Brighton-Le-Sands is located 12 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, on the western shore of Botany Bay.
Brighton-Le-Sands is a popular location for it's variety of cuisine and night-time entertainment. The Novotel Hotel is the dominant landmark, it contains a restaurants, bars and a food court. Brighton-Le-Sands RSL which is a popular meeting place for locals is located opposite the Novotel in Bay Street.
The area has been dubbed 'Little Greece by the Bay’ for its many Greek cafés, restaurants and businesses. Restaurants include Mezes, Gecko (cesar salads), Kamari (slow roasted lamb), Little Sicily (great pizzas), Café Neptune, Zandes, One Bay, The Lazy Lobster, Bay Vista, Souvlaki Bar, Botany Bay Seafood, Petar’s Seafood, EuroBay, Le Sands Brasserie (on the beach), Gang Thai and La Rousse French as well as Bay Espresso in Bay Street for the best coffee.
Take-away food shops are also abundant, particularly for seafood, chicken, cakes and gelato. The Kiosk down on the beach is also popular for local mothers who can have a chat over coffee while watching the children play on the sand just metres away. Other Shops and services include a Coles supermarket (7am to 10pm), bank, post office, clothing, jewellery, hair dressers, doctors and fishing supplies.
Lady Robinson Beach (originally known as Seven Mile Beach) and Cook Park run along the border of Brighton-Le-Sands, and Botany Bay. A shared paved walkway and cycleway runs the length of Cook Park from Kyemagh to Sandringham (Approx 7 km) and is popular with both walkers, joggers and cyclists especially on weekends. For cyclists it provides access to the Homebush Bay Cycle route (North from Kyemagh), and the Cronulla to Kurnell cycleway via the Captain Cook Bridge (South), and also forms part of the Sydney Costal Walk.
