Rochester MnArtists Retreat was a Real Treat!
Left on 04/25/2013 for a stay in February 2013
What a wonderful time we all had while staying at your cabin. The fresh air from the mountains and the great views we shared at the cabin and the trek in on the goat roads was something that none of us will ever forget. The cabin was like home with all the great features that were offered, we especially enjoyed the ping pong table as well as the hot tub. The only thing i can say negative is that the directions were a little misleading especially if you were trying to locate this property in the dark like we did. Thanks for the great experience at your cabin!

I have stayed in the Talking Rock area before but this cabins decor is the only reason I chose this location. The cabin was nice but the driving 30 miles past the cabin to get the key and then having to drive the 30 miles out the way to return it put a damper on my overall trip.
My kids really enjoyed the downstairs gameroom; however, the having to go upstairs to watch TV and use the restroom was a disappointment. My mom loved it. Other than the ice machine not working it was average.Response from KZCabins - 04/17/2013

Thank you for your review of Artist Retreat. We are really happy your mom loved it and that you felt the cabin was nice and that the kids really enjoyed the newly finished gameroom! We will pass your feedback along to the home owner about having to go upstairs to watch TV and use the bathroom. Additionally, we encourage guests to call our after hours number or office line anytime they have a problem such as the ice machine. We will look at that problem immediately. Also, we are continuously striving to make our guest experience the best possible and therefore we are looking into enhancing the check-out process to provide more convenience to guests. We hope you can come back and stay with us again soon.

CaliforniaThe most relaxed I've ever been!
Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in March 2013
I stayed as a guest recently and I was blown away by the secluded and peaceful views. This cabin is Gorgeous !! The huge windows welcome the outdoors in and the duel level decks were a huge hit with the guests. Everything was clean-like new, with top of the line amenities. The "young people" felt like kings with the basement space and private deck. They loved the pool table, foosball and darts . We saw lots of wildlife and loved the twice daily walks . This cabin easily sleeps 8 guests without feeling crowded. I will return to this cabin again to see the other 3 seasons. We had no problem getting tv reception but we honestly only had it on once for the kids. There was just too much relaxing going on! I have to mention what a treat it was to view the original paintings throughout the house. It honestly could not have gone better for all of the guests. I hesitate to call it a cabin for fear that I don't do it justice...this a beautiful Home. This is on the top of my list for a truly memorable holiday and I could see us making this a yearly destination

Satisfied in Ohio
CirclevilleExcellent Vacation Spot: from someone in the hospitality busines
Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in March 2013
I have been a manager in the hospitality business for the past seven years. Because of my professional experience, I check everything in any rental property. I know when a place is clean. I could find nothing wrong with this place. The linens, floors, bathrooms, bedrooms, and even the trashcans were spotless! It was also beautifully decorated! I also have problems with my back (because of a broken tailbone that has not healed properly)so I am picky about chairs and beds. I was pleasantly surprised that every surface was comfortable and did not hurt my back.
I also loved the privacy and beautiful views. Every room and deck/porch highlights the beauty of the mountains. Wildlife is abundant and there are many things to do. Visiting the Trout Lodge is a must! There is a trail that leads around the water and mountains. It is a great place for a picnic, collecting marble, or just taking a walk. I cannot say enough about this place... The atmosphere is relaxing and adventurous, at the same time. It is perfect for anyone, of any age. I plan to make the journey from Ohio again, this year!Response from KZCabins - 04/17/2013

