Mountain View, CATahoe Weekend
Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in May 2013
There were some issues that did not reflect a high-dollar rental. The lightbulbs located in the upstairs bathroom were not working. The firewood was not dry enough and it took extra effort to get fires going. The furniture in the living room was not comfortable for this price range and it was dirty. The cabin's grounds were also littered with trash, wiring spools, think pine needles on the entryway steps, and various landscaping clippings. The front patio area was lacking chairs/table for usage.
My work involves a great deal of customer service work and the little things are always important. I suggest the owners of this cabin pay more attention to the little things when asking for a high rental cost.
Unfortunately, I would not return to the property because there are many others out there for rent. -

SacramentoA perfect weekend!
Left on 04/13/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This renyal property was the perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway. I wouldn't have minded staying longer in this rental. The hot tub was very nice to endure in the snowy weather. We failed to bring newspaper with us so the fireplace was of no use but overall this is a very cozy rental property and I will be renting it again in the future.

Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Great overall experience. The cabin was well furnished and the hot tub was a great amenity. Plenty of beds for 6 people.
A couple of negatives:
- No dishwasher fluid
- Steps were frozen solid and not defrosted. This caused a couple of people to fall making their way in and out of the cabin. I would expect the steps to be cleared before we arrived -- it was literally a sheet of ice! -

Cupertino, CASuper Happy with the Cabin
Left on 09/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This was my first time renting a cabin in Tahoe, we usually stay with friends at their cabin or stay at the Hyatt or Squaw Valley Lodge. This vacation was different--our dog sitter was not available so we needed to find a cabin that was dog friendly. I loved everything about this cabin. My favorite was the deck, the location, everything was clean, and the well stocked with nice quality items in the kitchen. I actually brought my own saute pans thinking theirs would be gross, yet I never had to take my out of the box! The cabin was for my husband and myself as our children are off at college. There was no fenced yard so we ended up taking our dogs with us on our daily trips exploring Tahoe. I did find it a very dog friendly cabin! The must do at the cabin is enjoy the upper deck outside of the master bedroom, a view you will never forget--I actually felt like a bird soaring above the
trees! I truly enjoyed our stay and I thank the owners for sharing their home :)

This was our 2nd visit to the Darling Delight. We love the location and proximity to Sunnyside, hot tub, use of beach and tranquility. We have a dog and thought it was so cute when the dogs in the neighborhood would come over to visit and relax on the deck! We will be back again!

it was a nice place, but we were given the wrong code to get in and we had a hard time finding the house, as we were told it was a dirt road and the last house on the road, well it was the only house on the right hand side of the street and they said it had a red roof and there was no red roof, we kept passing it looking for a red roof. once we finally got everything right it was find. also there should be a sign at the bottom of the driveway saying your name not on the window on the house. Left on 02/16/2011 for a stay in February 2011
The cabin was well equipped for a relaxing four night stay. The size of the cabin is perfect for four people. Despite several weeks of no precipitation, the steep driveway was icy and the stairs to the cabin from the road didn't seem to have been recently cleared. Note that the interior stairs to be upper bedroom and bathroom are particularly steep and may be an issue for seniors.

New YorkPerfect for Couple
Left on 01/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This cabin is perfect for a couple, ok for four, and extremely tight for six. It is a cute but very small space. Small but comfortable bedroom and bath; excellent, well-equpped kitchen. Lots of books, games and Dvds. Very little storage--closets full of linens. A couple of winter caveats. You must have chains or 4x4--road to cabin and driveway were a sheet of ice (as is the walkway). The upstairs loft is intended for children (small chairs and aBC rug) but wholly inappropriate for small children because the staircase is at a 75 degree angle (more like a ladder)--would be quite dangerous. Also the loft is freezing. Finally windows/door in the back of the house is blocked off in winter making it rather dark. While the house is reasonably private, almost all of the trees behind the house have been cut down to create a view for the McMansions on the hill that look down on the cabin. The front porch with the hot tub, however, is fairly secluded. A god bargain.

Manager
Thank you for your review! Just a note from the management. During winter months the back of the home receives large levels of snow fall therefore reinforced doors and windows are a must due to the extra weight against the home. The shutters are removed in the spring, summer and fall. This is all part of living in the Tahoe basin. Several years ago there was a forest fire on many acres behind this home. The trees were not cut, they were burned by the fire.
We realize most people do not understand the quirks of mountain living. There is a reason for everything. If you do not understand something you see, please ask. We would be more than happy to explain. Darling Delight is one of our most popular homes. Many guests return to this home again and again. Thanks again for your comments. Pullen Rental Management. -

Left on 10/08/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Very comfortable and beautiful place. The setting and deck were far better than the pictures indicated. Place was well equipped and I would highly recommend this place for a couple or very small group. Only issue is that the steps leading to the second bedroom are not to code and are very dangerous. If you don't need the second bedroom and bath, this is the place for you.

