      Wonderful stay

Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013

The rental was conveniently located allowing easy access to MRT, buses etc. It was clean and spacious for 2 people. Landlord was immediately responsive to requests. He helped to make ride arrangment and late check in. We really appreciate all his help. Place matches photo pretty well. You will not be disappointed.

      Convenient Location but Unfriendly Reception

Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012

It was our first experience in staying at a vacation rental / apartel and I must say that the feeling was of nostalgia. However, the whole stay and post experience made us swore off apartel / vacation rentals.

First, we had quite a hard time locating the apartment/ condomimum as the map was not really helpful. When we finally found the place, lugguage and all, we were "greeted" by a sourly looking condomium guard who obviously knew why we were there and gave a call to the management/reception of the apartel, someone on 13th floor.

As we were arrived 15 minutes earler to the appointed 4 pm check-in, we were told to come back half an hour later as check-in must start at 4pm. When we finally met the apartel reception, the staff looked hot, flustered and overworked. We were told a barage of rules of conditions of staying in an apartel and reminded that it is not a 'hotel" and that you cannot come in too "late". we asked how "late" is "late" and to be told - 11 pm where the gates would be locked.

We stayed for a total of 3 nights and we would get the sourly reception from the condo security and the residents in the condo most of the time. They obviously do not welcome the idea that condo was rented out as a short-term hotel. (this was what we found out after plucking courage to inquire on the sourly reception). I am also not too sure of the legality of renting such a place, and certainly do not want to be embroiled into such matters.

The apartel is as advertised - clean, convenient place to stay but I am pretty sure I can a proper hotel in a good location with the similar budget. (Have stayed in Taipei in a previous trip.)

It's a very convenient and private place.

Left on 08/21/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The hotel one or more floor(s) of an apartment which its location is very convenient to reach MRT Shuanglian within few mins and you can also walk to Zhongshan station where has many shops for dining and shopping abit farer is Taipei Main Station...if the weather is nice you can also have a walk there' cos the neighbourhood around there is nice. Nearby also has a night market, you could get something to eat there. That's all for location. For the room, very very clean n the hotel provides you all necessary stuff. However, due to this is an aparthotel so the reception doesn't work 24/7 so you have to tell them in advance about your arrival. They are nice and welcome to service you. Enjoy!!!

      Convenient

Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Pros: Centrally located and fairly cheap. Plenty of storage space (drawers under the stairs, closet near the bed, closet in the living room). Soft mattress (not firm/rock hard as is typical of Taiwanese residences). Lots of outlets and lights. Free Wifi. Welcome bag of snacks.

Cons: The room smelled faintly of cigarette smoke which did linger on my clothing. The sheets felt like polyester or rayon (not soft like cotton). While there is a closet near the bed, and a "shelf", there are no drawers. The bathroom becomes very humid despite using the bathroom vent. The air conditioner blows directly on you while you sleep, and doesn't adequately cool the lower floor. If you're taller than 5'8" you may hit your head as some areas of the room have low ceilings.

Oddities: The room is a bit oddly designed. The steps to the loft are taller than a typical steps (and are difficult to see in the middle of the night). The bathroom has large windows that directly face a reflective surface/mirror in the kitchen. Although this window is covered with a translucent covering (see their picture titled "modernized and stylish decoration") you can see into the bathroom. Unless you use the handheld shower head (as opposed to leave it hanging), you're likely to get the bathroom all wet.

Directions from Shuanglian Station. Use Exit 1. Turn left onto Minsheng East Rd as you're exiting from Exit 1. Cross Chengde Rd and turn left onto Chengde Rd (at the intersection with the overhead walkway). Turn Right onto Wuyuan Rd. The building is on the right.

A big plus for my stay in Taipei

Left on 04/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012

This place is probably the best I have ever stayed during my frequent visits to Taipei in the last few years. The staff are thoughtful, helpful, and very conscientious. They are the friendly and attentive folks I always remember and so value back home. With the security and effectiveness provided in the building, this place gives me a great comfort and ease of mind knowing that I could always count on whoever in the office to attend to my need in a timely manner. It's a terrific alternative for people who want to have a family-friendly hotel room without the price for it in downtown Taipei. I especially like the mezzanine bedroom, the very functional kitchen, and the small balcony where the washer/dryer is. Even though I had a hard time figuring out how to use the laundry machine (which shrank my clothes after two hours of wash), I had a wonderful time staying in this aparthotel. It really is a lovely home from home. The night market close by is another plus. And the stores and restaurants in the neighborhood also provided great convenience when my visit was around the Lunar New Year with usually only a few places remained open for business. I've got good coffee and nice, solid bread, delicious noodle soup and dumplings, seasonal fruits and local fare, and also easy, efficient refill for my temporary cell phone in the stores, all in the vicinity of my hotel. Most of all, the Metro station only requires a short walk to get to. Even during the late night hours, I still feel safe walking around on my own, thanks to the active business of the Ningxia night market and the police station right on the corner of the street. I will be staying in this aparthotel whenever I am in Taipei from now on. Just a few days ago, I've recommended a friend in London to check it out for her visit to Taiwan this summer.

Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We took their chauffered airport transfer which brought us direct to the apartment lobby. However, there are airport coach services that drops off at the nearest ShuangLian station and a 10mins walk to the apartment. Not recommended if bulky baggage are on towed.

Beside taking the MRT to Taipei Main Station (2 stops), an underground walkway with stores links the two stations too. Commuting to many places of interest is convenient using the MRT services or public buses.

Restaurants are available around the apartment from local, fast food and Japanese. There are convenience stores around the vicinity.

In the apartment, guests are advised to be careful when walking up the steep steps and narrow path leading to the bedroom.

Full range of kitchen utensils will be provided upon request. Byo washing detergents for dishes and laundry or purchase at the convenience stores. Basic amenities are available and towels are exchangeable.

The apartment has lots of socket points and provides free and fast speed wifi.

The only hiccup is 'Shower with Care' as the lack of shower curtain makes the bathroom floor wet and inadvisable to use the hairdryer in the bathroom.

Safe, clean, convenient...with some quirks, but reasonably price

Left on 02/03/2012 for a stay in January 2012

      What's Good:
Our hosts were most courteous, and the place was comfortable, tastefully furnished and spotless clean! Beautiful bathroom. Free and fast wifi. Secure building with elevators. 7 minites to the MRT.

      To be Improved:
This place had the shell for an excellent self-service apartment, but it was not yet set up for self-service. There was a brand new stove but not a pot or pan or anything to cook on; no utensils, no kitchen towel. We didn't use the microwave because there wasn't even a plate or bowl. And no dish detergent to clean up. We didn't use the washer/dryer for there was no laundry detergent, and we were tired of having to go up to the 15th floor to ask for every little thing.

We had a mechanical issue with the hot water the first night , and a mechanical issue with the refrigerator a few days later. The problems were fixed within 24 hours, but it really sucks not being able to shower after 24 hours of planes and airports.

Not a lot of instructions in English, but not a problem since I speak/read Chinese. My husband, however, seemed somewhat disoriented.

Our host, Roger was most helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed, helped with directions, taxis, etc. The condo was much better than staying in a motel. We had much more room for less than we would have paid for a hotel. The unit was very clean and convenient to the MRT and local shopping.
The only drawback was the traffic noise that took some getting used to, but we would rent here again. Roger helped to make our visit to Taipei a very pleasant experience.

The best part of this property was location. It is near by MRT station, Ningxia night market, Gum, and other places. Staff are very friendly and overall we had very comfortable stay. Also, it was extremely easy check-in & check-out!

      Likes:
. Price, convenient location, comfy, amenities cover most of your needs during short term/long term stay, friendly staff

      Dislikes:
. Lack of English instruction on some of amenities (took us a while to figure out how to use), Air conditioner on top of bed, which blows cold air right on you when you are trying to sleep.

The people running this serviced apartment are very friendly and accommodating. They were fast to respond whenever we needed anything. The apartment itself is very new and spacious. Free WiFi was a huge plus. It was also nice to have 2 TVs. The beds were extremely comfortable, and all of us always felt very well rested.

We had some issues with the hot water at first (water will suddenly get extremely hot/cold even though we didn't make any adjustments). Although we were fine living with it, they took the initiative to move us to a different unit, which worked out well (no problem with the hot water there).

Overall, we had a comfortable stay at the apartment. The staff were helpful. Distance to train station is not 3 mins but at least 10 mins walk. It would have better if cutlery were provided. When I requested for fork and spoon and plates, they gave me plastic ones and only two small plates. So we did not manage to do any cooking but use the microwave for our food. Placing tourism brochures in the apartment would have been a good idea.

-Very near to Ning Xia night market, is a great place to hunt for local food.
-Not actually 3mins walk to MRT, is about 10mins walk but stil ok.
      -Quiet and cozy environment.
-The aircon is right on top of the bed, should be located at a better location.
-The sofa is not really comfortable to sit, prefer a more soft sofa(personal opinion).
-All the amenities is great, wi-fi provided with good speed.
-Will need to replace your towel and garbage bag at the receiption at 15Floor everyday.

I spent a couple days here while traveling though Taiwan and I can say that it was the best place I stayed at while I was there. Having the place to myself in this manner was just wonderful, I could do as I like with out worrying about other people, making it a real home from which to explore the city at your pleasure. Which is just stupidly easy with the transport links that are at your doorstep.
