North Potomac, MDBeautiful view and house layout.
Left on 10/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The house is a very nice house for a family. The kitchen was redone and this was great. The bedrooms on the last floor need to have king size beds if they can fit in the rooms. However, these beds really need new mattresses. They are really uncomfortable.

Malvern, PAWe had a grand time!!
Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The house and location were great. Nice flat yard leading down to dock/lake. Was told there was a ladder to the dock; there was not! Wish Railey could control the weather; they do a great job.

Salisbury, MDBeautiful home, but disappointed that the hot tub was broken.
Left on 10/22/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We came to Deep Creek to get married. After reviewing many properties, as well as other rental companies. We finally decided on ambrosia, due to the lakefront view and inticing amenities. We looked forward to spending our wedding night relaxing in the hot tub and taking in the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, the hot tub wasn't working (and didn't get fixed) the entire time we were there. It was very disappointing.

Ashburn, VAPerfect House for us
Left on 08/02/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Much better than our two previous rentals with Railey. This house has a good floorplan and was in good repair. Great location and yard. Ample sized deck. Private dock. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes and silverware. The ice maker actually works! We were all very pleased and have signed up again for next year.

House offered space for teenagers, college students, aunts and uncles, grandma, and 2 shepherds. Lovely front yard for sunning, and dock was in quiet part of the lake. Lots of decks facing lake to watch the moon rise and the bats flit.

Family Reunion
MarylandBeautiful home!
Left on 02/20/2010 for a stay in February 2010
Ambrosia is a beautiful home, our favorite thus far! There were only two small problems.
First, we had asked for early arrival when we booked the house months before, but were told we would have to request it again the week of our stay. As we had family coming from Ohio, Indiana and Maryland, it would have been very nice to be able to check in at noon. We called the week of our stay and were told it could not be guaranteed due to the snow, and to call back later. We certainly understood that as we were also battling the snow. On Thursday before our visit we were told that we would have to call Friday. We told all our family that we would have to let them know Friday. As it turned out, not only was the home not ready by noon, it wasn't ready at 3 when we were told to check, and it wasn't ready at 4! It wasn't ready until almost 5:30, which meant we all had to sit in various parking lots waiting to get inside. That was both frustrating and embarrassing for us.
Second, the hot tub was not working properly so we called maintenance. We were told a person would be there within an hour, which was great b/c we wanted to go skiing. After almost two hours, we called again and were told the call had not relayed to the maintenance person. He did come then and promptly fixed the hot tub.
All in all it was a great experience, with only "administrative errors". We will likely want to rent the same house again.

Ellicott City, MDAmbrosia
Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in November 2009
The customer service at Railey was outstanding. They are always very accommodating. We very much enjoyed our stay at Ambrosia. The kitchen was stocked very well. If/when the refrigerator is replaced in the kitchen, I would recommend putting the old one in the utility room for extra fridge space. The view of the lake was breathtaking. On the less than positive side, I think that the electronics (tv, stereo equipment) could use updating. Most people now travel with IPOD's so an IPOD dock or two would be nice to have so that the travelers music can be played. Most of the beds were pretty uncomfortable and could used to be replaced. More bed pillows and blankets are needed. The sofa bed was broken in the lower level. We were counting on using that as a bed, but it was quite uncomfortable as it was broken on one side making it uneven. The decorations were a bit out of date (lots of bears). They were probably fine 7-8 years ago, but are quite dusty and worn now.

MarylandAmbrosia with great service
Left on 10/18/2009 for a stay in September 2009
After an easy check-in we arrived at the very clean house and enjoyed the holiday weekend. There were views of the lake from all the windows on 3 levels. We were specially impressed with the quick service we received when we requested gas for the grill and clorine for the hot tub. This house was much cleaner than Howard's End which we rented the year before. The parking was easy and adequate. This part of the lake was very calm but a bit shallow with a few weeks but we had fun kayaking and boating from the dock. On the downside, the lawn was covered with goose poop. It was a bit smelly. The downstairs in the house was clean but there was a smell like they had just cleaned the rugs with a chemical. We had plenty of towels for the bathrooms but we needed more kitchen towels for drying dishes. There could have been a few more utensils for cooking and some simple staples like salt and pepper at least. The store is fairly close-by so whatever we didn't bring we were able to easily buy. In summary, we all agree that we enjoyed our stay at Ambrosia and would certainly come back if our group is the same size next year.

All I can say is that it was a terrific vacation. Everything went great from
booking the house to checking in and of course the week on the lake. The
employees that I dealt with were very professional and helpful.
Ambrosia was a beautiful house in a perfect location. The house had a great
layout and was perfect for all our guests. The location of the house on the
lake was perfect. We had our own private cove. The house supplied everything
we wanted and needed. Everyone had the most enjoyable vacation. I would
highly recommend Railey Mt Lake vacation rentals, and especially the Ambrosia
house.

Manassas, VAAmbrosia -- A great place to stay at DCL
Left on 10/15/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We have rented through Railey Mtn for 5 years now, and Ambrosia is the first home that we would rent again. A huge plus for us was being on the water and having our chocolate lab with us, we all had a great time with Cheyenne jumping and swimming in the lake. The yard is very flat, which is hard to find at Deep Creek, great for corn hole and other outdoor games. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of room around the dining table for 12. Our only small complaint was that all the rooms had either a queen or double bed, which works great for couples, but not so great for older kids who don't want to share a bed. We had to use a few blow-up beds to get around this issue. The home is located in an area of the lake that allows for easy access to the town via boat or car, as well as quiet areas for tubing and skiing. Next time we head up to DCL, we will be trying to book Ambrosia again.

I loved this house. Very nice interior and a big yard. Perfect for dogs. We saw wildlife at night, so be careful with animals once it is dark. Would go back every year if I could. Very nice deck and hot tub underneath. Overall a great stay on the lake!
