Pros and Cons of PoleHouse 25

Left on 11/25/2012 for a stay in November 2012

To be fair this home has both pros and cons.

The Pros: It is "Country-Cutesy" decorated with each bedroom a different theme. The kitchen was well stocked with pretty much everything you could possibly need to cook large meals. The trains
were far enough away we were not disturbed by their noise. There is a large area outside behind the house for kids to play without being close to a neighbor.

The Cons: The poor rating is reflective of the cons. The cons far outweighed the pros. The heating system was either inadequate, not working properly or seriously outdated. The outside low temp was probably in the 40s at night. Two of the bedrooms alternated between being hot or cold. The third bedroom remained cold and did not heat up at all. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable this house would be if the temperature outside was colder than the low 40's. The ski themed bedroom has a high ceiling and the heating system was unable to warm the room up. The best way to get a good nights sleep in the ski themed bedroom would be to wear a coat and hat to bed. The furnace was located downstairs between the two bedrooms and it rumbled on and off all night. The sound could best be described as what an angry bear probably sounds like when it comes out of hibernation. Imagine waking up to that four or times every night. The hot tub would not hold the heat from one night to the next day. Plan your hot tubbing accordingly. The loft area where the hide a bed is and the ski themed bedroom have sky lights so if you like to sleep in a dark room you need to make sure you get in the door first if you are vacationing with a group and stake a claim on one of the other two bedrooms so you won't end up in a room with a skylight that wakes you up when the sun comes up.

      In fairness:
The heating problems would probably not be a concern in the summer at all...just the sky lights. If the heating and hot tub issues were resolved, this home would be a great rental.

All activities, all in one location

Left on 08/05/2009 for a stay in July 2009

We had a wonderful time at our house in Sunriver. We had very comfortable accomodations, and therefore had a most pleasant time with our family.
We arrived with our son and his family to a comfortable home. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked. The arriving and departing rules were very explicit. The washer and dryer were much needed and appreciated. The home stayed cool most of the day, which was much appreciated during the heatwave. From the time we arrived, until the time we left a week later, we were treated with promptness and understanding with any problems we might have with the home. When we ordered fans, they were at the home immediately. When we discovered the house was short 1 bicycle, a replacement arrived immediately. When the hot tub chemicals were out of balance, we paged the agency. They were very helpful and arrived the next morning to fix the problem. The house was in a good location, near the bike trails, as I'm sure all houses are near bike trails. The paved bike trails are everywhere, and mostly flat. What a wonderful time we had, riding bikes all over.
One problem we had with the home was with the hot tub. The pump is to run all the time, in fact the pump could not be turned off. The sound of the pump disturbed my son and daughter-in-law while trying to sleep at night. That would be the only problem.
