      Great Getaway

Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We were looking for a quiet weekend escape...Sugarloaf was the perfect place. We had such a great time. The outside fire pit was wonderful and we roasted marshmallows. Perfect amount of space for 2 couples.
Only complaint was that the couch was very old and a bit dirty/not so comfortable. Overall though we would stay again!!

Great but service and attention questionable

Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in December 2012

The interior was negligently described. You will find yourself entering into a mud room that has been converted into a bathroom and laundry. Kitchen was a good size. The place was filthy when we arrived, bedding not changed and all wet areas unclean. They did not tell us at check in they were intending to come out and clean. We called and they stated that they would come out, and they did at nearly 5 pm. Kids were nice that cleaned it. **Here is the thing. You are expected to fully clean upon leaving. Im not sure what they do about the beds. I guess they just hope you make them. There is a threat that if you do not fully clean you will be charged an exorbitant. This is a way overpriced fee for this type of stay. I do not recommend that you spend your time with this place due to the cleaning policy.*** The other big issue is the beds. There are two and they are listed as (2) queens. They are not queen, they are a full. It simply is not enough room for a couple who expect at least a queen. This was seriously disapointing as I spent a few nights on the couch. Overall, expect less for a high price per night and you'll be fine. Location is way up in the mountain so bring chains!

Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 01/13/2013

      Big Bear Cool Cabins

      Manager

      Dear Adventurers,

Thank you for leaving this review. As a company, we here at Big Bear Cool Cabins thrive off the feedback and opinions we receive from our renters to improve our Cool Cabins as well as our customer service. We have taken quite a bit of time to examine the statements that were made and research your claims in order to resolve some of the issues you have listed. I would like to start by saying that it is never our intention to misrepresent our cabins or there amenities that are included in them. According to our records you did book this cabin online where all the amenities are listed truthfully and to the fullest extent of current knowledge. All pictures are taken in regular lighting with no alterations made to the photographs. It is true that one of the rooms has been converted into a laundry room; this is for the convenience of our guests and is not something we would wish withhold. As far as the cleaning while we would like to offer our sincere apologies, per your contract it is stated that during the winter months cleaning may be delayed significantly, especially around holidays. Next, ALL we require upon check out is that you wash your dishes and put the keys in the lock box. Per the city you must also dispose of your trash at one of the two local dumpsites. There is no extensive cleaning required, as you do pay a cleaning fee. We take care of everything. Lastly I did speak to the homeowner and both beds are indeed queen beds, not full sized. Once again I would like to thank you for your feedback and please know that this response is not left in bitterness, rather we just want to clarify a few things that we find to be invalid and possibly misleading to potential guests and could deter them from renting this awesome cabin. We do hope you enjoyed our beautiful city while you were here despite any problems you were met with. Please give us a call if you are ever willing to reconsider staying with us so we can find you the perfect cabin and extend a discount in order to compensate you for any trouble.

      Best Regards,
The Big Bear Cool Cabins Team

      Amazing Cabin!

Left on 12/06/2012 for a stay in November 2012

We rented the cabin for a weekend at the end of November. We had read previous reviews about being wary of renting from Big Bear Cool cabins. However we were pleasantly surprised to find that our weekend was fun, comfortable and more than we expected. The cabin is beautiful and cozy. They provide you with everything from what you expect to more. Everything was clean when we arrived and the cabin was already preheated because it was very chilly in the mountains. The cabin has a fire pit on the front that we used every night there and it was a lot of fun. The cabin even has movies and many games for people to enjoy. The cabin also has surround sound which is another plus. I would book with them again and again.