CABIN SUCKS
AtlantaThis cabin was Inconvenience & Unethical!
Left on 08/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Hello,
I would like to say that I will never attend KZ Cabins due to a bad experience. My whole class had an issue in there cabin. Specifically, mines had a Unfinished Basement with no lights. When I booked the reservation, the representative didnt say that is was unfinished, if so I would have asked was there anymore choices since I was the first one that called. It seems though the representative was more anxious on a sale or commission instead of informing me what I was getting. Her thoughts was no one else complained and was satisfied. Well, thats them and I am me. Everyone is different with their own views. No, I didn't view the cabin because I trusted her judgement. I never had any problems on cabin rentals until I met up with this one. There was about 200 complaints so that should tell you about the issues that occured. The representative stated I should have called the # in the directory stating I didn't have lights in the basement. That was not mention in my paperwork and it doesnt matter I did email someone immediately and someone were responding back but it wasnt Rose Taylor. She called back 2 days after I left. Also, I left a message for Rose to call me while I was there. I asked if I could be compensated for the inconvenience but I don't think the Owner and Representative were concerned because they got paid. Everyone was pretty much 30-35 min apart from one another when we was told that we're was close by each other. When I travel, I'm usually not the one that complains but this experience was awful! I don't think I will refer no one there ever.
Thank You!Response from KZCabins - 08/14/2012

As we have communicated with you via email and phone calls, the listing for this property clearly states that the basement is unfinished. There is no way to know what to inform a guest of over the phone, as you yourself say "everyone has different views". What is important to one may not be important to another. There is no way for us to know that an unfinished basement would have been a problem unless you inform us. There were plenty other cabins to choose from. Our reservation specialist job is to assist in the booking process and answer any questions. As stated, the unfinished basement had not been a problem previously. The access package that is sent before arrival, as well as the documents in the cabin both in the cabin book and on the refrigerator list the number to call for after hours/emergency service. We have agents on call to monitor and respond to these calls. The line that a message was left on was our general voice mail line which states that calls will be returned on the next business day. The call you received was the return call from this general voice mail. As mentioned in the email communication, the basement is in the process of being finished (upgrading an already beautiful property) and we offered you a complimentary night in the future to enjoy the finished basement.!

WoodstockFinish the basement and wash the sheets and you may have somethi
Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We rent cabins at least two or three times each year. This was the first cabin where we had to wash the sheets because of the amount of dirt in the covers. Too bad the Dryer was broken. We had to use the blanket without sheet. We liked the ping pong table but you must get some light down there. We know the basement was not finished but please a few more candles or something. The scorpion in the tub was fun to play with more so than other bugs. We really liked the hummingbirds, some day I will realize that hummingbirds like to buzz you just when you take a sip of hot coffee. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and spices. Check in and the lock box were terrific. All in all we have had better rental for similar prices. We wanted Heaven Peak but Rose said it had just rented. Artist's Retreat is not Heavens Peak and should not be rented at the same rate. I do not think I would recommend this unit. I am willing try KZ Cabins again but fool me once etc. etc.

Thank you for your feedback. We have addressed and corrected all of your concerns. We have even had the basement finished into a beautiful gameroom and lounge. Check out the new pictures of the finished basement on the website. Pest control services have been upgraded, housekeeping services have been upgraded and the dryer has been replaced. We sincerely think you would have a completely new and highly improved experience with the cabin this time around! We hope you come back again this year!

New York, NYA mountain hideway way back in the woods
Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in June 2012
A very comfortable house, way back in the woods, in a developments called "Cedar Cliffs / Talking Rock Creek", closer to Jasper, Ga, than Ellijay, Ga. Lots of natural light floods the house from the big picture windows in the living room. The king-sized bed in the first floor bedroom was very comfortable for sleeping. The kitchen was well-stocked and everything was in working order.
I had arranged with the rental company for someone to "open up the house" prior to my arrival (turn on some lights, get the house cooling down, etc.) and for someone to make sure the hot tub (outdoors on the lower deck) was up and running. I'm glad I paid the fees for these two services.
The biggest drawback to the house is that the lower level (unfinished space, as of now) has a pretty bad mildew problem. I don't have any allergies, but I imagine someone who does might find it hard to stay at the "Artist's Retreat." We were having some beautiful weather while I was staying there (sunny with low humidity) so I opened windows on the lower level for as long as I could in order to get some fresh air circulating down there.
The house has satellite TV, a wi-fi internet connection, and good cell phone reception for being so far back in the woods.
While I was there, I saw deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, and even a black bear (from my car, a safe distance up the road). It was a nice retreat for a few quiet days.
