Almost Heaven is a beautiful home. The location is great, close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. We were there during "motorcycle week" and it was very annoying & distracting, and we will choose a different week next time. The house is beautifully equipped, clean, & updated. A few drawbacks are the pool was not heated, so we were unable to use it in mid May.There is a full flight of stairs up to the front door that can be difficult when hauling chidren and "gear", and it is on a very busy, noisy street. Renting a golf cart is really handy to drive around the area and take advantage of the local beach restaurants. Seaside rentals were great to work with, and most accomodating. Overall, this is a great vacation destination.

Long Island, NYFamily Reunion at the Ivory Tower

We had a 12 member family reunion during Christmas recess with family arriving from coast to coast, as well as from the U.K.
Although the weather was not cooperating, we thoroughly enjoyed the 5 bedroom house. We had the ability to prepare huge Christmas eve and Christmas day dinners. The owners were thoughtful to include more than adequate glassware, dinnerware and utensils.
The house itself is beautifully decorated and you feel at home and only a block away from the beach. We enjoyed several bottles of wine while sitting in the living room with great views and warmth from the sun through the French doors that opened out to the deck and pool.
All the amenities were included and you only had to worry about which grocery store to choose for shopping. We also chose to eat out a couple of times and the local restaurants were fantastic. If you head south a bit, you have your choice of great seafood restaurants. Heading north, we found this great small Italian restaurant that accommodated everyone.
Note: we chose the linen option and glad we did. Everything was cleaned and individually wrapped which made it easy for everyone when you arrive and tired from traveling.
Would I return again? You bet!
