The condo was wonderful, the booking hassle free and the owner was very welcoming.
The location is great, and the giant 3D TV is a ton of fun! We were impressed with the supplied DVD collection, the books and the games. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped.
My family had a great week, and we definitely want to go back.Response from Leslie Eiser - 11/20/2012

I loved the Theater in the Woods in Stowe Vt. I would definitely stay there again. It was so clean and I loved the kitchen and porch. The staff was very helpful and the condo was well equiped with everything that you possibly need. I also loved the fact that the owner made up a book of all activities in the area and rated her favorite places. It was very enjoyable.

montville, njFantastic family vacation
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We had a wonderful time in Stowe & found the Theatre in the Woods to be perfect for us in every way. We had beautiful weather every day, enjoyed the bike path each morning (the kids especially loved the corn maze with its baby cows & goats, and the farmers market), hiked the Nose to Chin on Mt Mansfield, hiked & swam at Bingham Falls, rode the alpine Slide, visited Burlington (the waterfront, Church St & had dinner at the Vt Pub & Brewery), golfed the executive course at Stoweflake (perfect for the kids!) & the mini golf course, and of course, a lot of visits to Ben & Jerry's. The kids also loved the pool, as I think all kids do! The location is really perfect. Favorite food spots were Cactus Cafe, the Blue Donkey & Piecasso.
All in all, it was perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful spot with us!!

I agree totally - Stowe is the best family place in the world. So much do do. And I'm completely impressed that you guys did the hike from Nose to Chin - that's just so much fun (and so weather dependent!). Leslie

PlymouthA/C not really "central"
Left on 08/14/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I do not recommend staying in the Theater In The Woods during the hot months of the summer. Daytime highs were in the upper 80's and low 90's during our stay in late July. We selected this unit because it advertised itself as having central a/C. While the condo claims to have central a/C it is not what I considered central a/C to be. The a/C unit is a large unit in the wall of the living room. This keeps the main living areas very comfortable but does not cool the bedrooms. There are no a/C vents in the bedrooms so when the doors are closed it gets warm. There are ceiling fans in 2 of the 3 bedrooms which help. The 3rd bedroom has no ceiling fan and only a single crank out window that opens onto the porch.. The 2 beds in that room are on a single elevated L- shaped platform with the twin mattresses touching at the base of the L. Make sure if those 2 twin mattresses are both occupied that the people don't mind touching one another.
The kitchen sink/dishwasher have a funky hot water mechanism that requires you to push a button inside a door 5 minutes ahead of time if you want hot water. The signage about this is not readily noticeable and it took a day before we figured it out.
We had trouble with the fire alarm in the master bedroom going off if we opened the bathroom door after taking a shower, even though we had the vent fan on. This happened 2 days in a row so we unplugged the smoke detector to stop it and reconnected it when we left.
Not to sound all negative we loved the large screened porch. This condo has the best lighting of any condo we have ever stayed in. You can read anywhere in any room. The kitchen is well supplied. The bedrooms do not have closets but do have dressers with drawers. The master bedroom has a small wardrobe where clothes can be hung up. The other good qualities of the condo are mentioned in the other reviews.

Owner
We've had the hottest summer ever - and even our massively oversized A/C had challenges keeping up - so I'm really pleased to hear that it managed to keep the main living areas cool - that must have been difficult. We have fans (not just ceiling fans either) available to help air circulation - but this summer, as everyone is probably well aware, was amazing. I'm glad to hear that every thing else was great - just a quick note about the instant hot water heater. Having one means unlimited hot water - but the hot water does have to get there - and surely unlimited showers is worth a tiny wait. Glad to hear the porch was the best - I have to say it's a highlight for me as well. Thanks for the feedback, Leslie

Our family of 5 (3 children ages 6 - 13) stayed at "Theatre in the Woods” during Christmas break. It truly was a wonderful vacation. What made our vacation so wonderful were the accommodations and location! "Theatre in the Woods” had all the modern comforts and amenities of home. In addition to having the greatest bedding, kitchen accessories and washer and dryer, the condo was pristine. This condo is one of the nicest --if not the nicest--condo in the development. In terms of location, the condo is centrally located, and convenient to everything. We had a wonderful stay and plan on renting "Theatre in the Woods” again!

