      Perfect place for us

Left on 03/05/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Even in February without any snow the view from the Sunset Haven was wonderful. Even better was the house. The layout was perfect for our 3 couples and one baby to sleep sweetly and hang-out comfortably. Best of all, the kitchen was amazingly well-stocked with every utensil and appliance needed for the good cooks in our family to produce some very yummy meals. The week-end wasn't long enough to take advantage of all the places we wanted to see in the area, but having a free third night opened up all of Sunday for us and that made a big difference. It turns our our GPS even got us there, although we were warned it would not.

Beautiful home and view. Long driveway up the mountain but well worth it once you got there! Most comfortable amenities. Great getaway after a day in the charming asheville city and surrounding sights.

This was a carefree, relaxing stay.

Left on 04/16/2011 for a stay in March 2011

It was so pleasant just to stay home. We really did feel at home, but without the to-do pulls of our own home. What a gift to just sit and watch the sun play on the hillside!

      Peace and Quiet

Left on 02/08/2011 for a stay in January 2011

We loved the views, the arrangement of the rooms, all of the little touches that made the kitchen highly functional, and the eco friendly attention to green design and products.

If you go in January, consider putting a bag of sand in your car. The road is steep and has sharp curves. We were able to navigate it just fine with an all wheel drive even in a serious storm.

      Fantastic Home, Perfect Vacation

Left on 11/11/2010 for a stay in August 2010

This house is a fabulous, peaceful retreat. It's beautifully and tastefully decorated in a clean, spare way. It was the perfect quiet space for a harried city family, and we spent a fabulous week reading and relaxing inside, and outside on the deck. This kitchen and bathrooms are immaculate and well-thought-out--always key when you're in someone else's home, and the bedrooms are serene. The sunsets were gorgeous, and we even did some stargazing, though the local "smoky" clouds can make this a little challenging. It's about 20 mins to asheville, and also convenient to great nature opportunities.

      Relaxation

Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in June 2010

My wife and I brought our son, his wife and two children 4 an 2. All had a great time. The views were spectacular, the house was terrific, clean and seemed very new. The only complaint we had was that the electric grill they spoke of in the manual was no where to be found. A very minor item. When we drove up to the house we were very pleasantly surprised.

      Great Week at Sunset Haven

Left on 05/13/2010 for a stay in April 2010

Sunset Haven was an ideal place for our vacation. Two couples getting away for a week, the cabin gave us room to have our “own space” and areas to dine (inside or outside), converse, and watch our latest DVDs. The views are great and in addition to great sunsets, at sunrise it is fascinating to watch the sunlight illuminate the mountains across the valley, beginning with the tallest peaks.

While the property appears to be in the wilderness, it is less than 10 minutes to the I-40. As a result, we made daily trips to various sites in the area, including several trips to Asheville, and found the road access to be a major asset.

The place is well equipped and organized—it appears the Carolina Mornings thought of every possible tenant need.

Nice place but wasn't well prepared

Left on 05/03/2010 for a stay in February 2010

The home was in a very nice spot with excellent
views. It was spacious and clean which was good.
The home is not accessible to 2-wheel drive
vehicles when there's any bit of snow on the ground
which the site failed to mention. I had a FWD car
and was unable to make it all the way to the home.
Had to shovel for half of the next day. There was a
water jug left in the fridge which was set too low
so it burst and we had to clean up all the water
and defrost the fridge the first night we got
      there.

The beds were Tempur-Pedic which some people love.
My wife and I, however, cannot sleep on them so we
ended up on the couch after trying for two nigths.

Thank you for your review of Sunset Haven. We are sorry to hear that you had a hard time getting to the property- we did have an uncanny amount of snow this year, which makes it hard to drive anywhere! We are not sure what happened with the refrigerator, but it does sound like the extra cold made it extra cold! When you are looking to visit the area again, please do call us and we can find a home that has the bed- style that you prefer- you are right, everyone has their preferences, and we specialize in matching our guests to our cabin rentals. Please visit again soon; summertime means no snow!!

      Modern cabin, beautifully decorated

Left on 01/28/2010 for a stay in December 2009

We really enjoyed our stay here and think Carolina Mornings is a great company because we were orginally supposed to stay in a different cabin but due to weather conditions, we could not make it up the mountain and they allowed us to stay in this cabin which was beautiful and nicely decorated. big tv. everything you could need in kitchen. one thing they didn't have was a bbq.

Way exceeded our expectations. We honestly didn't think it would be so secluded, and was difficult for us to find at the beginning, but a rewarding adventure nonetheless. We wish we could have stayed longer, and perhaps brought more people along with us. Can't wait to go back in the springtime.

      A Special House

Left on 11/07/2009 for a stay in August 2009

I have lived in many houses, but none like this. It is the most beautiful house I haver ever seen, some day I hope to have one like it.

Carolina Mornings was the rental company, Katie made it possible to make are stay the most pleasent one.

The house has the most spectacular views, at dawn, during the day and at night. It is locate at the top of a mountain in Swannanoa, but very near everywhere we wanted to go. It was around the best golf range, which has an excellent golf trainer, Joe Stephensson.

The house was clean, new lovely decorated, so much i had someone come every day to clean the bathrooms and the kitchen and twice a week to clean fully, it is a house you feel like taking care of. It was well equipped. The only thing i did not like were the sheets, but i took my own, and the shower heads, not enough water pressure,

      Great place, great location.

Left on 11/04/2009 for a stay in August 2009

The house had everything we needed, including lots of cooking implements. The beds were comfortable with reading lights provided and the house layout gave everyone privacy. We also liked the gazebo we were able to use every evening. And no bugs!!

The location is convenient to both Asheville and Black Mountain with short drives to both.

      Would definately rent again.
