Everything was great except that nobody has cleaned under the Livingroom furniture or under the beds in a good while.

Fairfax, VAExcellent lake house
Left on 08/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Great house, very roomy and well maintained. Everything was very clean, including the bathrooms. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood; surrounding houses were vacant most of the week. Gentle, easy sloped backyard to dock. Air conditioning was a wonderful thing. Called the office because the water in the hot tub looked kind of funny; they said it was probably just the high iron level but sent someone out within a couple of hours to re-check without any argument (it was fine). While we loved the peace and quiet of the very southern end of the lake, we did find there was a trade-off in it being such a distance to go for food, coffee, ice cream. But house was super.

Railey was great and everything was ready for us when we arrived. This is a great home on a nice piece of land that has an open dock area and shore line. This house had everything we needed that is why we have rented it 4 times now. What we liked the best was the open dock area. We were all able to sit by the water and enjoy watching my family and others. What we liked the least was the sofa beds. They have not been changed out for a long time. The family that slept on them said you could feel every spring and that led to some backaches. Other than the beds we had a terrific time this year and hope to be back for many years to come.

MarylandI Love Deep Summer!!!
Left on 11/08/2011 for a stay in October 2011
I stayed for four days at Deep Summer in October, and it was by far one of the best vacations I ever had! The house is spectacular with its open windows looking right onto the lake, the deck surrounding the entire back of the house, the beautiful wood structure of the entire house, the many, many rooms and bathrooms, and lastly, the hot tub. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, plates, and glasses. It it also extremely large with more than enough room to cook. The openness of the house is magnificent and can be seen as soon as you walk through the door. This house is incredibly beautiful with every ammenity anyone would need or want.

The home is very nice, great view, layout, etc. We're big foodies so we cook alot and found the kitchen not equipped with enough dishes, silverware and equipment. A good set of knives would be helpful. We had to run the dishwasher after every meal because we kept running out of dishes to eat on.

Dunkirk, MDloved the house - disappointed w/response to request for repair
Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We have stayed with Railey several times and have had no complaints (except last summer when house was dirty w/beds unmade upon check-in). This was the first time we stayed at Deep Summer, which was a lovely home. The only problem was the dishwasher: we used it twice and then it failed to work. We called Railey, who said that a repairman would be out that afternoon but no repairman came and no one called. We then called the office the next morning and the person at the desk said that she would relay the information to the Oakland maintenance office which wasn't open yet. I provided my cell # but no one left a message and the dishwasher was never repaired. I was forced to wash all dishes by hand for most of the stay which I wasn't happy about. I had to remove all of the dirty dishes from the broken dishwasher and wash those too. Also, as the home is up for sale, we received requests for prospective buyers to view the property. Not a problem except that I had extra dishes to do at a time when I wanted to relax and do things outside the home with my family, not get it presentable for a buyer. In addition, we had our dogs with us and we had to make sure that they were in their cage when the buyer was to come during two different windows (as well as when the repairman was supposed to come). I am mentioning this because although I know that the main priority was showing the house to a buyer, the dishwasher repair request went shouldn't have gone unaddressed. I know the sales office is a different entity than the rental office but still!

Pittsburgh, PAlake house review
Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Great location and the house was a lot of fun with many amenities. We thought it was ridiculous that we could not get keys to the house until 4pm, but had to turn them in the following Saturday at 10aM- effectively losing an entire day. There were multiple maintenance issues that needed to be addressed, but none so much that we felt the need to spend our time calling to have them fixed. We think it is wonderful that the property allowed dogs to join the family on vacation. The price for rental in DCL is higher than prices at oceanfront homes in multiple beach areas across the atlantic seaboard.

Silver SpringLove this house!
Left on 06/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Well, we already gave our feedback upon checkout about how we were disappointed with the jet tub blowing dirty water out, called it in, and no one came or called back. It was a bummer for "mom" cause that was one of the sell poitnts for Mom's day weekend. The grass was overgrown and they mowed it the morning we had to leave...and I killed over 100 flies the first day and more throughout the weekend. Like I said, the owner knows this and apologized for the problem. I think it just hadn't been rented for a while or something. The only reason I'm sending is because of your request, not to bug the owner.
So, with those things beside and who knew the weather was gonna be so bad we couldn't go on the dock...We still love the house and had a great time.
We really love the house, lawn, and deck - it is probably our favorite out of the 7 or 8 we've rented from Railey! Too bad we saw it is for sale, or maybe it will still be rentable in the future. Wish I could buy it!
When we called about the problem with the tub, the Railey staff was very kind. What more to say? We'll be back - I hope soon. Cheers, Tom -

This is a fantastic house with large bedrooms and plenty of rom for friends and family.
I would have given 5 stars if not for service delays on a few items needing attention that impacted our stay.
The owner was great, called and checked on our stay and came over to fix an issue we had with water pressure. -

We have always had a positive experience renting from RMLV and our last visit was no different. We did run into some significant challenges with our rental, but RMLV did an above average job at compensation. We will surely be back.
The house Deep Summer is an outstanding rental in an awesome quiet location (one of our favorites). The owner needs to fix the well situation, but definitely an outstanding house. -

Great house. Plenty large for 10-12 adults. Awesome views of the lake with a large deck and back yard to enjoy it. Wood burning fire place came in handy. Large stove for cooking big family dinners. Hot tub, pool table, and extra TV/movie room kept us busy. Had a great experience... will return.

The log home was beyond words! The only problem was the hot tub water was green and we did not use it. It needed to be drained and fresh water added.
Other than that the home was everything I thought it would be. I woud stay there again.
