Heart of it allThis place could be nice...
Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We waited too long to get our usual pick, so we chose this based on location and price (15% off). First of all, Surfside Realty went out of their way to make our stay a good one, however they seemed to be as frustrated as we were. This house was filthy. We were told that the owners had personal guests in the house the week before us and had told the realty company that it didn't need cleaned. I cannot begin to tell you how bad it was, but if it tells you anything, the realty company sent in someone to clean the carpets and furniture while we were there. Almost every room in the house needed attention. The pool needed attention, and the furniture needed replaced. We put sheets on the sofa before we would let the kids sit on it. My granddaughter scraped her foot on a rusted lounge chair (the only lounge chair) out by the pool. Had to call a plumber during the night because of the hot water leaking through to the kitchen. Luckily, my son heard it and he woke up and found it or it would have been a real problem for the owner. As I said in the title line...this place could be nice with some cleaning and updated furniture. I have pictures, but they are not pretty. The realty company refunded our cleaning fee. One more thing...this is not a "second row" home. It is on the west side of Ocean Blvd, however, there are two rows of houses between the road and the ocean on the east side. The pictures look like it's on the east side of the road, but it isn't. The location was good as far as places to eat and the ice cream shoppe. We still had fun, but this house kind of put a damper on our vacation. The rental company said they have strongly suggested to the owners that they fix their property, and I hope they take their advice. Again, could be very nice.
