We enjoyed our stay at First Bend River Cabin. It was very quite and secluded. The fact that it had snowed made it even more peaceful. We had no problems dealing with the Stowe Country Homes Office personnel.
Our only complaint is that we could not enjoy the wood burning stove because there was no kindling available as indicated. The cabin opening up and shutting down instructions should be more organized. -

We were looking for a place to get away from it all, and First Bend River Cabin was perfect for our long weekend break. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and fully equipped, with fantastic natural light in the kitchen and a lovely view from the living room and patio over the river and countryside. We really enjoyed the hot tub, which was in pristine condition, and the great collection of music and reading material. The cabin is on a backwoods road which is quite accessible but extremely quiet and peaceful. It's the sort of place to go if you are tired of the city and need to unwind. However, Stowe is only 15 mins or so away, and there is plenty to do in the area. As with everyone we've met in Vermont, the people at Stowe Country Homes are extremely friendly and helpful, and the service we received was excellent. We would go back in a heartbeat!

A wonderful cabin to go to in order to relax and chill. A quiet location with plenty of room to roam around and enjoy the beaautiful surroundings. A remote place to go to get away from it all, yet close enough to Stowe to mae it easy to shop and dine.

My wife and I were very please with the House itself. Also the price was very resonable when compared to some of the other facilities in the area. We actually narrowed our search down to two places in the area. The first propery we inquired about (completely different agency) we felt as if we were being brushed off. When we contacted Stowe Rentals Properties about the First River Bend Cabin our message promptly returned during the next business day. Over the course of our planning we found that staff was very friendly and willing to answer any of our questions. The only knock that I can say about the stay was that the hot tub was not cleaned prior to our arrival. Once we cleaned it everything else was wonderful. My wife and I will never forget our stay in Vermont and the First River Bend Cabin is a great part of those memories.

The cabin is situated above the river with a view that takes in the meandering river and the mountains in the distance. Since it is the last cabin on the road you can stay a week and not see another car. There are great trails for hiking. We especially enjoyed the walk into Hyde park each morning for coffee at Sweet Crunch. All great for a relaxing week.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the house. The house was beautiful, clean, and well kept. We would only recommend more lighting for the bedrooms.

I definitely recommend this rental if you are looking for a peaceful weekend. Very secluded with a great mountain-view ...stepping out onto the back deck feels like you just stepped into a painting. The property management company, stowe country homes, who handle the rentals and take care of the cabin were q pleasure to deal with and were very accommodating. This is a great place for couples-very romantic. All you need to bring with you is your clothes, some food (they actually stock the cabin with cooking oil, spices, some condiments, etc. so check it out before you go shopping), and bathing suits for the hot tub ( suits are definitely optional in this remote location. We will definiely be coming back to stay this winter. It was great in September with the leaves changing, so I'm sure its amazing in the snow.

This house is nestled on the side of a beautiful mountain with breathtaking views. The cabin is warm, inviting and very well equipped with everything a person needs to get away and relax. Our dog loved the long walks in the woods and the quiet nights snuggling with us while watching movies and listening to music. A great escape from the stress of life. There are many shops and tourist attractions within 15-30 minutes of the cabin. We'll be visiting again!
