Description from the manager
Cozy mountain cabin with beautiful new furniture in living room. Sky lights in living room give this home a bright open feel. This is a great home located near Fort Rock Park, within walking distance of the children's play ground, baseball field, basketball court and tennis courts. The owners take a lot of pride in this home and it shows.

For the price, this rental met my expectations. Not fancy, but amply filled our needs (including our dog). The house was very clean and generally well-stocked. I would have appreciated having one non-stick pan and a silicone spatula. Those seems like pretty basic items to have in a kitchen. I believe the house sleeps 7, but seems like that would be too snug particularly if you had all adults.

Battle Ground, WAGreat house in poor condition
Left on 09/12/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We have been to Sunriver many times for family reunions, but this was our first time with just our family. We love visiting Sunriver. Our first impression as we walked in 20 Poplar was that it was a cute little house - perfect for our situation - but there was a bit of a smell that we couldn't quite place. My initial thought was that it smelled like a smoker had been inside, but we knew it was a non-smoking residence. After some time and getting things put away, we discovered that it might have been due to pets in the house. (It was at this point it occurred to us that we hadn't specified that we were looking for non-smoking and a non-pet home) Our best guess is that there was something like a black lab dog that had been in the house before us since we found black hair all over the house (carpets, entryway and even the master bed spread). Also, after having our kids walk around on the carpet with their bare feet and having them turn black, we decided they would need to wear their flip flops or shoes during the stay to keep their feet clean. We are kind of clean freaks, so this was a bit of a stretch for us.
A nice house that worked perfectly for us, just really needs a deep clean.
Response from Bennington Properties - 09/12/2012
Manager
Thanks Jennifer,
I apologize about the pet hair. That is inexcusable.
Carpets do tend to be our greatest challenge during the summer. There is rarely time between guests to do a thorough cleaning and drying.
Hope you enjoyed your stay.

This is our 4th Stay at 20 Poplar (we already booked our 5th!) and it was wonderful as always. What a great space and fantastic location. We can now also report that it easily and comfortably accommodates our family of 3 with great sleeping options for our daughter and can handle 2 huskies just fine!
Loved the doggie "Yappie Hour" - thanks to the folks at Bennington who could not be more friendly, helpful and keep the place real nice.
Thanks to all - see you all at Thanksgiving - The Millers - and a big Woof from Beaudy & Ginger

Portland, OregonGreat house but missing the small touches
Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We recently rented the property at 20 Poplar. The house itself was great - comfortable, cozy and clean. Bennington properties was great and very responsive. I would definateky rent from them again.
A couple of the things that bothered us though are: the knives in the kitchen were dull and cheap and one was broken. Overall the kitchen wasn't very set up with cookies utensils. The kitchen range was horrible to cook on and the general kitchen layout was awkward and should be updated.
The gas fireplace didn't work. The hot tub was too shallow and couldn't really hold more than 3 people.
Finally, I think they should switch the queen bed up in the loft and the bunk in the down stairs room.
Response from Bennington Properties - 07/04/2012

Thank you so much for your feedback.
I have passes on all your suggestions to the owners and our property services department.

The home was very clean, great location (close to playground). I liked the bedroom orientation and spaciousness very much. We also enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. It would have been nice if the furniture in the loft was away from the railing. I was a bit nervous that my 3 year old would get curious and climb to look, and fall over the edge.
Overall a very enjoyable stay. Thank you!Response from Bennington Properties - 02/28/2012

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving Stay once again at 20 Popular - this place fits our family perfect - great location, great layout and flexibility especially to bring along our husky-dog Beaudy (although he missed his treat and water dish but that was because they let us check in early - thanks Odot for keeping the snow off teh roads and Bennington for shoveling teh driveway and walks!)- Not that Beaudy is worried we are thinking of coming back and trying out the house in the summer and he's looking forward to it!
Only complaint my wife has is that the staples stock in teh ktichen is not as good as some of the other houses we have stayed in but I am not sure if that means she just wants to go out to eat more often. _ Can't wait to book this place next year. - The Millers

Second visit to Bend/Sunriver...want to keep coming back! First time renting a home, but it cost as much as a hotel (slow season), and was extremely comfortable! Even though the listing on the website did not include the hot tub, they have one here...very nice to sit in on a cool (40 degree) night. They also have bikes in the shed! Lots a trails to ride on...Oregon is a beautiful place...especially this time of year! I recommend Bennington Properties to anyone looking for a great getaway. Other cool thing was the check-in/check-out...you just go straight to the house and the key is in a lock box. They provide the code via email to you once you reserve the house. Great, convenient service!

We really enjoyed this house. It had a great layout for us, a very comfortable master bed, easy workable TVs, spacious loft for the teenage son, and the girls shared the bunk room. The lights were a little dim so we propped them up to be able to read at night in bed. The oven was a challenge to get going but worked well after we figured it out. The kitchen was very well stocked with great pots and utensils. Everything was in great working order. The master toilet was plugged when we arrived and got worse. There was no plunger but a very prompt repairman, thanks for the immediate service. The hottub was not very hot and shallow. The 4 bikes were a good addition. Loved the location of the house. Over all it was a very nice stay and we will definitely visit again with Bennington since we like the price of the offered houses, the 3 for 2 special, and that is not member of Maverick.

We thought everything was nice and comfortable. Even the beds were good which is surprising in a rental. One criticism would be that there was only 2 wine glasses and we had 4 adults in our party. My guess is that if we had called to complain, they would have brought us 2 more.

We really enjoyed our stay at 20 Poplar. The house is bigger and nicer than the website shows. If I were to return to this area, I would rent this home again. It was big enough for my daughter, son-in-law, my Mother and Daddy and my sister. We had plenty of room. The bunk beds are not for adults though. The only thing I was disappointed in was none of the restaurants were opened. The grocery store and the shell station was the only place to get food.

The house was clean and comfortably furnished. It is located close to E. Cascade so you do get some traffic noise. The house is setup for a family w/kids and a pet. We had four adults so, one couple had to sleep on a bunkbed. As the only other bed is in the loft area, that has no privacy or bathroom. Overal a neat house, great location.

Bennington Properties was extremely responsive to our needs and very nice to work with. The house is small but comfortably sleeps an amazing amount of people. It was different having all the outdoor space at the front of the house but we found it was still private and provided plenty of space for all in our party. We were very happy to find that two of the bikes were new cruisers. We certainly appreciated the three fans that were provided as renting a property without A/C was a bit trying in 90 degree weather. All in all, we really enjoyed this home and will absolutely consider Bennington Properties on our next trip to one-of-a-kind Sunriver!

20 Poplar lane was in a good location for our family and located near Fort Rock Park. The house was clean and had an open layout which comfortably slept our family of five. However, when we arrived, the refrigerator had not been turned on and we were unable to unload our groceries right away. Most importantly, the oven nor three of the 4 burners were working. The kitchen was not well stocked with cooking utensils either. Furthermore,
I would replace the musty, old shag carpet.Response from Bennington Properties - 01/28/2009

Oven and all 4 burners work great. Oven does heat 5 degrees less than setting, but shouldn't make a difference when cooking. Don't forget to adjust your recipes temperature and time cooked to that required for cooking at 4,000 feet of elevation.
