Strathcarron is a pretty little hamlet amongst the spectacular scenery of Wester Ross and in the middle of the village, this attractive property (completed in 2006) overlooks the green with views out to Loch Carron and the mountains. Finished to a high standard, this spacious house is exceptionally well appointed and comfortable with a bright, warm and tastefully decorated interior. There is a safely enclosed garden with barbecue and garden furniture. The property is suitable for visitors in wheelchairs with full ramp access with and a ground floor bedroom and bathroom.

This cottage was lovely - comfortable, well decorated with good quality fittings and was well situated beside a very friendly pub/hotel in a nice wee village. The surrounding area had plenty to interest a wide variety of travellers.

The house was very comfortable, with excellent facilities to cope with a holiday in all weathers.You could truly relax here as everything worked so well,and if you wished to use them, there is a pub, shop and train on your doorstep!

The house was far better than we anticipated. The lounge is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is large and very well equipped, we enjoyed our evenings there cooking and eating at the large farmhouse table. The bedrooms were excellent and we all slept well. Being with friends we found it useful to have two bathrooms (one with bath and the other with shower).
All in all we could find no fault with the accomodation. We were sorry to move onto the next sets of accomodation on our tour of Scotland.
Its location suited us very well. From the house there were more than enough excusions to fill the week. We went by train alongside Lochcarron. We went to appllecross across a wonderfully high pass. We went to Skye and local gardens. The house had several guidebooks with excellent walks we could follow.The neraby pub had good food. We used the bikes to ride along the flat road that runs up the valley.
We found all the local residents to be very friendly- they went out of their way to talk to us and give us information.
The weather was generally good- we only had one poor day and that we spent in Plockton where we found good food and an open fire in the local hotel. We then found the utily room excellent for drying our clothes.
All in all a great place to holiday.
We all agreed we would be happy to return for another holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this house, it had everything we needed to make it home from home, even 2 bikes to use although my husband had to buy a new inner tube but that was no problem! Very comfortable and very convenient for the pub/hotel restaurant opposite which we used every day. I also cooked and found everything I needed in the kitchen even to cook a roast dinner! We watched the Royal wedding on the tv and felt like we were in our own home. We would defintley recommend this house and would stay again if we go back to this part of Scotland. On the minus side the cleaner admitted she had not washed the kitchen floor and I felt the house needed a blitz through of cleaning nooks and crannies but it did not detract from our stay.

This is one of our most popular properties. The property owners have spoken to Mrs Goodhind and are grateful for the feedback. On this occasion the cleaning may have been a little rushed as a result of Mrs Goodhind's early arrival.
