I found this apartment / vacation home rental through Tripadvisor.com. I was a little nervous about this place at first because it was actually my first time staying at a vacation rental apartment. Karen answered all my questions promptly via email. The day I arrive at the airport, she was helping us with luggages. The apartment was really nice and clean. It had all the amenities you need. The location of the apartment is at the prime area and the MRT station is only 30 seconds walk away. Around the apartment you can find all the food you want at any hour. You have 7-11 and Watsons right around the corner. Best value if you plan on staying for more than a week with your family. I will definitely recommend to all my traveler friends.

Very conveniently located with easy access to MRT and famous restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Responses to our booking enquiries were quick and precise. Clear instructions were given for directions from the airport to the apartment. We arrived on a 6am flight and Karen was there to check us in quickly by 8am so that we could rest and freshen up before starting our sightseeing.
We were a party of 5 adults and Karen installed 3 single beds in the master bedroom which was still roomy and comfortable. Bathrooms are spacious and fully equipped with towels, toiletries & hairdryer. Would have appreciated a better equipped kitchen with more cups, plates and cutlery.
Overall great living and would definitely come back again!

Was there recently on 21st Mar for a 6nights stay along with my hubby, our lil boy, a pair of friends and their lil boy. Was greeted at the lobby of the building the apartment was in, Karen was there to explain everything to us and told us to give her a call if we do need anything...And we sure did kept calling her for refill of tissue/toilet paper.
There are some hiccups that they might need to take note about:
1) Handphone will be provided only if you request instead of "will be provided" as indicated on the site.
2) Deposit was returned in NTD instead of any currency of our choice as indicated on the site too.
3) They should check if the tissue/toilet paper is needed to be replenished whenever they drop by to remove the trash rather then us having to keep calling and requesting for it.
4) Floor should at least by sweep once at least for the 6nights we were there.
Other then the 4 points mentioned, overall was a great experience and a great location. Apartment was exactly same as pictures, feel just like home away from home. Will definitely consider staying there again for the next visit back to Taiwan.Response from GT Apt - 05/02/2013

You paid NTD for security deposit and we returned you the same money you paid which is NTD. You may paid the security in any currency. Cleaning is on your own except weekly rental guests which is stated in my description. We do provide a mobile phone but due to many of our guests they bought sim card already and they do not need our phone, so by the time you check in I almost forgot the phone is still in my bag, you reminded me and i provided you the phone immediately.

I traveled to Taipei with my husband and 3 year old son during the first week of april and decided to stay at GT apartment.
Upon our arrival I was quite schocked to learn that this was not an apartment complex with a security guard. This apartment is actually in a commercial building with apartments sporadically located thru out the building. After getting passed the fact that we were located on the same floor as a "massage parlor" we walked to our room.
When we entered the apartment, there is a distinct foul odor that does not go away.
Our apartment was not as clean as described and our bathroom was quite dirty. Karen, the owner, told me that the cleaning lady only rinses off the shower and tub. There was hair in the closets, drawers, and under the sink in both bathrooms. Karen did have her cleaning lady come and clean the room again the next day.
However be prepared to smell the stench of the dirty old filthy couch. The couch has never been cleaned properly and you can see hair, dust and grime in the crevice's of the couch. Yuck...it was so disgusting that I didn't sit on the couch during my 6 day stay.
The bedrooms are furnished with super cheap bedding. The bed, pillows and comforter felt very uncomfortable.
On the last 3 days of our stay we found roaches at night. They always appeared at night when we returned from dinner.
The one star is for the location. You are walking distance to the MRT station so it was convinient. However be prepared to hear men shouting at 4 am. This apartment is on the 6th floor so it's quite noisy.
Save yourself the hassle and stay elsewhere!

I always double check the house condition after my cleaning lady finishes cleaning to assure this house is clean enough to accommodate my guests.
First of all, the house was clean, there was no odor or dirt, it was just Susie was not used to the humid weather of Taiwan plus the rain just stopped(i still remembered we had talked about the bad weather when Susie checked in), the night that Susie emailed me saying she is not satisfied with the closet, bed, sofa couch...mostly everything, it was Chin Ming holiday in April, i paid extra to let my cleaning lady go to clean the house again the next day though i do not understand what's wrong with my house, even my cleaning lady called me when she reached the house and said "Karen, the house is clean, where else to clean?".
Susie emailed me saying the bedding was not comfortable, she asked me to change her to DOWN pillows, i am sorry that we do not have down pillows to provide, we bought pillows and blankets from Ikea, they are not the downfilled ones but surely i chose the above standard ones so they could suit most of the people's needs.
This house is not noisy at all, i do not know about men shouting at 4 am thing but i know my door man went to knock on the door due to Susie and her family was too loud at night and one of our neighbors complained to the doorman about Susie's family.
Susie asked me to discount her the rent due to her uncomfortableness, i could not do that because it would be unfair to my other guests. I even offered to return her the rent and book them a hotel, i would absorb the difference, i searched for 2 hotels with good location and higher price and i sent them to Susie, she refused. (i wonder if she really couldnt stand the house, why refused?)
Lastly, Susie mentioned she did not sit on the couch for 6 days because it was a smelly, dirty couch? her little son was sitting on the couch watching tv with a happy smile when i went to check them out.
Susie put his son's shoes ON the couch to let her son wear them him self. we had to take out the cover sent to dry cleaning laundry after they left.
Afterall, Susie mentioned this was her first time renting a vacation apartment, they used to stay at 5 star hotel when they go travel.
Susie mentioned her house in USA is big, she is used to live in big house.
Susie mentioned she has not come back to Taiwan for many years(i remembered she said 10 yrs, not sure if i remembered right).
My apartment is warm and neat with home feeling but i guess it could not be compared with Hyatt or Hilton.

