This charming four bedroom cape, at the end of a quiet Stowe Hollow road, has sweeping views of Mt. Mansfield and the surrounding mountains. Light and bright, the inviting living room features wide pine floors, comfortable seating and a fireplace. A family room on the lower level has a stove and large screen TV. The large country kitchen, with brand new stainless appliances, is open to the dining room which seats six to eight. The queen master bedroom features a brand new private bathroom and air conditioning. Imagine waking up to this frosty view of Mt. Mansfield. Although not necessary, AWD is recommended during winter months.

We rented this house for 4 months from June through October in 2013. My wife and I had just retired. We have stayed here for much shorter periods as vacations, so we were familiar with the house. It is very peaceful and quiet with a wonderful view to the west from the front porch. It is a mile up a steep dirt road, so less desirable in the in winter months. The house is not fancy, but neat and clean with lots of room with 4 bedrooms for visitors. There is nothing finer than sitting with a cup of coffee in front of the fireplace. The owner always leaves plenty of wood. The kitchen is simple, but it has everything you need. Using the dehumidifier does truly help to keep the basement level dry and comfortable. This is a great place to enjoy all that Stowe has to offer. The owner is genuinely helpful and eager to make your stay a good one.
A great home with steep drive

This home was spacious and very well kept. The only issue is the driveway and the road up to it which you will need four wheel drive if there is snow on the ground.

The over all stay was very good. The only negitive that our group had was the moldy musty smell that we encountered in the basement. The down stairs rec room was not used, and the person sleeping in the basement, had the windows in the bedroom open to allow fresh air in and the musty oder out. We would stay again but we would want some guarantee that the basement musty smell problem has been corrected. Also the property descri[ption needs to be corrected as the jacuzzi has been removed from the master bedroom. Read more
This is one of our most popular homes with multiple repeat guests. Upon receipt of the basement mustiness comment, management went to the home, but could not find any such musty smell (noting that Vermont basements do occasionally become humid when there is a lot of rain). Notwithstanding, the owner has provided a dehumidifier in the basement in case there is any such future mustiness. As to the jacuzzi comment, there is now a gorgeous brand new master bathroom where the prior jacuzzi was located.
What a big beautiful cosy house!

The 10 of us slept comfortably here, and we had a
really good time! The house was huge, the furnishing
was great, and the ambiance so warm and cosy. The
dining table was even large enough to accomodate all
of us. The fireplace was certainly an added bonus
The only downside was, when we arrived there, the
basement heating was not working, but a technician
came to fix it the next day and all was well after
To sum it up, we would certainly stay here again if
we ever came back to Stowe =)
