wooded acres, just one mile to Stowe village, and eight miles to Mt. Mansfield and skiing. This Stowe vacation rental is beautifully decorated with antler chandeliers, hand loomed rugs, custom draperies, and antique and period furniture. No detail has been overlooked in making this Vermont cabin rental comfortable and charming, luxurious yet rustic. Guests often mention our attention to detail as one of the many reasons their stay at Goldilocks exceeded their expectations.

long island, Nyamazing! loved this cabin
Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in January 2012
I know I reviewed this place on rental websites but I figured why not on here too? anyway so for years I'd known about this cabin and always have wanted to go to Vermont. we finally planned a trip and went in January. I loved not only the cabin but the town of Stowe. basically this trip was so amazing for us I think it's what really made us want to get engaged too which happened only a few months after this trip :) went on a sleigh ride, ate great food, got to snuggle by the fire, and just what a cute cabin. of course great skiing is over there for anyone who is into that. I can't wait to go back one day. I can safely say Vermont was one of my favorite vacations ever. also when I forgot my laptop charger they were nice enough to mail it to me :)

We wanted a 'Home" away from home. It had everything we could have wished for, was clean, comfortable, well appointed and tastefully decorated. The new adirondack style chairs were a pleasure.
This was our first trip to Stowe, Vt. and the location was handy to the town but in the country. -

We stayed at Goldilocks Cabin for 2 nights in July. We are a family of 5 and it was perfect. The cabin has everything you could need for a family get away. The kitchen is well stocked, there are 2 TVs, a washer and dryer and 2 beautiful decks to sit on and relax! We all slept comfortably with the loft space and the master bedroom with a pull out sofa. It is very close to town and all that Stowe has to offer! We had a wonderful time and would love to stay here again on another trip to Stowe.

I would whole heartedly recommend Goldilocks to anyone and everyone! It completely exceeded our expectations! This wonderfully decorated cabin was so comfortable and cozy. It is nestled in the woods but just up the road from the main streets of Stowe...perfect! I wish I could live there year round! I can't wait to return!

New York, NYThe best xmas holiday...
Left on 12/28/2010 for a stay in December 2010
We can't thank you enough for allowing us to spend our xmas in your cabin. It will definitely be a holiday to remember for years to come. And what a wonderful cabin it is...so cozy, comfy, and beautifully decorated. The cabin provided everything we could possibly need in the kitchen, bathrooms, etc. The location was perfect also, as we were able to get around town so easily and quickly. I loved that I was able to bring my golden retriever with us to enjoy our time. We look forward to coming back soon to spend another vacation in Goldilocks.

MassachusettsThe One Thing I Won't Change
Left on 10/04/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Some time ago, I saw photos of Goldilocks cabin on a vacation website and made up my mind -- one day, I was going to stay there. It's now three years later, and I've just returned from my first visit to Goldilocks. Let me tell you -- it was worth the wait. At just a mile outside of "downtown" Stowe, the location is perfect. The inside decor is great (very Vermont with a number of elegant touches), and the cabin is extremely well-equipped for everything from dinner for 2, to an after-ski party for a crowd. They even had a hair dryer, which took the sting out of me forgetting to bring my own. Sometimes when you come back from a vacation, you know what you'll change the next time. For me, it's going to be my traveling companion, not working the morning of my first vacation day, and leaving earlier in the day so I can get to VT while it's still light out. But there's one thing I won't change -- I will always want to stay at Goldilocks.

OttawaCozy, Quiet Cabin
Left on 08/09/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We spent a wonderful, relaxed week here with our children this summer. Goldilocks is in a perfect, quiet location, just outside the 'hustle & bustle' of downtown Stowe. The town is accesible in minutes, but you feel as if you are out in the woods at this beautiful cabin - we even met Bambi on our first look out the back deck! Details were so welcoming - right down to lovely potted flowers on the front porch...we knew immediately we would be 'at home'.