This was the first time we've rented a condo in Taipei, and it was definitely better than staying at a hotel for our family of four (parents with two grown children). We arrived early in the morning and was not expecting to check in yet, but Karen made arrangements for us check in at the time of our arrival after a 13-hour flight. Also, on our day of check-out (we've stayed there for two weeks), we were able to get dinner then went back to get our luggages from the unit before heading to the airport for a late-night flight. That was very very considerate on the part of Karen. And she has always been very responsive to answer my emails ever since I booked the place.
The location of this condo is surrounded by restaurants, eateries, massage/spas, night clubs, department stores (Uniglo and Zara are just three-minute walking distance away), boutique shops, 24-hour convenient stores, and the famous Taipei alley 216 is about five-minute walking distance from here. And MTR station is right in front of the building. It is super convenient. And it was not as noisy as I had expected either.
We would highly recommend this place to anyone who is considering going to Taipei. We would not go back to staying at a hotel anymore if we go again.Response from GT Apt - 01/30/2013

It is easy to book this apartment as Karen was very responsive with email.
Deposit for the booking was easily made through Paypal and the rest is cash upon arrival. She given waited for us near the exit of the metro station upon our arrival! The location of the apartment is very convenient for transport (Taipei Main Stn), food (convenient store & 7-11) and shopping.
Karen is very accommondating to allow us to check in around noon, as normally hotel only allows check in after 3pm. Our family of 5 have a wonderful stay for 4 nights. The mobile phone provided came handy when the housekeeping provided more hand towels than shower towel on the 3rd night. The shower tower was delivered in a short while. More importantly Karen keep our luggages and we pick it up only around 4.30pm before we leave for Taoyuan airport. That day, we managed to travel to Jiufen and have a wonderful trip.
Before Taipei, we stayed 2 nights in Hualien, so the washing machine with washing powder provided become so much useful to us. This definitely help us to reduce the weight of our luggages as we need not bring too many clothing for the whole trip. Hair dryer and iron also provided which was such a relieve cause it rain almost everyday during our stay.

Karen, the owner, was very helpful and arranged for taxi to meet us upon arrival and for our departure. She also met us at the ground floor of the building when we arrived and showed us to our apt on the 6th floor. Found the apt exactly as shown in the pictures: has WiFi, a functional kitchenette, washing machine with clear instructions of use; overall clean and comfortable. The towels were changed every alternate day with daily removal of rubbish.
The MRT station, ZhongXiao DunHua, is just in front of the building and there were plenty of shops, restaurants nearby that open 24/7.
We had to check out at 4.30am in the morning and Karen arrived punctually with her boyfriend to help us with our luggages.

I was looking for apartments with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This was a perfect choice. My family and I (4 adults + 1 toddler) stayed for 4 nights but not consecutive as we travelled to alishan for a night. Karen, the owner was kind enough to let us store luggages in her safe at no cost. The apartment was well maintained and furnished with amenities as listed, what you see is what you exactly get. Highly recommended.

Excellent location and amenities. Taxi and MRT right outside and 24 hours convenient stores and food and shopping all at your front steps. Two bedrooms and a living area very nice and modern in design! Karen is an excellent owner and very punctual and helpful in getting taxi for us when we check out. However, the master bed was rather thin and I could feel the springy steel in bed, wished the bed & pillows were in better condition. When we arrived in Taipei, we had a hard time calling Karen on the phone, not knowing the apartment was on the 6th floor of the complex. I think it would have been easier for overseas travellers to email Karen and meet her on the ground floor of the complex upon arrival. Overall, we were really glad we stayed here.

thank you for choosing GT APT, i would put on a thick blanket or a memory foam mat on top of the bed for your if you could let me know.
We have several units in the same building so it's not always at the 6th floor, i always tell our tenants to call me prior(there's pay phone in the MRT station if your phone is not available to make phone calls) so i can have enough time to be there and meet you at the front door of the building.
If there's anything unsatisfied or uncomfortable during the stay, please tell me so i can think of a way to fix the problem, i want all my guests to leave GT APT with a big smile :)

Karen was very helpful, caring & patient, she not only provide us a map of how to get to the apartment from Zhongxiao Dunhua station and even gave us a Taipei phone for convenience or emergency purposes!
The apartment was clean, had everything we needed and reasonable price.

Starting from initial contact, the owner had been very prompt and helpful. Upon arrival, Karen was there giving us the warmest welcome and a quick tour to the apartment. We were first amazed by the great location it is in! Literally, the elevator opens and you see the subway station Dunhua exit 1! The unit is very nice, spacious, beautiful, and most importantly clean. :) There's pretty much everything you need right around every corner. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and convenience stores that open 24/7. The unit itself has a functional kitchen. We loved it overall and are planning to come back in October!

This room is a very good choice of every of you, if you consider to have a middle to long stay in Taiwan, newly decorate I guess. It is just on the 6th floor of the apartment that located at the very same location of ZhongXiaoDunHua Station, easy to transport. And for the food, I found many interesting restaurant at the small alley behind the building, from the traditional restaurant to the modern pub and restaurant. Sadly I found the way to pub very near the building at the last day of my stay.
So I suggest this owner should have more detail of the things to do near the apartment.

the apartment looks just like the pictures! we were able to sleep 5 people comfortably and a 6th could have squeezed on the couch. The whole apartment has a luxurious feel - very shiny and clean! Karen and her boyfriend were wonderful, quick to respond to texts/emails, and overall very accommodating.
