      very nice secluded cabin

Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in October 2012

we only stayed for a weekend for the western carolina, appalation state football game. the cabins are only about 15 min from the western carolina campus. we had the romancer and it was very nice with a jucuzzi tub, queen size bed and full kitchen. it was at the end of a row of 7 cabins. i think next time we will go for the honey mooner (it has a king size bed). rates were comparable to hotel and much nicer to have your own cabin in the woods.

We look forward to having you visit us again - and maybe App State won't win next time! Glad you enjoyed the "mini Romancer" but we know you'll like the Romancer, too. Thank you for your review. Reading what other guests have to say is so much better than the property owner bragging...although we think we have lots to brag about! Michele

Great time, great hosts, centrally located for us

Left on 10/24/2012 for a stay in October 2012

First time back in this area in many, many years, now wish we had done it sooner. Large cottage shared with friends, old cottage, but provided everything we needed. Can't say enough about the hosts/owners, the McMahons, had the items we requested to make homemade cookies waiting for us at the cottage, and answered all our questions and needs. Nothing better than a cool October night in front of a fire with home made chocolate chip cookies. Beautiful area, made better by sharing with friends, will be back as often as we can get there. No better example of old america with the mom/pop ownership (and daughter) and dedication to customer's wants and needs. Beautiful start to a great vacation.

      Simply Perfection

Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The whole experience was wonderful, easy and made me feel so welcomed! Maqelle assisted me in booking my reservation when I first called. It was my husband's 30th Birthday and I wanted to surprise him. Maquelle was amazing! She went and made a welcome basket for his Birthday, which he absolutely loved! She upgraded us as a surprise upon our arrival from a one bedroom cottage to a two bedroom. Which was so wonderful because our little 6 yr old could have her own room and we ended up invited my parents as a treat to them. It was great. So unexpected, and so appreciated.

Location; So easy to get to from all directions within the Blue Ridge. So tranquil and we felt so welcome and safe. A true home away from home experience.

Cleanliness: Unbelievable! I rate it a 10! Everything was clean. From one corner to the next. Clean towels and clean linens on the beds. You can tell they take pride in their cottages and the experience for the guest.

Amenities: A trout pond! Wonderful. You can catch and grill! Have a fire if you wish and sit around a toast marsh mellows. Just sit outside and listen to the trickling brooks that surround this wonderful sanctuary. There is a quiet place, a cute cabin that you can go and view the brook and sit and read a book. Hiking trails is you choose.

Shopping: Shopping centers are within a good driving distance.

Comfort: The beds were so comfortable. This is a big big Deal for me. I cannot sleep if a place is not clean, and if the bed is not clean. I had no problem, sleeping here. The bed was more comfy than the one at my own home, LOL. Loved it!!

Thank you Maqelle for making this weekend so pleasurable for my husband and I and the rest of my family that visited. We will be back! Your a lovely Person- much appreciated!

I Wish I Could Live at Mountain Brook Cottages!

Left on 05/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012

wow! wow! wow! Mountain Brook Cottages is a one of kind gem. I found my favorite place in the world, all by accident, over 15 years ago and have been going back ever since. This is the most beautiful, serene, and fun place you will ever have the pleasure of staying. You enter as a stranger but you leave as family. The world keeps changing for the bad and the good, but Mountain Brook stays the best!

Fun in the mountains building lots of fires in our cottage!!!

Left on 03/28/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We love Mountain Brook Cottages! It is a total get-a-way from everything. It is so nice to be away from the phone, tv, computer, etc. We were forced to spend time in nature taking walks, building fires, hunting for rocks, reading, resting, cooking, and chatting with Gus and Michele. Everything was perfect. So clean, warm-fuzzy feelings there in our cozy cottage!
