Carmichael, CAIncredible cabin!!!
Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We always hoped to stay at this amazing cabin and we were so thrilled by our experience. The owner, who is likely, also a master carpenter/architect, did such a great job in maximizing every square inch of the cabin, so you fell like you're in a much larger place. I was blown away by the craftsmanship and eye for design. So comfy and I love to cook and was so impressed by the vast selection of cooking gear. The hot tub is lovely and the cabin sits up high, so you feel like you're up in a tree house. This cabin is our favorite place in Tahoe and we will be back. It's always sad to leave such a wonderful place...

Very comfortable layout and nice amenities. Granlibakken was great and very close for our young boys to saucer the hill! Rustic pine motif. Great functional fireplace. Only thing missing was a microwave, but it was nothing the Kitchenaide oven couldn't remedy. The Wandering Labradors were great fun. We will be back.

Our family enjoyed this cabin immensely. The location was perfect, close enough to the ski resorts and grocery stores. If you are wanting a true cabin experience, we believe we experienced it. We would definitely go through Tahoegetaways again.

Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in December 2012
My Wife and I rented the Sunnyside Cottage with another couple for the Christmas Holiday and it was perfect. The cabin was recommended by Beth at Tahoe Getaways and everyone loved the space and the location was ideal. The service by Beth and the team was top notch as always and we will be renting again soon!

San FranciscoGreat Cabin - stay could have been a little better, though...
Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This is a great little cabin for a family or small group of friends. We were just a couple, so had plenty of room inside and out. It's quaint and classy and well appointed. Very quiet and in a good location as well.
We had a nice overal stay, but a couple of clear inconveniences as well. Our first morning of a 3 day stay, we returned from getting a cup of coffee to find close to a dozen landscapers and 3 trucks doing significant work to the grounds. We had wanted nothing more than to chill out at the home for most of the day after some stressful city livin', but the commotion (leaf blowers, digging, people running around, trucks, etc) displaced us and we had to go elsewhere. No one had bothered telling us this might occur during our stay or scheduling the work when the place was vacant, and for such a short visit, we weren't thrilled about being displaced from the home we'd just rented. Pretty inexcusable for a 'romantic cabin'. I sent a note to the rental company mentioning the situation and expressing our initial thoughts - didn't receive a response from them at all.
We're all for pet friendly places, but there was a good bit of dog hair all over the floors and some furniture. We had heard the owners were at the home before us - if that's the case, show a little respect to those renting your home and clean it! If it wasn't the owners before us, then the $160 'cleaning' fee that is charged per visit is a total scam.
We're not the squeaky wheel type, but felt mentioning this was important for the owners and rental company to take into consideration. It's a great place, shouldn't be too easy to diminish one's stay, but...

Reno, NevadaA great Tahoe style cottage!
Left on 07/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The pictures of the cabin were spot on. What a well crafted Tahoe cabin, cute in every way. It was small but our family of 8 fit in quite well. The kitchen was well equiped and the sleeping accomodations were more then adequate. Another visitor mentioned the roaming dogs, yes, their were two Golden Retrivers but they were very friendly.
We would definitely rent this cute Tahoe style cottage again. -

Really wonderful place. The house is very cute and rather upscale. Great location and neighborhood - nice walks along the creek. The kitchen could be a bit small for a larger group. There are friendly neighborhood dogs around, which for us was a positive.

Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This was a great place for my family. The house and yard are beautiful, and the location perfect. The only downsides were the broken hot tub cover (difficult to open and close) and the large dogs that roam the neighborhood. The dogs seemed friendly, but I didn't trust my 2 year old to be out around them.

Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We had a wonderful time. Our small but darling house was completely remodeled and very comfortable. The hot tub was set at the perfect temp and ready to use when we arrived. The garden was immaculate. The home was just a few blocks to Sunnyside which also was a nice surprise!! We look forward to booking another home very soon. Last but not least, our reservation takers were helpful and check in was easier than expected! I highly recommend Tahoe Getaways!! Debbi DiMaggio, Partner/Realtor highland partners, Piedmont, Ca

Fairfield, CAAlmost like home
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The cabin was really comfortable and we didn't feel like we were missing anything from home there.
However, the only reason I didn't rate the stay 5 stars was the hot tub:
1) It wasn't very clean
2) The tub needs a walkway to it, its not fun stepping onto bark when getting out
3) The tub also needs a ladder, and not just a big rock to step onto when getting in/out. -

Oakland, CaliforniaThe house and location is magical, perfectly lovely!
Left on 02/05/2011 for a stay in November 2010
This is an absolutely adorable, charming house that is very true to the pictures posted. My friends and I loved it and really enjoyed our stay there. It was well equipped, comfortable, cozy, and was really well done. Totally loved it! I thought the service from Tahoe Getaways post-rental could have been more customer oriented and friendly, I've experienced better with other rental agencies in the area and I was not impressed with them. I felt it was a disservice to the house because the house itself is a fantastic property.