What an amazing vacation! My family and I rented Goldilocks the day after Christmas through New Year's. It was absolutely magical! Goldilocks is so charming! The owner is fabulous to deal with. She has done an amazing decorating job! We enjoyed fabulous days at the mountain, but couldn't wait to get back to Goldilocks in the evening. My 6 year old daughter and black lab loved exploring the area surrounding the cabin - there was so much snow while we were there. Also, there is a fabulous sledding hill just down the road and loads of sights to see. I highly recommend this magical getaway. Many thanks Jill! We will be visiting again!

Goldilocks is one of those places that as you approach it, you smile, and as soon as you walk-in, you breathe a sigh. It is absolutely charming and more than lives up to the image of "romantic cabin in the woods." We desperately needed a winter reprieve and went up for just a few days. The cabin is fully equipped, very comfortable and cozy. Our stay replenished our souls, restored our spirits and put life back in perspective.. that is the power of Goldilocks! Even now, when we want to de-stress, we summon up images of Goldilocks and skate skiing through the trails at Stowe. Winter or summer - we'd go again. Perfect!

north stonington, ctthe cozy cottage in Stowe, Vermont
Left on 03/24/2010 for a stay in March 2010
We stayed at Goldilocks with our two toy breed pups and have nothing but positive things to say about it.
It was clean, comfortable, charming, well equipped, and lacked nothing essential that we needed. It was also situated in a pleasant location, minutes by car from downtown Stowe but not right in the hub bub.
Jill Evarts, the owner, was very responsive to our questions and concerns and readily available by phone.
We highly recommend staying at this quaint little spacious cottage. -

Left on 01/06/2010 for a stay in December 2009
We rented Goldilocks Cabin for Christmas 2007 and went back again this Christmas (2009). This charming cabin is so cozy and comfortable and has such wonderful designer touches. The homeowner provides so many extra amenities, too, and has thought of all the things a renting family would need. The woodstove provides a special touch for those of us renting during the winter season. Stowe has so much to offer with its excellent restaurants and quaint shops, but it's still nice to go back to Goldilocks at the end of a long (and cold) afternoon. For those of you traveling with man's best friend, be sure to check out The Quiet Path off Cemetery Road. It's an excellent off-leash doggy park. Remember, Goldilocks Cabin is pet friendly! (Thanks, Jill.) Enjoy!

This is our second time at Goldilock’s Cabin. My two boys, ages 9 & 7, and I went up to spend our Thanksgiving there. The cabin is so sweet and charming that it seems to have an enchanted quality about it. From the rustic hardwood floors, to the comfy seating, to the cuckoo clock and wood stove.. I could see how it could be a romantic place to be, but for me and my children, it was a warm and wonderful place to spend some quality family time together.
Goldilock’s Cabin is clean and orderly and provides comfort and familiarity alongside all of the excitement and adventure that Stowe has to offer.
It’s a great place to get away from it all… leave your goals behind and assume the perspective of a child.

Left on 11/25/2009 for a stay in November 2009
The perfect get away! Goldilocks is the retreat we all need to experience, the
cabin is immaculate with no detail left unattended, the decor is superb with
the feeling of home you can't escape. The amenities it has to offer with the
wood stove, stainless appliances, washer dryer, walking distance to downtown
and nature surrounding you makes your departure a hard thing to come to
terms with. Perfect for a romantic weekend or for a family to ski, hike, bike,
relax and be family again. So much to do and enjoy in this area and to end
your days at Goldilocks makes you feel like you are living the fairy tale. -

The cottage was ideal for our needs. The interior
decoratons and furnishings were outstanding. The owner was most accommodating to our requests and inquiries. The location met our needs for day trips to areas of interest in Vermont. We would recommend this cottage to all interested
parties.
The only negative aspect was the 1500+ miles of driving to get there from Missouri. -

We arrived in mid Feb everywhere was covered in a deep white blanket of snow. The cottage looked lke heaven and once inside it felt like heaven (i assume) really lovly. The wifi was a big plus for us and it was decoratted with throught and taste. Trouble was we did not want to leave are sking normally starts about 9am on the mountian, but we found ourselves not arriving until 11am. It was special 2 people is perfect with room to breath and enjoy. Anymore is possible but would give some issues as the second bed is a loft which needs to be entered via a steep ladder and the less nimble would struggle.
All in all we loved it and as we love Stowe anyway will be back again.
