I rented this house for 3 days. The house was nice and locations was nice. But:. . . . When I arrived the driveway was almost all ice. The walkway to the house was not shoveled real well and no rock salt or sand was put down to prevent people like my wife who is pregnant from slipping. This should be something that Stow Country homes should have noticed and addressed.
Second they apparently just replaced the well and never informed anyone that the water in the house was was full of sediment. I would have thought that stow country homes would have let us know or at least put some water in the house that was usable such as bottles or a big jug for common curtsy. On all the toilets, showers and sinks they were all brown and gross from the sediment in the water. When I got out of the shower my feet would leave prints on the floor matt and the towel I dried off with was also covered in film. So i guess I got dirtier taking a shower.
The home owner i guess lives at this property until someone rents it and when he/she leaves they don't do a full proper cleaning of the house. So when someone rents the house it is very dusty general things were picked up but not cleaned that well. But I had to pay for a cleaning so when the homeowners came back they got a clean place I paid for. When I rent a house I expect it to be as clean as when I got it but in this case it was cleaner when I left it. There was so much dust on the tables and piano I could write my name on them and see it from across the house.
Third I emailed Stowe country home about how dissatisfied I was and not one person called me back to apologize. No response at all. Two different emails. This is why I will never rent from Stow Country homes again. They don't have the care that most all other rental companies have. The house is nice the location is nice if there was a better company managing this rental it would be idea. I don't think I am asking for much for the cost you pay.

We had an amazing vacation in this incredibly beautiful home. We loved the pond, the view of the mountains, the babbling brook by the house and the veggie garden. The kitchen is well stocked and the porch a haven. The house does have one stunning and luxurious master suite; the rest of the sleeping accommodations are just okay (we had four families at a reunion). If not for this one tiny equity issue, we'd be begging to come back every year! We still might, since it was so truly truly peaceful.
