Spring Break 2013

-Rented this home because it offered a heated pool when the ocean would be 55 deg F. The heat pump is old, rusted & non-working. Our pool was 55 deg F and the identical pool next door was 90 deg F because their heat pump is new and it had a solar cover to retain the heat.They spent hours in their pool daily. It was very disappointing not to be able to use the pool!! The $350 fee for pool heating was refunded. The rental company found a house that had a functioning pool heater for us to move to. Unfortunately, it was not ocean front and it would take two days to get the pool heated. We declined the offer.
Upon arrival, the toilet in the downstairs bathroom was broken-it was fixed the next day. It rained, the roof in the master bedroom leaked through the light fixture onto the king bed. Placed a pan to catch the water. In addition, the bedspread on the king was visibly dirty. We removed it and placed it out of sight.
-The prior renter was there 30 days.Utensils, pans, and other dishes were put away dirty.House was wiped cleaned, but there was visible dirt in corners.
The house is for sale. We declined to have a real estate broker bring a buyer through because we had computers, i pads, i pods, cameras, etc unsecured. We went out to dinner. After we returned. The sliding glass doors were not secured. The doors were checked and secured prior to departure. We suspect that someone was in the house while we were out to dinner. Nothing was found to be missing.
In two bedrooms the Tv's are very old with a grainy picture and a audible buzzing sound. Teenagers are very sensitive to the high pitch and could not watch TV in their rooms.
We got a deal on the rental when the price was dropped from $2400 to $1500 per week. I was surprised when the final price was back to $2400 after taxes, linen fee, pool heater fee, etc.
What did we love? The location on the beach, washer and dryer, & the house furnace worked well. The pool would be nice in the summer. -

this is our ssecond year renting another Family Tradition. We were unfortunate that all our family could not join us as we had a terrible accident occur to my one year old grandaughter. I (Sharon Maclean) had to immediately fly home to be with my son and his family. Your staff, at the office, were very sympathetic and helpful to my daughter who was left in Myrtle Beach with her two small children awaiting information about the accident. They were concerned enough to check in on her to be sure everything was going well for her. The house was lovely and the location is right out of a magazine. I was able to return and bring my three year old grandson back with me to enjoy a few days of vacation and drive back to Ohio with my daughter and her children. A Company that shows compassion and concern as your staff did with us, is truly a company worth reccommending to family and friends. We hope to return next year with our "entire" family. Sincerely,

We have rented this house twice and that's it. The stuffing was coming out of the dining chairs both times and the furniture in the living room is in bad shape. We stayed here the second year hoping that some improvements had been made from the previous year, but it was just the same.
Some of the cookware in the kitchen was in really bad shape.
The location is great and it's really a shame to see the shape that this house is in. Without improvements we would never rent this house again. -

I am finding the rental houses in great need of refurbishing. I realized there is wear and tear each time a person rents, but I will not pay that price for furniture that is falling apart, paint badly needed, horrible mattresses and having to ask for a repairman for the first few days of vacation. Most of the complaints have to be reported, I will no longer rent unless I am assured that the unit has been updated.

we have stayed in this home for several years and every year it just keeps getting more run down. We love the pool and the location on the beach but we will not stay here again until the inside get cleaned up.
