As a holiday destination Sucuraj is perfect for those looking for a peaceful rural setting, delicious local food, pocket friendly solutions for families and an excellent location for visiting other popular spots on the island and along the Dalmatian coastline.

Tranquil Sućuraj a picturesque small fishing town of 400 residents on the east cape of Hvar, is one of the sunniest and hottest places on the island, with more than 2700 hours of sunshine per year! The town exudes an authentic local charm and is steeped in a rich history – it was settled by the Ilyrinas, Romans, Slavs, Venetians and French. Sucuraj is even mentioned in Homer’s famous epic “Iliad” – the poet refers to the town as “Kila”.

We are well positioned with only a 5 minute walk to several beautiful beaches –from pine sheltered coves to rocky outcroppings. Also the bays of Perna and Mlaska, only 2km away from the town are unique rarities on the Adriatic Sea because of the fine sand on the bottom of the sea, which cannot be found anywhere else.

It is also possible to hire a small boat and explore the island’s diverse coastline. There are also several day trips available to nearby islands and the Makarska Riviera on the mainland – ferries to Korcula and Peninsula Peljesac.

The town centre with its attractive marina is also only a 5 minute walk away, and provides you with a choice of three small supermarkets, post office, newsagent, doctor’s surgery, local shops, several bars and family run Konoba restaurants offering local produce and wine.
