We loved the house and Stowe Country Homes was wonderful to work with. The house was spotless and all the details had been addressed - there was plenty of firewood, including kindling, inside, the heat was on when we arrived, and there was a helpful welcome packet (along with some yummy fudge!).
As other reviewers noted, the kitchen was extremely well-appointed. We cooked all our meals for the extended weekend and the the only criticism of the kitchen is that the knives are dull.
The house is advertised as having 2 queen suites and 2.5 baths, but it's actually 3 full baths (one does have only a shower), and the upstairs bath is in the hallway. For our group, 3 couples, this was perfect. We had been a little concerned that the upstairs bath would be off someone's bedroom, making those middle of the night bathroom visits a long walk for someone!
The living room area was great - roomy enough for 6 adults to lounge comfortably around the fire. And the oversize dining room table was perfect for meals, games and cards. It was large enough that a puzzle could have been left in progress at one end with room left for dining.
We loved our trip and would absolutely rent this house again. It is a bit of a drive to the ski area but for those looking to enjoy the other aspects of the area, it's a terrific value. -

The home was cozy and nice -- the large dining table and open layout were great. We did have two issues. One was with the hot water and water pressure. Management was quick to send some to address the problem but the water temperature of the upstairs bathroom was still variable afterwards. Also, information provided indicated that the long, steep driveway would be plowed but it was not. The number provided to contact the plowing service was incorrect and it took some effort to find the correct number. However, the driveway was cleared and well-sanded early the next morning before we needed to head out. In the future, I would appreciate that basics like water pressure and temperature be checked prior to us checking in. All in all, I would stay again.

An extremely well-equipped kitchen and an industrial-strength fireplace get above average marks for this chalet. Stowe Country Homes were really helpful, courteous and friendly. A serious drawback, however, is the hot water system. It is insufficient for for 6 adults. The heating system is uneven (stifling hot in the small bedroom downstairs) needs adjustment (control in each room of the radiant baseboards?). Finally, a good night's sleep in the master suite would really be nice but the mattress is of extremely poor quality.

The house was in a perfect location with mountain views and cathedral ceilings. Everything was clean and in order when we arrived; the house is fully equipped, including a coffee grinder (another cutting board would be nice though).
The rental price was a bit steep considering the season (not leaf peeping and before winter), and the $225 "cleaning" fee is a bit steep for two nights, but all in all an excellent company and property, and we would rent it again -

We loved the home and location. It is a place for relaxing as well as entertaining. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the experience. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
