Additional Location Information
Costa Rica is a great country and if you are nature lovers, there are an unlimited number of things to do and see here. Right in Tamarindo, you can take tours of the nearby estuary, see nesting sea turtles at the National Sea Turtle Reserve, arrange for diving and snorkeling trips and hire boats for fishing trips. Or you can take day-trips to hike at the nearby volcano, rainforests or cultural sites. And, of course, you can always just hit the beach for world-class surfing, boogie-boarding, sunbathing and shelling.
The restaurants range from rustic local fare (our favorite) to new very fancy places. You can easily walk to most of them and to any of the shops in Tamarindo. There is also a gourmet grocery store nearby.

Warm and friendly staff responsive to questions and concierge services. Resort is beautifully maintained, secure with gatehouse and 24 hr surveillance, and within walking distance of beaches, restaurants, boutiques, cafes, gift shops, and grocery stores. Condo unit is artfully decorated with beautiful murals that depict the local character. Fully equipped kitchen made cooking meals a cinch, including the ma-hi ma-hi we caught off of a deep sea fishing boat. Common areas, balconies, and three bedrooms allowed plenty of private and communal space for our group of three couples.
Highlights included horseback riding on the beach; biking into the jungle and seeing families of monkeys; riding atvs in the mountains above the resort with spectacular views; breathtaking sunsets on the beach; a boat trip down an estuary and into the jungle teaming with wildlife including crocodiles, monkeys, exotic birds; lunch on the beach with a 3 ft. iguana in the tree above our table; snorkeling with sea turtles, surfing at high tide; reading poolside and relaxing to the sounds of the waterfall. Carolyn and Steve, Daisy and Jay, the owners, made traveling stress-free with all of their suggestions and advise. We can't wait to return!!!

It was awesome to step into this beautiful condo after a long travel day! Great air conditioner, hardwood floors, open kitchen, big master bedroom, fabulous patio, and looking right down on the pool and waterfall! Clearly one of the nicer complexes in all Tamarindo and right across the street from the main beach, walking distance to all restaurants and shops. It felt like a second home after a few hours. You can't go wrong with this one!

Lutherville, MDComfortable, artfully decorated and well located

This condo is very well laid out and spacious. It has all the amenities one would need for a vacation home away from home. It is a very short walk to the beach, stores and restaurants -- plus a wonderful gelato stand. The property management office was particularly helpful with providing local information and booking tours. It was wonderful to have a place to stay that was lovely and problem-free.

santa barbara, caCasa de Murales is Costa Rica Heaven
Left on 12/23/2010 for a stay in December 2010
We stayed at Casa de Murales-Condo at the beach in Costa Rica Beach twice in the past year. The location, facilities, décor, condo staff, and things to do in walking distance made this our favorite vacation get-away.We were able to surf and boogie board at the uncrowded Tamarindo beach every day. We ate most of our meals in restaurants with out feet literally in the sand looking out at the beautiful ocean, hills, and spectacular sunsets. It is amazing how inexpensive it is to live the great life in Tamarindo including food at restaurants, the market, and even local arts and crafts.
From the condo manager, staff and these locals we discovered new restaurants and other adventures including the best white-water rafting ever - almost continuous class 3-4 rapids, zip-lining, canopy tours, Atv-riding, surf-riding, and even a town rodeo.
I will keep returning to the Casa de Murales-Condo in particular for several reasons. The beautifully appointed, condominium directly across the street from the white sand beach of Playa Tamarindo is walking distance to the town's restaurants, shops and nightlife. The spacious. clean, & secure condo is really a home away from home with the owners' art making the inner space as special as the view and town beyond. There are the owner's original murals and local crafts to add to the feeling that you are some place special and so lucky to be "invited†into this home.
Everything is new, immaculate, and works perfectly, from air conditioning, flat screen TVs, to the top appliances. The dishes, glasses, linens, towels, and other amenities are top quality. The furnishings are better than those of any hotel and the owners have invested in wonderful handcrafted cabinets throughout the condo. The large terrace overlooks a gorgeous, private, heated swimming pool with a waterfall and parking is right at your doorway. Casa de Murales was a wonderful place to stay. We most highly recommend this divine condo in paradise to anyone!

Casa de Murales exceeded our expectations. This clean, bright, spacious condo has all the comforts of home in an oasis-like setting. The spacious rooms, original art work, and large patio overlooking the pool make for perfect retreat after a day of surfing (right across the street!), ziplining, or scuba diving. We enjoyed being able to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this place for couples, families, or groups of friends. I can't wait to go back!

Tamarindo is a beautiful, quiet beach town. Great beach, fun food and drink, friendly locals. The condo is located in the center of town across the street from the beach. Well decorated yet comfortable, this mural filled retreat overlooks the pool. In fact, while enjoying the privacy of the second floor, the patio has it's own stairway down to the pool deck. Our days began with a morning walk on the beach to a cafe breakfast and ended with beautiful sunsets.
Local transportation and tours are available for touring Costa Rica (which was our choice), though there are also daily car rentals up the street if you want a drive. We did a day tour to the interior and arenal. Great fun. We shuttled from the airport to the condo so didn't need a car.
We went from here to an all inclusive far her north. When we go back we will just make this condo our base. It has everything we need for a relaxing getaway...especially when the snows flying in Cleveland! Loved this place!
