Caribou Lodge is located on a remote lake above timberline in the Talkeetna Mountains just southeast of Denali National Park and is closer to Mt. McKinley than the park headquarters or entrance. Nature and tranquility are our only neighbors. The location is our home year around and a private paradise in the Alaskan wilderness or "The Bush," as it is known to Alaskans. The lodge offers fantastic views of Mt. McKinley and the Alaskan Range to the west and to the east overlooking the lake, stands the beautiful Talkeetna Mountains. Wildlife is generally good in the area. Caribou, moose, grizzly bears, sheep, black bears, wolves, coyotes, fox, wol...verine, ermine, otters, eagles, short-eared owls, ptarmigan, ducks, loons, Canadian geese, and swans have all been observed from the comfort of the lodge and the cabins. Wildflowers abound mid July through August. The many berries come ripe in July. The long days of summer bring awesome sunrises and the tranquility of the Midnight Sun as it slips behind Denali is a sight to behold.

The Lodge sits in a SUPERB location on a remote lake above timberline East of Denali high in the Talkeetna Mountains. It is Alaskan Wilderness at its best. A short flight out of Talkeetna by floa-tplane in summer and ski-plane in winter.

Base Rate of $325 per person per day plus $2.50 bed tax. Based on double occupancy. Two-day minimum stay.
2 Days / Nights - $650 plus $5.00 Bed Tax Per Person
3 Days / Nights - $975 plus $7.50 Bed Tax Per Person
4 Days / Nights - $1,300 plus $10.00 Bed Tax Per Person
5 Days / Nights - $1,625 plus $12.50 Bed Tax Per Person
6 Days / Nights - $1,950 plus $15.00 Bed Tax Per Person

Single Guest Rate - $470 Per Day Plus $2.50 Bed Tax.
Children Under 12 years of age - $257.00 Per Day Plus $2.50 Bed Tax.

3 Days / Nights - An easy trip, good for beginners. One day two nights at the lodge, two days one night backpacking. $975 per person plus $5.00 bed tax.

4 Days / Nights - Great trip! Three days and nights out in the Alaskan wilderness, one day and night to rest and relax back at the lodge. It's a good one! $1,300 per person plus $2.50 bed tax.

5 Days / Nights - A lake hopping excursion, two days three nights at the lodge, three days two nights on the trail. $1,625 per person plus $7.50 bed tax.

5 Days / Nights - Fly out to an alpine lake beneath a glacier and hike back to the lodge. AN AWESOME TRIP! One day two nights at the lodge, four days three nights packing. $1,860 per person plus $5.00 bed tax. Additional flight cost.

6 Days / Nights - This one's for the HEARTY! One day two nights at the lodge, five days four nights cross country packing. $1,950 per person plus $5.00 bed tax.

Rates include all lodging and meals, daily guided hiking and use of all lodge facilities. Winter rates also include use of snowshoes, limited cross-country skis. As mandated by our insurance carrier, you will be required to endorse a liability waiver for all lodge activities.

  I also stayed here...Not once but several times. It was the first place I ever went in alaska...and because of Mike and pam, we eventually moved to alaska...and we still go there. It is the most peaceful place on earth. Wonderful hiking, wonderful down home cooking and lots of it...All meals are included...it is a 15 minute fly-in lodge from Talkeetna..and one of my fav places in the world...

  Fantastic experience

  We live in Northern Michigan and have traveled to alaska several times. We are both in our 4th quarters of lifes.
  
  In 2004 we stayed at the Caribou Lodge for the first time.
  
  We had such a great experience that we do not go to alaska without staying with Pam and Mike. It's true wilderness with all the comforts of home and fantastic,
  gourmet cooking. The view of Denali on Bluberry Hill behind the Lodge is awesome and the perfect place to meditate.
  Hiking with Mike is very rewarding as He epitimizes what a hard working person from "down under" can do and his experience sharing is very entertaining.
  
  Pam and Mike are role models for us.
  
  The only problems we had was that we did not want to leave after each visit. And all the scrumptous calories we got from the fantastic meals!!!
