Description from the manager
Darling mountain cabin with walking distance of the Sunriver Village. Oversized loft upstairs is the second bedroom and master with queen and its own bath, bedroom downstairs has a queen, and there is a day bed and trundle bed up at the landing of the stairs and a queen sofa bed in the living room. Lots of wood accents, hot tub on the open deck in the back. Sleeps 6. This home does back up to railroad tracks but the plus is it gives you a great view of the Deschutes National Forest with more privacy than most homes in Sunriver.

CoburgExceptional Customer Service!
Left on 10/24/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We have been staying at Coyote 8 every October (and sometimes May also) for approx 10 years. This October was the first time we contemplated renting a different house through Bennington Properties because over the years the Master bed in Coyote 8 began to feel firmer and firmer against our aging bodies! We tried the downstairs bed unsuccessfully also. Ultimately, we decided to share this information with Lisa at Bennington and she was kind enough to contact the owner to see if he was planning on replacing the mattresses soon. Within just a couple days after communicating with Bennington, Lisa emailed us that the owner was going to replace the mattresses! We just completed a very comfortable stay on a new pillowtop mattress (downstairs mattress was replaced also) and we are so impressed with the exceptional customer service we had from Bennington and the owner of Coyote 8! Thank you!!

Happy Valley, OregonA well-stocked kitchen and walking distance to the Village
Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012
A well-stocked kitchen, walking distance to the Village yet still felt private. Loved that our pets were welcomed with goodies and we all enjoyed Yappy Hour, too! Missing a welcome binder that would have explained how to operate the Tv--which we had a lot of difficulty with--and location and operation of other amenities. Otherwise we had a very restful and enjoyable stay in Coyote 8.
Response from Bennington Properties - 09/12/2012
Manager
Thanks Jim & Martha,
Glad you and Buster, Khona and Zoey could join at Yappy Hour.
We'll get some instructions made for the TV.
Appreciate the feedback.

Perfect for a family of 4 if kids can share a room. Awesome location especially for small bike riders just learning. We were able to bike to everything. My only complaint is the hot tub chemicals were so bad it caused a rash on two of us & we were very limited in being able to use it.
Response from Bennington Properties - 08/01/2012
Manager
Thanks Chantelle,
Yes, that location is very central - easy walk or bike ride to Village or SHARC.
The hot tub chemicals are tested between every guest. I'm owndering if something fell into the tub.
Thanks

Very lovely house. It is very comfortable. First night, bed sheets were not clean. But next morning, the management took care of it immediately. Occasional train noise, it was a pleasant stay.
Response from Bennington Properties - 06/22/2012

Thanks Ilker,
I'll check to see what happened with the sheets.
Glad you enjoyed the home.

Great service from Bennington - nice welcome gifts and a wonderful breakfast one of the mornings we were in Sunriver. Walked to the Village - very convenient. Perfect size for a family of 4.
Response from Bennington Properties - 01/12/2012

Sally,
8 Coyote is in a great location. It's close to the Village and will be close to the new Aquatic Center
So glad you could stay with us and join us for breakfast.

The condo was comfortable. We cooked and found we had all the pots and pans needed. Most of all I was impressed by the service - the Benningtons go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. I would not consider renting from anyone else now.

Thanks so much Eileen!

Klamath Falls, OREnjoyable weekend.
Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We were in Sunriver for the Pacific Crest weekend. The proximity of Coyote 8 to all the activities is perfect - within walking distance so no hunting for a parking space. The home was nice and had all the amenities one would expect. The train came by a couple of times per day but was not a distraction at all. Our dogs really enjoyed the open space behind the home and we were visited all weekend by a doe at the back deck. A nice getaway and great value for this home.
Response from Bennington Properties - 06/29/2011
Manager
Thanks Christy,
That would be a great location for Pacific Crest. Glad Moose had a good time too.

Left on 06/24/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Great house with everything except air conditioning. The upstairs bedroom was hot but bearable if you used the ceiling fans. We were disappointed that Bennington Guests cannot use the Maverick facility (Pool, Wave Pool). So be aware of that if you have kids.
Response from Bennington Properties - 06/24/2011
Manager
We made the decision several years ago not to affiliate with Mavericks in order to keep our prices down. We do provide full free access to both of Sunriver's public pools and the tennis courts. Next year, our guests will have free access to the new aquatic center featuring both an indoor and outdoor pool.

8 Coyote, as all of the properties I have rented from Bennington, was absolutely great. I think it could possibly use new shower heads, but that's really splitting hairs.

