Description from the owner
Situated at Dilhso 5 minutes from Nea Styra. Just 150 m up hill from a secluded beach of sand and shingle in its own delightful gardens is our lovely house. First house on the left in picture below. The house consists of a ground floor that is built back into the hillside with low ceilings affording a cool retreat. Here is a sitting area, dining area, well-equipped kitchen with a full cooker and fridge freezer, and a bathroom with a corner bath. Outside is a large area paved in Karyston stone adjoining the barbecue, shaded by a pine tree and with views to the sea. The washing machine is situated under the steps that rise to the first floor ba...Read more

Additional Location Information
Evia or Euboia is the 2nd largest Greek Island. It stretches along the eastern side of the mainland and is easily accessed from Athen's International Airport. The hamlet of Diliso is a short drive from the resort of Nea Styra. It is also on the narrowest part of the island so it is easy to visit the coves on the Aegean side. The island is blessed with natural and historical interest. Of natural interest are the beaches, hills, forests, hot springs and mountains. Of historical interest are the paleolithic 'Drako Spiti', the ancient Greek port of Eretria, and the medieval fort at Karystos.
Walking in the spring and Autumn is amazing, wild flowers attract the bees from the many hives that produce the traditional Greek honey. In the Summer the beach is the place to go during the day then gather on the promenade in Nea Styra to enjoy a stroll and choose a sea-front table to enjoy the fresh food.

BrackleyAn Idyllic Retreat
Left on 05/04/2013 for a stay in September 2011
We are off to the Flower House again soon. It is one of our favourite holiday destinations. Its a perfect retreat with wonderful views & a quiet unspoilt beach but a very short drive to shops, bars & tavernas. We love the fact that there are plenty of reasonable flights to athens & once you're on the ferry to Evia you are definitely in the holiday mood.

Leamington SpaA Greek island holiday with so much to offer
Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in May 2011
If you enjoy holidays with a true local feel, then the Flower House is for you. After arriving on the island by local ferry (wonderful blue seas ans skies), you'll find yourself in the local port where you're immediately immersed in local shops and tavernas; not a high street name in site. The house sits in a quiet local (which runs down to the local beach), has a very pretty garden, good comfortable accommodation with an ample balcony around the first floor (with views of the sea beyond),for relaxing in sun or shade throughout the day; great for evening drinks too.
Plenty of local places to eat, lots of lovely small beaches and villages a bit further afield to discover.

Idyllic and refreshing
Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in May 2011
Beautiful memories of a wonderful stay in the Flower house.
Gorgeous terrace for beautiful outdoor lunches in the sun.
Luscious flower garden makes you feel like you're in paradise.
Cute small beach 1 minute walk (it's usually pretty empty and just for locals rather than tourists).
Short drive from lots of restaurants and bars.
If I was a writer I'd go and write a book sitting on the terrace staring out to the sea.
Also great place to go with friends or family.
Can't wait to go there again! -

First trip to Greece and what a wonderful place for a first taste.
This is a lovely, simple house in a stunning location. Typical day consisted of breakfast on the balcony overlooking the bay, a trip out and about on the island enjoying amazing views and simple well-cooked food; or perhaps a visit to the nearby beach followed by lunch on the balcony and a snooze in the shade of the garden. So tranquil and quiet and totally relaxing.
The house itself had everything that you needed to make your holiday comfortable. A really super place to get away from it all I can't wait to go back again. -

LondonBeautiful, restful, swimful, far from the madding crowd
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in May 2012
I spent perhaps my favourite holiday of the last five years in the flower house, up a tiny pebbly lane from a quiet beach, friendly locals, amazing smells from the wildflowers and lemons.
The house was clean and simple and had everything you'd want (including enough for cooking all meals when needed), it was a half hour wander down the beach to the nearest small town and a short drive.
Best was just how simple, un-touristy and peaceful it was, just a magic place. -

LondonRefreshing & restorative seaside getaway
Left on 03/25/2013 for a stay in May 2012
I've been visiting The Flower House with friends an family for the last 10 years. I love it. When I think of it I can feel my skin tingle like when I've spent the day in the sea breeze, I can smell the garden, hear the lap of the sea and the daily glow of orange sunsets.
The villa is simple and charming with amazing views. It quickly becomes a home, with everything you need to cook and be comfortable. The fresh food in Greece is delicious and eating on the balcony is magical.
In the cooler seasons it's a good base to walk from. In the warmer months it's the nearby sea where I spend my days.
The small town Nea Styra is a favourite spot for Greek's from athens and so the food and bars are fantastic and full of friendly Greeks.
