Very nice location but overpriced
Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We enjoyed the location most: Surf side beach is beautiful and the kids enjoyed the waves. The beach wasn't too crowded or rowdy. We were just 20 mins from Myrtle Beach, which allowed us to quickly reach those attractions. There is also some decent shopping nearby (see Tanger Outlet malls).
The best part about the cottage is the pool. When the beach got too hot, we enjoyed the cool pool water in the shade beneath this cottage.
But frankly we won't stay again, not for the price charged during high season. The carpets were dirty (they should have carpeting in the first place), the cookware was old (scratched up old teflon pans) and even the walls weren't properly cleaned. The bathtubs looked old, and shower curtains were torn. What's more, we felt nickel-and-dimed (eg. Bbq is included, but it's extra for the utensils, so we just bought some and left them there for the next guests). And given the price we paid, we expected 5-star amenities. This was not 5-stars... -

What a great week! The home was very nice for us. Pretty decorating, nice furniture and kitchen set up. Great for families needing 4 bedrooms. I loved the convenient location to the pier, restaurants, ocean and stores. It has a very nice cabana pool setting, unfortunately, the cost to heat the pool is way overpriced compared to other houses we have stayed in, so we didn't take on that expense. Would have enjoyed the hot tub the most! Seaside Rentals has the best service around the beach area. Very accommodating and easy to talk/work with. We're planning another October 2010 getaway....can't wait to be back on the beach!