The cabin was perfect. We arrived and the lights and heat were on so the cabin was warn and inviting. The Hot tut was ready to jump into. The barbeque was in working order. The cabin was perfect for the 3 of us. We could have easily had a couple more guests. Well stocked kitchen.

Left on 11/18/2010 for a stay in November 2010
The accomodations were very nice. Clean and convenient to shopping. Drawbacks were its proximity to the railroad track, though we knew about that; lack to an ax to cut firewood; no separate bath towels for hot tub; and lack of dish towels.
Response from Bennington Properties - 11/18/2010

Hi Doug,
We don't provide axes or hatchets for safety purposes. Be sure to call us next time and we'll be happy to deliver kindling.

coburg, ORrelaxing
Left on 10/21/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We have been renting Coyote 8 for 8 years or so every October. A few years ago, someone left us some wine and gift certificates for dinner because we are long term customers. We thought that was a really thoughtful touch. This year was the first time we had any trouble with the hot tub. We usually spend hours in it every day when we rent Coyote 8, but the hot tub wasn't holding water. The hot tub company came out and removed the pump and said it was out of order for the remainder of our stay. We were disappointed that happened but I am not sure there was any way to forsee that would happen. Maybe it had been holding water fine up until the day we got there. Thank you!
Response from Bennington Properties - 10/21/2010
Manager
Thank you Stephen,
I am truly sorry about the hot tub. I know for many people that is one of the really special things about staying in Sunriver. The owner of 8 Coyote feels really bad too and wants to do something extra special for you on your next stay.

Beaverton, ORGreat Value!
Left on 09/12/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We just got home from our stay and were overall very happy with Coyote 8. The kitchen was very well equipped and the house seemed to have everything we needed. I was a little concerned about having the train behind us but they never blew their horn and our son loved watching the "choo choo" go by. The only downfall we thought was how noisey the floor was in the loft. You could hear someone walking around up there from any point in the house. Other than that we loved our stay! Being close to the mall was a nice bonus. A huge thank you to the employee that responded so quickly when our son accidently locked us out of the house! He was there within minutes and even ran to the door to unlock it for us. Thank you so much for your excellent customer service!

You are very welcome, Shannon.

Our Family
Portland ORGood Value but Some Problems
Left on 09/10/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Let me start with some pros for this rental property. First, the value is excellent. Take a moment to search around other Runriver properties, you'll be hard pressed to find one with such a good rate. Additionally, first impressions are very good. The rental is clean, has a nice comfortable ambiance, and is decorated appropriately to maintain a "cabin" feel. Furthermore, the train tracks others have mentioned are nothing to be concerned over. The train thunders by but infrequently, and is honestly a novelty. However, that is where the positives end.
On the cons side, the main road entering Sunriver is located perhaps 60 yards from the back deck. Although one cannot hear the traffic while inside, it is a constant buzz when in the hot tub or on the back deck --- and the noise tampers with the solitude of the outdoors. On the comfort front, this rental has no aC which is pretty normal for Sunriver. The remedy is to open lots of windows and let the evening breeze cool down the house. Unfortunately, most of the windows (especially those on the upper bedroom level) have no screens to keep out moths and mosquitoes. No aC and no screens --- you can have one but not both --- we had to fight off the indigenous bug population while staying there. Finally, this is 2010. Having a small tube television for evening entertainment doesn't work. This cabin is sorely in need of a moderately sized flatscreen TV to wind down with.
Bottom Line: I think this cabin is perfectly suited for winter lodging rather than summer occupancy. Fix the TV issue and there's no reason this place shouldn't be booked all winter long. -

BeavertonFelt very private, quiet
Left on 08/12/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Nice, small house in quiet area. The trains were not too noisy, even with the windows open.. The windows were a bit of a problem, though, as some of them don't open or don't open easily. We were 3 adults, I might be nervous with young children so near to the train tracks. There are no fences or barriers between the house and the tracks.
Response from Bennington Properties - 08/21/2010
Manager
We appreciate your feedback, Doria. 8 Coyote is actually a great kids house (they tend to love the train). However you are absolutely right, not the type of place you would want to let a child wonder around outside unsupervised. Although that would be a good rule of caution for any place unfamiliar to a parent (railroad or not).

