      October 2012 at Lake Tahoe

Left on 11/04/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Red Wolf Lodge, Tahoe Vista is right on the lake and has a beautiful beach and pool area that looks out over Tahoe. The grounds are quite nice, clean, and kept up. There are a few squirrels and some beautiful crested blue jays. Trees and gardens were lovely. Everyone has assigned parking so no problem finding a spot. We were nicely greeted by the office person and she told us about the lodge, day activities and mentioned some restaurants.

We rented a Studio which was very small even for the two of us! There is a Murphy bed that was fine. The kitchen had newer utensils and appliances. Everything was clean. I was surprised there was no soap in the bathroom. A minor problem with the toilet was quickly addressed the next day while we were out. Internet is very slow.

The lodge is on a busy street but we were far enough back that noise was not a problem for us. There is a nice Italian restaurant within walking distance and a full grocery store.
If I was to stay again at the Lodge I would get a bigger unit. It is particularly nice Lodge if you want to lounge lakeside and just relax. They have Bbqs and picnic tables besides the pool/spa area. Even grass for the kids to run on.

      Clean, friendly, rustic, lake front

Left on 01/13/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We had stayed at Redwolf a number of years ago, so this is our second time here. Both times, we found the staff friendly, the accommodations (we are in the older section in a one-bedroom single story unit) quite satisfactory, and the distance from here to north Tahoe ski resorts very good. (Our preferred ski resort is Diamond Peak which, too, is friendly, family oriented, and very affordable.) Our bed is comfortable, and the resort is quiet. The outside hot tub is working, and we see people using it every day. The last time we were here, we stayed in a unit where the jacuzzi bathtub wasn't working. This time, everything is in great working order. The resort offers you a selection of daily newspapers and delivers your choice to your door every morning between 7:00 and 8:00.

The only complaint we have is that the wood floors creak and the stone accents on the floor make the floor uneven. It feels like you're going up hill when you go into the bathroom.

Redwolf also has daily activities for its guests. We have found few resorts that still do this.
