      A home away from home.

Left on 05/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012

This was the second time that we have stayed at Bennan House and was even better than before, think the weather had a bit to do with it aswell.
Arrived with family and also close friends.
The accomodation was spotless same as before. Great spacious kitchen for us all to sit down for a meal and also a seperate table for the kids to have there own space. Lounge was great with the open fire and again spacious enough for us all to sit down comfy for the evening. Kids spent most of the time in the game room playing with the toys already there and also the air hockey table, which the adults played more than the kids. The garden is great for us to sit outside and kids can run about on the grass. The housekepper also owns the horses nearby which they let the kids feed and also let them ride the ponys and horses. Very friendly and welcoming people who are also there for questions and just a chat. The little village of Straiton is very welcoming and people stop for a chat. Very good hill walks right on the doorstep and also very good golf courses a short drive away. The communcation from the owner Richard is second to none, and nothing ever seems a hassle. I dont have anything that i dont like about Bennan House and will reccomend this to everyone.

Escape for a week to the calm of a country village

Left on 05/01/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We spent a wonderful week with our extended family, friends and three dogs over Easter. I can't rate the welcome from the owner highly enough. He was so helpful and took extra care that we should have everything we wanted. Quite frankly how he does it for the price is beyond me.
We normally go for the wilds of the far Northwest of Scotland but this is a wonderful village with everything close at hand.
If you're looking for an action-packed adventure holiday then this might not be the place for you but if you want to unwind, letting your cares slip away walks in super countryside, or in the conservation village right from the doorstep then it can't be beaten.