Los AltosCharming and quiet
Left on 02/04/2011 for a stay in August 2010
I stayed for 3 nights of solitude and quiet. It's an adorable cottage for a couple or small family. The master bedroom is up a flight of very narrow, steep stairs which would not work for people with access concerns. The master bedroom is in an open loft. There is a sink and toilet upstairs, but no shower, so privacy could be a problem if too many adults try to use the cottage.

San FranciscoCozy Cabin
Left on 01/28/2011 for a stay in December 2010
This place is what I expect a cabin be. Very beautiful, very romantic. Decorated perfectly. We couldn't get the heated floors to work though. Also the internet wouldn't work. Also, the most important flaw to make note of is that the water heater had barely enough heat to accommodate one person. We were two people and had to get out of the shower quickly because the water would get cold. It states that 8 people can stay there. There's no way they can all take showers. Huge issue if you ask me, especially after a long day skiing in the cold. The jacuzzi was hot and perfect though, we made use that for sure.

San FranciscoAmazing house!
Left on 04/23/2010 for a stay in March 2010
The house is perfect! like a fairy tale! In a gorgeous surrounding, close to Tahoe City and the best skiing resorts.
and so beautifully decorated! so stylish! We were 7 adults (European size :) and didn't find it small (it said so in the review). The jacuzzi was very nice too after skiing!
The only little issue is that the ramp to the house might be a bit tough if there's snow as it gets icy in the night. So make sure to clean the pathway at the bottom.
The agency service was very good. We arrived late but it was very easy to get the key and leave it back, all well thought of. We had a problem with the lock and they came and fixed it very quickly. All extremely easy and nice.
And also conveniently in Tahoe City check Dave's for rentals, in front of the agency and Rosie's.
The stay was the best we ever had in Tahoe! no doubt we'll repeat!

We cannot say enough how fabulous our stay at Sunnyside Cottage was. The cabin itself was described as very small but was perfectly adequate for 2 families of 4. We did not find it too small at all. The furnishings and decor are superb, it is amazingly well stocked in the kitchen. Hot tub was on and piping hot - scenery was stunning - we never ventured out after a day's skiing, perfect to stay in, chat by the cosy log fire. Only comment would be it does not have a microwave - fine that it doesn't but would be handy to know before you got there but other than that cannot fault it - would highly recommend, loved it!

Carmel, CAWonderful Vacation!
Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in March 2010
Loved this cabin and the location! It was the perfect cabin for our small
family, 2 adults and 2 boys. Although it's on the smaller size - the floor plan
and furnishing were very well thought out and it didn't feel crowed at all. The
kitchen was very well equipped and fun to cook in. It decorated perfectly -
simple and rustic, no "cheesy" cabin feel to it. Would definitely stay in the
cabin again. The only draw back was that the yard is not fenced in and the
neighbors let their big dogs run loose (all day and night) and while they are
super friendly dogs (and I kind of felt sorry for them), we didn't feel
comfortable letting our small boys play outside while the dogs were in the
yard, which was often.
We are thinking of buy a cabin in Tahoe and this would be the exact look and
location we would want. I highly recommend this cabin for a family vacation. -

New York CityWell appointed rental
Left on 02/18/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We LOVED this rental. It's a small place but is very smartly laid out and well appointed. It had everything that we needed for our ski weekend. We were 15 minutes away from Squaw & Alpine and 5 minutes away from town. The hot tub was hot and ready for us upon our arrival. The bathroom fixtures were nice (loved the heated stone floors!) and the kitchen was great! It had everything that we needed to cook great meals and the dishwasher was a definite bonus. It was also wonderful to have the washer/dryer (esp to dry towels after the hot tub) and everyone had down comforters & pillows on their bed. We would definitely rent this place again and I recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Tahoe.