Boise, IDA nice little house, and a good value.
Left on 07/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We have been visiting Sunriver for 30 years, but this is the first time renting through Bennington Properties. We were impressed by their easy check-in, and well stocked home. This house was conveniently near the mall, and the hot tub was nice and clean. The home's decor was a bit dated (artificial flowers, etc.), but it was clean and comfortable. The location near the rail road tracks might be a negative for people with young children, but the occasional train did not bother us.

We are glad you found us, Kristin. We appreciate your business.

Portland, ORGreat Location. Small, but well laid out.
Left on 07/01/2010 for a stay in June 2010
Walking distance to village, which was very nice. Best equipped kitchen of any house we've stayed in at Sunriver. The usual stuff like coffee maker & toaster, but also a grinder, tons of kitchen utensils, bakeware, etc. That was a great surprise. We received fast, immediate customer service from Bennington when we called and let them know that the trash service hadn't picked up from the outside receptacles. The hauled everything away and cleaned up the mess the animals had left.

8 Coyote was a great weekend rental!
We were in Bend/SunRiver for our sons baseball tournament. The house was cozy and had everything we needed for a great stay. The train is hardly noticeable...it does not sound its horn or shake the house. Bennington Properties did not miss a beat with their service either!
Thanks for a fun weekend and I would recommend this property to anybody.
There were four of us - two adults and two teenage boys - plenty of room for all of us. -

the house was well prepaired for our arrival; cozy and clean. we were able to cook at home just fine with all of the kitchen utensils and appliances. the location is very good in terms of the convinience; easy to get to and withing walking distance to Sunriver village.
Couple of things we did not like too much are: hearing the train(but we knew about it); heaters are noisy. also couple of dining chairs probably need to be replaced soon. they are not very stirdy anymore when you sit on them. we liked the hot tub a lot. overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. -

Left on 09/24/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Just the two of us at Sunriver this year for a four night stay. The house was perfect. In fact, there would have been room for at least one of our daughters and their families to stay with us a night or two.
I loved the cedar walls throughout.
Close enough to walk to the mall for dinner.
No houses or bike paths behind house, very private.
I liked having the master bedroom upstairs.
Everything in the house was well kept.
Tons of stars at night from the hot tub.
Deer came right up to the deck in back.
The decor was a little eighties, but nice.
The trains going by didn't bother us much.
We would definitely stay in this one again! -

Our family had a wonderful stay at Coyote 8. We would definately return. There is a wonderful veiw and we saw a lot of deer. The porch was private and comfortable. We did not have any issues with the property while we stayed there so we didn't need to make any calls, but taking care of all our needs via there website was excellent. The best part was that we got to bring our furry friend
Buddy(our dog). It is also nice because it is close the the mall so we never got lost. -

Portland, ORGreat Weekend Getaway
Left on 05/14/2009 for a stay in May 2009
We rented this house for weekend getaway for my mother over Mother's day. The house and Sunriver were exactly what we were looking for - peaceful and relaxing.
We were impressed with how well the house was stocked with towels, sheets, utensils, etc. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the house. My mother is very particular about cleanliness and I didn't hear one complaint from her about the house.
Other reviews had mentioned stains in the carpet from pets, but neither we (nor or two small dogs) found any, which was a pleasant surprise. The expanding pet gates at the top of the stairs and between the kitchen and living room were also a welcome surprise, and came in very handy for the dogs.
The property's only drawback is that it backs to the train tracks, but this was clearly shown on the property description, and didn't bother any of our family at all.

This cozy home was perfect for our small group. The home had pretty much every thing we needed for a weekend stay. And it was nice to be in walking distance to the village. Bennington Properties was very friendly and helpful with all our questions. The home was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. I know it is right by the train tracks but they mostly ran in the late evening and I could not hear them most of the time. The only thing that was missing was instructions on how to use the tv, vcr, dvd and stereo. They had a great surround sound once we finally figured out how to turn it on while watching a movie. I would stay here again and would recommend it to my friends as well.

Left on 10/28/2008 for a stay in July 2008
Fantastic Family Vacation! This was our first time to vacation at Sun River and our it will not be our last. Our Bennington Property rental was great, clean, roomy, and affordable! Bennington was very easy to work with; they even had a "Welcome treat bag" for our dog; which was another great bonus - dog friendly rentals. We will definately be going back to Sun River and will book our rental through Bennington. The ONLY negative about this property was the train tracks directly behind the house; a little disturbing at 3 AM! However, our friends rental was directly across the way from ours and they never heard a thing. The location was great; walking distance to the village and pool, but i would probably choose a different house to avoid the train noise.