Left on 09/22/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The cabin is adorable and exactly what we wanted: an intimate space for 2. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was updated and nice. The hot tub was great. The deck was perfect. The only downer was the recent tree work; the adjacent woods had been gutted and it was secondarily a bit dusty. I hope it was just a necessary pruning and not an ominous harbinger.

Left on 07/08/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We have stayed at the Darling Delight 3 times now and just booked another week in august!
This place has a fantastic location...and is very private! The deck is the best feature and a great place to hang out and drink your morning coffee as well as have dinner out under the pine trees and stars...the jacuzzi is awesome to come home to after a long day of mountain bike riding. We bring our dogs every time and they love running around the property and walking down to the dog beach every day! (right next to the Sunnyside).
The kitchen has everything you could want, they just put in a new TV, added movies and tons of books to read. The bed downstairs is the most comfortable bed ever!
If we could buy this place we would...in the meantime we will continue to make this place an annual treat for ourselves!
I'm sure you too will be a repeat guest if you pick the Darling Delight! -

renting vacation homes can be a gamble. most just don't feel very clean or tidy and the amenities are lacking... pullen does things right. this cabin was exactly as described and it was clean. all amenities from kitchen tools to extra towels etc was plenty and the gift basket loaded with goodies was an unexpected bonus. the home was comfortable for myself, husband and dog and we enjoyed our stay immensely and cannot wait to go back. it's location is perfect - near tahoe city proper and close to many of the nearby activity parks. the private beach access was also nice. overall excellent. highly recommended.

Left on 06/12/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We really enjoyed our 5 days at this cabin. We didn't think the pictures on the website did it justice - the deck and hot tub are really great, the kitchen is very nice, the bedrooms are very comfortable. Everything was very high quality and perfect for a couple or a small family to relax and enjoy the lake. The cabin is in an ideal location about 2 miles from Tahoe City, across the street from the lake, and just a minute from Sunnyside. One small request - the speakers in the living room didn't seem to be working very well. Other than that, the place was perfect!

Left on 04/07/2010 for a stay in March 2010
It was a pleasant surprise that the cabin was filled with wonderful books and movies. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils/pots you could need.
The only big issue was that we were there during a snow storm. The home instructions said there was a bucket filled with de-icer and snow shovels should you need them. Neither items were anywhere to be found and when we called the office, they said the maintenance service would come to take care of it but never did. There was a snow blower on the deck, but it was non-functional. We had 2 feet of snow outside the front door that we had to navigate around, and the office never called us back to follow up on our status. This was very disappointing and made going and coming out of the cabin difficult as we have 2 smaller children.Response from Pullen Rental Group - 04/11/2010
Manager
Thank you for your review! We appreciate being notified of this oversight. We would have preferred to take care of these things during your stay. It is always good to call and communicate with our staff as we are open 7 days a week, and have an after-hours service to answer any calls that come into our office. We do receive numerous calls during winter storms but we do eventually reach everyone who contacts us. We are pleased that you enjoyed the home. The Staff at Pullen Rental Group.

We absolutely loved the cabin. It snowed the whole time we were there and the hot tub made it perfect. Everything was well kept and the accomodations were very modern and clean. The only complaint we had is that the check-out sheet kept talking about a washer/dryer which we never seemed to find...

We loved this house! Our 2 girls loved the house, especially having their own
loft. Very peaceful and quite. The kitchen is fantastic, we cooked both nights
and found everything we needed. The location is great, so close to Tahoe City
and ski resorts. We did need to put chains on to get up the driveway since it
snowed during our stay (the description also pointed this out). We would
definitely stay here again! -

My girlfriend and I loved the cabin. It was totally as advertized. The decor inside and updated kitchen were great. The outdoor hot tub was once of the best I have ever been in. The locationw was perfect. Close to town but in a private setting.
The ONLY complaint I had was the fireplace. There was no grate to set logs on and very little kindling to start a fire easily. We got it to work, but it could have been better prepared.
Other than that we had an awesome time. We'll keep it in mind for another trip! -

Las Vegas, NevadaDarling Delight Cabin Review
Left on 12/07/2009 for a stay in May 2009
The people I worked with at the Pullen Rental Group were fantastic and very helpful in every way. The decsription of where to find the lock box was wrong as the lock box had moved to next to the front door and was hard to find when we arrived at nighttime. Other than that the Darling Delight Cabin was fantastic and we would definetly stay there again. Very close to the beach. The only thing that would make it better is if they upgraded the unit to a nicer and bigger TV, maybe at least a 32" LCD. Had a great time, and can't wait to go to Lake Tahoe again.
