      Fantastic Cabin

Left on 02/27/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Our recent stay at the desert relief cabin was really fantastic. My kids and I really enjoyed the amenities this cabin had to offer. We defenitely would recommend this cabin to anyone interested in a small quiet and serene atmospher but with all the perks of a a home feeling.

Our time at Desert Relief was wonderfully delightful!

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We felt welcome and "at home" from the moment we got there! Desert Relief was perfect for us! It was spacious and just right for the three of us. It was so peaceful! We were refreshed! Everything was clean and well taken care of. There were plenty of dishes/glasses/flatware/pot/pans, etc. We used the gas grill two of the three nights which was very convenient. We appreciated the personal touch from the owners - the guestbook, the scrapbook of the remodel, the decorations, etc. We all said we would come back! Thank you very much for providing such a lovely place to stay in such a beautiful location!

      Good, overall, but changes needed

Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This is a nice, clean, new cabin. On the plus side, it was well stocked with dishes, a dishwasher, glasses, silverware, aluminum foil, etc. in the kitchen and dvds, books, games, etc. in the living room. The kitchen was new and very nice. The furniture was comfortable and the cabin didn't have a musty smell that you sometimes find in Big Bear cabins. Having a washer and dryer is also a big plus for families and winter guests. There's also an overpriced general store a few blocks away to get forgotten supplies.

Room for improvement includes either keeping the water heater on or letting the renter know that it is off! Four cold showers one hour before going to a wedding, we found this out. Also, I don't know why the mattresses are covered with plastic, but it made for a hot, sleepless night. And, leave the flow adjusters off of the shower. Guests just want to take a shower, not jack up your water and electric bills. Also, the louver door on one of the bathrooms should be changed. No one wants to hear someone else in the bathroom. And, the TV is too small for the living room. The towels are pathetically thin. Finally, guests should be warned that major construction is going on in the street in front of the house. Since we were there on the weekend, we only experienced a little of it on Friday. But, if we had rented it for weekdays, we wouldn't have stayed there.

I've been a landlord for years and I know that it's hard to please everyone. However, inexpensive changes would have changed my rating from 3 stars to 5. Overall, though, it was fairly priced, and a good experience.

      Highly Recommended

Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in May 2012

This cabin is absolutely amazing. The location is perfect; Not very far from the lake, or hiking trails. When we arrived, the cabin was just as described: very clean, full kitchen, bedrooms all made up, and the bathrooms had fresh towels. The beds were actually quite comfortable. I slept better here than in my actual home! Very cozy cabin. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is thinking about staying here. You wont be sorry!

      Beautiful home in Big Bear!

Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in December 2011

This cabin has all of the amenities of home, very comfortable beds, super clean & cozy. The owners spared no expense updating this beautiful home with granite countertops, full size oven, microwave, beautiful cabinets, and beautiful bathrooms too! It is on an oversized lot, so outdoor games are a must! It is just a hop, skip & a jump away from the O.C. & the Coachella Valley.

      average cabin

Left on 05/25/2012 for a stay in February 2012

A big improvement is needed for the beds. I don't know why the plastic of the bed is still on, with three super hard mattress(feels like hardwood) stack onto each other makes it difficult to climb on and sleep on. I mean it's always cold weather at Big Bear, we travellers expect a warm cozy soft bed instead of a hardwood mattress with plastic cover on! Even the bedsheet moves around too much on the plastic. One more suggestion: Add a hair dryer! It's critical for some girls not be able to dry their hair after it's been washed. It took me and my friends up to 2 hrs to let our hair sit dry before going out of the cabin.
Overall the cleanness of the cabin is good. I like the fact that we get washer and dryer.

Upon receipt of your review; we informed the owners of the home of the issues you noted. Desert Relief has brand new pillow top and tempurpedic toppers on each bed to offer comfort to our guests. We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the beds and we will continue to monitor our guests opinion of the beds in the home. Unfortunately our properties are not completely stocked, and guests may need to bring basic grooming items such as blow dryers. Thank you for your feedback; we hope you will give us another chance in the near future.

I would definitely come back to stay

Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Dessert Relief is the perfect Cabin to stay for two couples, I was very satisfied. The cabin looks exactly like the pictures. We did have a small issue when we first arrived, there was no running water. But the maintenance man was there to fix it within minutes. Overall I was very pleased
