San Diego, CaliforniaAwesome Vacation
Left on 02/08/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The Silver Tip cabin is fantastic. Everything was clean, orderly, and comfortable. The hot tub was awesome after a long day of skiing, just make sure to bring towels. The veiw of the lake is great but not tremendous, more like, you can see the lake through the trees. The owner stocks plenty of firewood in the garage and there is a gas BBQ. The wood stove gets the upstairs incredibly warm. Cable TV is not provided so bring some Dvds unless you really enjoy Tnt's feature programing. The sound system is great and there are even speakers outside on the deck. There are some assorted cooking spices, but you'll probably want to bring your own as well as cooking oil. All the cooking utensils you will need are there. We skied Squaw Valley and alpine Meadows, the cabin is in a good spot for those places. In all, the cabin is well worth the price.

This house is great. We had five in our party but the house could have easily accommodated a few more. It's located in the hills above sunnyside and has a beautiful (if filtered) view of the Lake down below. It's an easy drive into town to pick up groceries, etc. The house was clean and and comfortable with all the modern amenities (WiFi, a big screen, etc.)There is a fairly long hill to get up to this residence so make sure you have four wheel drive or chains on your car before attempting it in the winter!

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect: the location, the house, bedrooms, terrace witha hot tub, plenty of utensils, towels, linen.
And we could spend our short vacation with our dog!
Thank you! -

Nice location and view from the deck, we were well prepared with chains but glad we never had to use them. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was plenty warm/cosy (and just big enough for our group of 5). Slightly apprehensive about doing the rounds for a 10am checkout but we were on our way to the slopes by 9. :)

The house was in great condition, and close to all the major resorts that we wanted to ski. There are some steep roads leading up to the house, so if you are staying there during a snowstorm, be sure you have adequate traction on your car. The three bedrooms are comfortable, and the hot tub on the deck is a nice bonus after a long ski day.
Also, there is a barbecue in the garage, so if the need grabs you, you can grill up some steaks for dinner. The two-car garage is fairly big, and manage to fit our full-size suburban. -

We were very happy with the Silver Tip House. There is a nice view of the lake from the deck (a nice deck with hottub) and some view from the house. The livingroom is small, but with just the two of us it was fine. We liked that it was up the hill from Sunnyside on Lake Tahoe, we like the west shore and this location very much. It was fun to discover that you could walk to Page Meadows from this location or just drive to the end of Silver Tip and be practically there. I would recomend the house.

El Cerrito, CANice house but needs allot of TLC
Left on 09/21/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The house was adequate and well located and it was nice to have access to the private beach. However the house was not very clean (furniture was dusty) the condition of the carpets was absolutely horrible. We called to tell the management team and they told us, "oh we haven't been up there in awhile". No offer to send a cleaning crew up with a carpet cleaner. Also before we rented this property I read a similar review and wrote the management staff voicing my concerns and received a very curt response. I hoped for the best and that the answer I received from the management meant that this situation had been address. Unfortunately it was not. The downstairs bathroom has a extremely bad black ant problem. I had my 11 month old daughter and had to watch her very closely. There is also a board on the deck that someone should look at. Overall we had a great time but this house definitively needs some TLC also it is very high on the hill so please note you will be driving everywhere.
Response from Tahoe Getaways - 09/24/2011
Manager
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and make us aware of the situation. I apologize if your concerns were not given serious attention. Upon receipt of this response, we immediately sent a professional carpet cleaning service to the house. We are also in the process of getting a quote to replace the carpeting in the entire house.
As for the ant problem, this is definitely the first we have heard about it and will be sure to schedule a pest control visit immediately. We have also taked our handy-man to take a look at the deck.
Again, thank you for taking the time to bring these issues to our attention and we will see to it that all items have been remedied.

Loved it from Napa
Napa, CANice, quiet, comfy, clean with a view house we will surly stay i
Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The only thing the property management did not tell us, which was very upsetting at 10:00 PM,after driving for 6 hours from Napa, due to a car fire accident...the lock box is on the side of the house, totally in the dark...other than that, there was a 3X3' filthy spot in the carpet as soon as you walked through the front door, not much of a greeting!! The smoke alarm in the downstairs bedroom was going off. And the 10:00 departure time we felt was a bit early due to us doing all the dishes and stripping the beds, and starting the laundry..we felt a noon check out time was sufficient. But the rest of the stay was great.

Deck & hot tub were wonderful; spent as much time on the deck as we could; filtered view of lake was very pleasant. Interior of house, though comfortable & pleasant, was a little dated. We would come again though.

Great house, would only change two things.
1) Fix all the hot tub jets and neck cushions.
2) get a new, more comfortable mattress in the master and guest bedrooms. The existing mattresses are very hard and uncomfortable.
Other than that it was very nice and lots of fun. -

Sunnyvale, CAGreat house, very poor cleaning service
Left on 02/04/2011 for a stay in August 2010
The house was dirty, hair of all sort and sizes in the bathroom. Dusty. We found toys and other stuff that belong to previous visitors. I was 7 month pregnant and did not intend my baby moon to include cleaning.
I was refunded the cleaning fee but I think I deserved a bigger refund. -

Winnemucca, Nevadafun holiday
Left on 01/04/2011 for a stay in December 2010
The home was very cozy and comfortable with nice fully equipped kitched and large dining room table which worked well for Christmas dinner. Loved the hot tub on the deck overlooking Lake Tahoe.
The steep road to the house was treacherous following an overnight snow and we had to chain up the vehicles even the 4Wd's. Lost traction driving down the hill the first time without chains. Drivers beware and obey the warning sign!
Another problem was very noisy baseboard heaters. We were kept awake at night when they turned on. -

The place was very nice and the view wonderful. However, it was extremely dusty, the internet connection worked only part of the time and we were unable to get any assistance from the rental place when we needed it. The place I would recommend but it should be better managed and cared for.

SF Bay AreaCozy place, bad night's sleep
Left on 03/19/2010 for a stay in March 2010
We were pleased with everything about our rental experience (Tahoe Getaways included). The place was comfortable for 6 people + dogs. A bonus that there was no fee for dogs. Nice view of the lake and beautiful snowshoeing trails walking distance from the cabin. Our only complaint was that people sleeping in the 2 bedrooms downstairs were tortured all night by a very loud creaking/whining noise coming from an unidentifiable source. Water pipes? Heating unit? We couldn't figure it out, but it vibrated the rooms and woke us up every couple of hours. The couple sleeping upstairs didn't notice the sound. We were disappointed not to feel well rested after a 3-day stay in the mountains. I'd give this place 4 or 5 stars if this problem could have been resolved.

This house was perfect. Beds were comfortable and the whole place was clean. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics and a lot more. The hot tub was great after a long day outdoors. It snowed more than 10" one night and the driveway was cleared by the time we woke up. I will be returning.

Santa Cruz, CAGreat deck, view, and location but overloved home
Left on 07/23/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We all felt that the home wasn't property cleaned. The windows were dirty which obstructed the view. The sofa was somewhat dirty as well. It was obvious that dogs had been up on the sofa.
We liked the location and would consider returning to the area next year, but we wouldn't stay in this home again.
Also, the bed in master suite was too firm.
