What Past Guests Are Saying
The house was absolutely amazing, it really set the tone for the
The White Wolf Cabin was spectacular, it was very clean and cozy. The home was well outfitted with comfortable furnishings, and everything a person could possibly need. The view was unbelievable! It felt as though we were sitting in the tops of the trees. We were so impressed with the service we received from Greybeard Realty, and completely satisfied with our stay at White Wolf Cabin. We will definitely be back!

Home away from home and more.
White Wolf Cabin was very nice and comfortable for our girlfriend's weekend. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking and sit down meals all you need is groceries. I would love to have this kitchen in my home. The walk in shower in the master bedroom on the 1st floor is awesome!!! It has a aroma mist and steam that you will forget about anyone else needing to use the shower because it's so relaxing and I wish I had this in my home too. The wrap around porch was nice to hang with conversation, if your a walker you can take a few laps around the deck to get your exercise in. The double doors to the porch was nice because you can pull the screen doors together and get that fresh mountain breeze. Hot tub was nice but in a very weird location. Gas grill was very nice, if your cooking in the evening make sure you go into the half bath and laundry room to turn on flood light so you can see. We did get a visit from a baby cub the next morning after grilling the night before. He woke us up at 7am shaking the gas grill thinking more steak, shrimps and fish was still on there. We grabbed a pot, spoon and started beating on it to run him off. We also suggest you drive a 4 wheel drive because that mountain is something serious to go up and you need a vehicle that can handle it. So book, pack your bags and enjoy your getaway. The photos of this cabin is what you see is what you get and I respect the owner(s) and management for that and I want to say Thank You! The ladies at Greybeard was very nice, helpful with booking, questions, suggestions. I would rent this cabin again and would use Greybeard Rentals in the future.
Our stay in White Wolf was a great family experience.
We loved the home. It is well appointed and comfortable with a good hot tub that can seat 6. It rained quite a bit so we weren't able to use the fire pit but it looked so tempting. Be prepared to wind your way up a steep and windy grade to get to the house but it's a well paved road through a beautiful woods. We loved the deck, which is where we started our day with coffee. Beds were comfortable and the furnishings and kitchen were modern. I liked that there was plenty of info about what to do posted inside the house. We ziplined for four hours in Marshall after our rafting trip was cancelled due to high water. Nothing negative to say other than I wasn't crazy about the tempermental coffeemaker and about a quarter of the gas grill wouldn't light. But you can grill 6 steaks on a 3/4 grill if you work at it. The Greybeard staff was very helpful in the days leading up to our vacation with emails, confirmations - everything to make you comfortable knowing the cabin was ready for you. It was a great time.

Bears, bears, bears!!
The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. The upstairs beds were a bIt uncomfortable unlike the master bed which was great. The cabin was a little smaller than we expected but very functional and had quality appliances which was very refreshing. It was quite remote which we liked even though the thick foliage of summer made the view limited. It was very pretty, however, even without a mountain view. Having a lockbox and gate code made arrival/departure extremely convenient. We were very impressed with Greybeard's communication through email, phone apps and texts. The staff was very friendly and thorough. Oh and the bears! We saw them at least a dozen times. One time was a mama and her three little cubs strolling across the driveway. Adorable! Thank you to the owners and Greybeard Rentals for an enjoyable stay. We would do it again.
Great stay in the woods!
Arrived on May 12,2013 the GPS took us right to the house, which is on the top of a mountain. We rented this house because it was close to Warren Wilson College, we were attending our daughters graduation. We stayed for a total of 9 days. It was a great house with things in it that we didn't even get the chance to use (hot-tub, fire-pit). The only down side of this house is there was no view only the trees around you. This was not a big deal for us. Wonderful house, you would not be disappointed.
The most peaceful vacation ever!
We rented this cabin for an anniversary getaway and it was wonderful. It was just the two of us so we didn't even use the upstairs. It was great to have everything we needed (for the two of us) on one level. The kitchen is fabulous, love the large tv in the family room, and love having two bathrooms on the main floor. The views and privacy were amazing!! We saw a mama bear with cubs near the cabin along the tree line which was one of the highlights of our stay. The wrap around deck has great seating and we especially liked the swing outside the master bedroom. We liked the location of the property--between Black Mountain and asheville--very close to both. We did find the hot tub a little inconvenient because it is down a flight of stairs and I am disabled, but it was nice to use otherwise. We found the master bedroom bed to be too firm for us and it would be nice to have a tv in the master bedroom. The drive up to the cabin is fine, better than most I've seen. There is a gate to the private drive that has to be unlocked and relocked upon coming and going. A little bit of a nuisance but worth it for the privacy and beauty of the property. The property was a little pricy for just the two of us but it was really wonderful and just as I had hoped. Everything in the cabin is high quality and beautiful. I didn't want to leave!! Excellent stay!
Great family get away
Our family met at White Wolf Cabin for our annual family vacation. The cabin exceeded our expectations in every way. This is a luxury cabin tucked away on seven acres in the mountains. The kitchen is state of the art, the bedrooms are very comfortable, the master bath is incredible with a jetted tub and aromatic steam shower, and the living area is spacious. Everything was clean and the floor plan is convenient.
The outside was our favorite part with a wrap around porch with ample seating and a swing. There is a wonderful gas grill for cooking out and a fire pit where we toasted marshmallows and sang. We saw turkeys and black bears including a mother and two cubs.
The staff at Greybeard Rentals could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The cabin is located close enough to asheville to be convenient (about 20 min.) and yet you still get to experience the beauty of the mountains. Rent this one before it fills up.

Privacy with a touch of luxury
This property is exactly as described on the Realtor web site. The pictures are completely accurate except for thick forest in summer versus the winter view shown. All the ammenities of the house were perfect and everything functioned exactly as it should. Info provided by both the owners and realtor were accurate and helpful.
The road up to the cabin is an amusement park ride which was exciting the first time but a pain thereafter. Road likely very difficult to impassable without 4x4 in winter. It is ok to go up and down once a day, but make sure to get all your shopping and errands done while you are off the mountain. There is a situation with the gate on this property that the owner needs to address as getting in and out of the car to open and close it is a serious pain. We had to deal with it during our stay and it was inconvenient.
The area is physically beautiful and all the towns nearby offer great restaurants and lots of opportunities to shop, sightsee, hike, etc. Very convenient to highway to asheville and to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Best-bears and wild turkeys in the yard! We saw bears on three occasions on the driveway and they were fascinating to watch from the deck.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the folks at Greybeard Realty to be cheerfully helpful and easy to work with. They were a font of information about things to do, places to go and great restaurants in the area. (By the way, this house has a gourmet kitchen if you are into cooking while on vacation!)
We highly recommend White Wolf Cabin!

spacious accomodations and plenty of privacy!
Nice property. Plenty of space and lots of privacy! Location is good further away from local attractions. Great for a family or couple. The fire pit is a great addition. The hot tub could have been located in a better location if your traveling with children. You will see a great deal of wild life at this location.
Our family of four stayed in the white wolf cabin for three nights. We were impressed with all the details that the owners paid attention to. The home and grounds are amazing. It is a very relaxing place to spend a vacation.

Service was very good, appreciated the loaf of homemade bread. The home had everything and more including steam shower. The location was more remote than expected but worth it.
Overall the entire home was the best. The least, fireplace didn't work.