MississippiGreat Trip!
Left on 02/22/2011 for a stay in February 2011
This was our first trip skiing on the east coast and definitely will not be our last. We absolutely loved Stowe and the Theatre in the Woods. The condo was so homey and comfy and newly and nicely decorated. We didn't get a chance to sit out on the screened in porch due to the time of the year, but I can only imagine how wonderful it would be in spring, summer or fall. One of the best parts of the trip was how much the owner helped us out with tips, suggestions for skiing, dining and other things to do is Stowe. It really helped out in us enjoying this great vacation spot!

Left on 02/07/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Made our way by car from new york to Stowe for a weeks skiing with 3 adults and 1 teenager. On arrival the condo was very clean and well presented. Leslie the owner was a real gem with loads of useful info and a real interest in making our stay memorable. The condo had plenty of room for our needs and the heating was perfect considering the outside temperature. The ski resort was only 5minutes away by car, although there is a bus service to the mountain. The drive to the mountain, parking, buying lift pass and getting on the lifts has to be the most relaxed experience ever, when compared to the hassel we put ourselves through when skiing in Europe. We skied Monday to Friday and most days there was no queueing to get onto the lifts, what a pleasure. Went to Burlington about 40minutes away for shopping mainly. The staff at the mountainside resort are very friendly and they will give you Dvds and a sledge FOC for your stay. The pool and sauna facilities on site are a little dated but still great for relaxing after a days sking. Plenty of good restaurants nearby but if you decide to stay in, the kitchen is well equipped and with the fire on and a movie, there was never any complaints.

Left on 09/22/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We stayed at the Theatre in the Woods for 1 week in late august. We were 4 adults and 4 kids and we had a great time. The children really enjoyed the screened in porch/deck and so did we; it let the adults sleep in as they played there. The kitchen was fully loaded, which, when feeding 8 people, was extremely appreciated. The pool was used daily, as it rained most of our time there. What a vacation saver that was! We also enjoyed many a movie on the wide screen tv nightly. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return if we ever vacation in Stowe again.

We had a great time in Stowe! Weather was great. We hiked, biked, and kayaked the week away. We also enjoyed the amenities at the condo complex. We swam in the pool, played tennis and basketball. The condo was clean and comfortable. The porch was spacious quiet space that I loved to enjoy with my coffee each morning. We would love to return sometime!

We had the most magical experience when we stayed at Theatre in the Woods Stowe. It snowed so much that we could not get the car out. We walked with the family to the closest restaurant and thankfully they were still operating.
The place is amazing. wonderfully decorated and fully equipped. Could not have wanted for anything. Recommend it highly. -

DESledding and Skiing!
Left on 06/10/2010 for a stay in March 2009
Theatre in the Woods was wonderful! Leslie was such a great host in
offering dining recommendations and responding to every question! My
husband loved watching sports on the big tv and my daughter loved
having the Mac computer in "her" room. We came for
skiing/snowboarding and loved it. Woke to fresh powder on Sunday-what
a surprise for spring skiing. The kids enjoyed sledding right out
back and we could watch from the porch. Nice to be able to walk to
the hot tub and pool after a day on the slopes. Trails are nice and
long at Mount Mansfield and enjoyed the restaurant at Spruce
Peak-much better than just burgers and dogs!
We enjoyed the restaurants we went to-The Shed, Pie in the Sky and
Cactus Cafe(good pork enchiladas and ribs!).
We would definitely visit again.

Our family loved our stay at Theater in The Woods!!! The unit was
updated and very clean. The screened in porch with the porch swing
was wonderful, especially on rainy days! The design of the unit is
efficient in its use of space - the three bedrooms were great!.
Everything that we needed was provided - nice towels, kitchenware,
board games, books etc. The pool and hot tub at the resort were clean
and very well maintained. Leslie is a pleasure to deal with and the
owners obviously put a lot of love and care into this property.

Clean and nice amenities. Close to the mountain and
other attractions. Service at the resort was helpful
when needed. The pool & hot tub were nice &
uncrowded while we were there. The atmosphere
outside was not what I expected, but that was true
for all of Stowe Village.
