Overlooking its very own beach is a family compound consisting of a main house, plus, a complete carriage house over the second double garage. This all surrounded by lawns, palms,& a maritime forest of ancient oaks with delightful wild creatures, a very private heated pool, and over 2500sq/ ft. of decks with ocean and sound views. At the end of the street is a private day dock where one may while away a lazy afternoon, fish for dinner, launch a kayak, hop a SeaDoo, or tie up the boat for the day. In the main house..., a chefâ™s kitchen with granite counters, Italian accents, natural hickory cabinetry with a large, Bosch gas cooktop and Bosch electric convection oven, Bosch dishwasher, Amana refrigerator and microwave, Blanco sinks and Grohe fixtures await the gourmand.The game room has another full size refrigerator/ice maker for overflow and beverages, along with its own wet bar and microwave for making snacks while watching one of the three 42â? Panasonic plasma tvâ™s on the property!Challenge someone to a rousing foosball game on a tournament table, or, play pool on a beautiful Brunswick table!The attached cottage, sometimes referred to as "the carriage houseâ? also has a complete fully equipped kitchen for all dining needs. It is also equipped with a 42â? Panasonic plasma TV.The greatroom is enhanced by a gas fireplace (for shoulder and winter seasons.) Another 42â? Panasonic plasma TV and true surround theater sound, with XM radio. Sink into deep leather furnishings and enjoy a movie or sporting event.The bedrooms are spacious, with two master suites, one with its own Jacuzzi and accessible shower ensuite. Two family suites accommodate even the largest assemblies. Everyone has a proper bed â“ no sofa-beds in this house. Wrap around, covered porches in the Southern tradition are a feature of each and every bedroom. The carriage house has a delightful screened porch with ceiling fan, nestled into the treetops to enjoy soft Southern Nights. There are 19â? LCD, flat panel TVâ™s and DVD players in most bedrooms.The tower watch has 360degree views of the Island, Ocean, and Sound. This is a great place to enjoy your favorite beverage prepared at the wet bar while, watching dolphins in one direction with the spotting scope, and the sunset over the sound in the other.Finishes of travertine limestone, granite, hardwoods, and fine fixtures throughout, compliment the home. Special care has been taken with a cable railing system to optimize views all around.The game room has another 42â? plasma TV with surround sound, a foosball table and sumptuous leather seating. Fix a beverage at the granite topped bar,make some popcornâ¦..relax in this NASCAR themed room.The private, sparkling pool and surrounding deck area is complimented by two shower/ dressing rooms, a lanai room, and easy access to two ground level powder rooms. One end of the pool has an elevated area which may be used for a DJ or small ensemble, (or a wedding party?), under the unique pergola. The cross over is a private pool house to open onto the pool deck.Three inside garages, two which will accommodate a boat and trailer, or catererâ™s van are here for keeping your vehicles and toys out of the elements.A sweeping lawn graces the property for volleyball, croquet, or an event tent to accommodate weddings, anniversaries, and other get-togethers.Last but not least, the family dog, (or two), are welcome guests. Dogs know how to have fun, and will gladly remind us! Being dog lovers, (of well trained dogs), we just got tired of kenneling our dog and then having her know weâ™d been to the beach. How could you do this Mom â˜n Dad? Payback time.We believe youâ™ll find this South of the Light property to be unique on all of Topsail Island. Close to golf, shopping, boating, and family recreational activities.Main House: 2 King suites, 4 queens, 2 full, 5 twin bunks, 3 twins.Carriage House: 1 Queen, 1 twin w/trundleNote: Pool heater is non operational when the air temperature is too low. Fireplace is operable late fall through march. Propane barbecue and fuel provided. Bring your pet for a $200 non-refundable pet fee per pet and a $600 refundable damage deposit. Pre-booking and weddings: This home does NOT give the current guest first right of refusal for the corresponding week in the next year. When booking this home for a following year a $600 deposit is due within two weeks of booking. The deposit will apply towards the cost of the rental.   I am impressed with your professional yet personal service. The check-in and out was well organized and executed, you were very patient with all the questions I asked and kept me informed of everything such as due dates throughout the process. One of the few problems was a little confusion as to the garbage and recycling pick up - we just hope we did it right.
  The home was beautiful and very well thought out as to what guests would need. There were so many thoughtful touches such as robe hooks, bathrooms in convenient places, a shower by the pool. We could have used more counter space for serving meals, but the appliances were high quality. We all loved the decks. It was great to have wonderful view from nearly every room in the house. I also appreciated a large kitchen/dining/living area that would accommodate our large group. It would have been nice to have a kitchen inventory list so we wouldn't have had to bring things like specialty pans with us.
  The location of this home couldn't have been more perfect for us because there is an unobstructed view of the ocean even though it isn't beachfront. It was also nice to be fairly close to both the towns of Topsail and Surf City (a good bike ride either way) and was easy to find.
  We enjoyed the privacy of the carriage house and the extra kitchen it provided. The pool turned out to be a great thing to have, especially in the extreme heat during the afternoon.
  This home was ideal for our family's needs and we were grateful to have found such a place to rent. Thank you for everything!

  Fabulous home!

  The house was great and very well located to activities. We had 21 in our group and the house was more than large enough. We had three late teens/early 20's so the guest house worked perfectly for them. The house is located across the street from the beach but this presented no problem. It was an easy short walk. Our issues were small: 1) The downstairs bathroom needs more towel bars/hooks. 2) One of the bedrooms on the main floor did not have a large dresser/mirror.

  Great House/Mediocre Service

  The house was absolutely beautiful and it was perfectly suited to hold a large group that was in town for my wedding. The pool house provided cozy and private setting for my grandparents. I would recommend this house if you want to house a large group. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the rental company. The initial booking was difficult since I had to do it twice. Upon arrival at the house we found the hot tub to be empty and the pool not cleaned. The hot tub and private pool were two of the major reasons we booked the house. A service company filled the hot tub but it was so green and dirty looking that we did not even use it and we were told they would not clean the pool for our stay. I just wish we were made aware that the pool and hot tub would not be in service especially since we paid $5,000.00 for the week. The house was beautifully furnished but I would not recommend using Treasure Realty. If you do use Treasure I would make sure the amenities are in working order before signing a contract.

  Plenty of room for a big family. Great condition and the views are terrific.
  
  The only negative is that you have to cross the road to get to the beach, but with little children this actually helped as they would always need to wait for an adult.
