My college friends and I stayed at 'Stormy' for our annual get together and we all agreed that it was the best accommodation we had stayed in and we have been 'reunioning' for years. The house is spacious ,clean and comfortable but not too precious that you couldn't relax. We felt at home straight away and spent the majority of our time inside sitting round the huge kitchen table. We had glorious weather which is always a major bonus and meant we could make use of the bbq overlooking Rhossili bay. We had a couple of really long coastal walks with fabulous views and even fitted in a spot of surfing the morning we had to leave. The house really is in an excellent location with 360degree views. It comes highly recommended, we were really sad to leave.

We have recently had a fantastic holiday at Stormy Castle. The house is beautifully presented, with excellent facilities to cater for a large family/group, its a perfect home from home.
The location is simply idyllic, surrounded by beautiful countryside and nature, and stunning views of Rhossili Bay.

I've been camping at Hillend campsite for a few years' now but, Stormy Castle is another level.
A truly magnificent place of residents, everything you could possible want out of a holiday house is right there. Stormy Castle was spotless from top to bottom and housed my 14 mates without feeling like your stepping on one another's toes.
Stormy Castle can and does accommodate anyone both young & old, that's why I'll be booking a return visit with my wife and two little ones very soon.
If you're reading this I'm assuming you've already viewed Stormy Castles' website and seen the stunning photographs of the house & surrounding seascapes & landscapes...enough said!
In short Stormy Castle ticked every box I had:
Sleep 14 close friends = Tick
Close to beach = Tick - easiest of walks including carrying surfboard (8 to 10mins max
Close to Pub = Tick - easier than the beach (6 to 8mins)
Clean & Comfy = Tick Tick - Spotless and very comfy
My lasting memory of Stormy Castle:
Great friends sharing good times over ice cold beer while watching the sun set over Rossili Bay indulging in a BBQ from the garden at Stormy Castle...life is out there!

Stormy castle is a great house. Genuinely very close to the beach on a footpath over the downs feels like a private path most of the time - even with slow coaches 20 mins walks at a max. Views are stunning. Two staircases what more do kids want! Well equipped kitchen - great conservatory warm place for the elder members to sit and relax, two nice lounges, loads of land to run around in - brilliant kite flying. Great pub locally - again 20 mins walk maybe - use the road not the footpath - the alpacas are scary at night...

14 of us (all family) go on holiday every year and have been all over Wales and Cornwall - we've never been to the same place twice until now - just back from a week at stormy castle and we are already booking for next summer. The setting is incredible, perched on it's own hill, overlooking the amazing sand dunes and beach of Rhossilli bay - surely one of the world's most spectacular beaches. The weather wasn't always on our side but we had some great days and the sunsets could compete with anywhere. The house is very comfortable and really well equipped, there is a path straight down to the beach or onto a ridge walk over to Rhossilli where you will meet wild ponies and spectacular views. Surfers will not be disappointed, the beach is great for beginners and experienced surfers alike, depending on the tide and weather. The Gower itself has a lot to explore and there are things to do on the inevitable wet days. Thanks Stormy Castle, see you next year!!

I have stayed at Stormy Castle with a group of old friends for two years in a row and we have all had a great time on both occassions. The location is perfect for activities (watersports, walking, cycling) during the day and then sitting outside with a beer and a barbeque in the evening.
The house is isolated enough that you don't have to see anyone for your whole stay, if that's what you're after, but close enough to civilisation that after a five minute walk you can be sitting in the excellent local pub.
Although the 'headline' price is slightly more expensive that the holiday homes that I usually stay at, it is also much better decorated / equipped than most places I have stayed in and the beds are much comfier. In addition, if you fill the house (it sleeps 14) the costs comes right down.
I would strongly recommend this house to anyone looking for a high-quality holiday home with lots of private outdoor space that is within walking distance of a beach. In this regard, it must be an excellent place for large family holidays. -

Over the past few years, I have stayed at Stormy Castle on 4 different occations and have loved every single stay. Helen and Tom continually strive to improve the cottage and welcome any feedback following every visit to ensure that the service that they are offering is one of the best of the market.
The setting of this cottage is one of the main selling points, which is obvious from any photos that you will see of the landscape surrounding Stormy Castle. This, along with the extremely clean and comfortable rooms within the cottage makes Stormy one of my favourite places to stay all over the world! -

Left on 04/03/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We have holidayed at Stormy Castle for the last four years, in February, with two other families (6 adults & 8 children), and our annual stay there just gets better and better.
Stormy Castle provides ideal accommodation for large groups - the kitchen is fully equipped for mass catering, and the table is large enough for everyone to eat in one sitting. The detached annex, and two separate staircases, allow for a certain amount of privacy, if required, and the reading room is ideal if you have the odd anti social member within the group or you just fancy relaxing alone, with a gin and tonic, taking in the view! The feel of the house is spacious, light and airy, with tasteful modern furnishings, and the bedlinen and towels are of the highest quality. The property is always warm and cosy, from the minute we arrive, and there is plenty of hot water for baths and showers. We use the conservatory as a boot room, as it provides enough space for all 14 of us to get in and out of our wet weather/walking gear, and to leave all our muddy boots! Stormy Castle is located in the most perfect spot, with uninterrupted views across spectacular Rhossili Bay, and with Tesco Delivery available for your provisions, you could well spend the week there without using your car. Alternatively, there are numerous walks/beaches a short drive away to explore along the Gower Peninsula. The property is situated in 6 acres, which allows the children heaps of freedom, and provides a great setting for 'hide and seek' after supper in the evening! From Stormy Castle you can either walk down to the sandy dunes, or up onto the moorland within minutes and gain spectacular views of the bay. At the end of the three mile beach is a lovely cafe that serves good food and traditional teas and cakes - a welcome pit stop before heading on to Worm's Head. In summary, if you are looking to get away, with extended family or a group of friends, places don't get much more perfect than this!
