I am a repeat guest at the Sunset Inn, staying for months at a time. I love it here! It's quiet, secure and just steps from the beach. There's a pool and outdoor kitchen BBQ, great for entertaining. Laundry and internet is included and the grocery store is right next door. There's not much more you need, just your bikini!

The owner is a class act and has the inside track around town. Just listen to what he says and you won't go wrong. The rooms are extreamly comfortable and the locaton is perfect. Breaks, market, bars, and everything else you may need are in walking distance. Tamarindo is right down the road (I walked it almost the entire time) and a short cab trip. The town was really fun with good nightlife and friendly people. If you are going on a surf trip you need look no farther. I am staying here agian for the month of June and July. I reccommend this place to friends and family. Costa is not the place for children though. If you are thinking about bringing family, keep in mind that others are in this tropical paradise to cut loose!

We reserved this place in September for a vacation in December with our whole family, we contacted the manager (Federico) and he email me all the amenities that we were going to get, and when we arrived to the place, we didnt get what he promised by email, we didnt have any body to welcomes us, also he promised to gives us two cabins and we got two awfull small rooms with a cabin that does not look anything like the pictures, it looks like they do not give maintanance to it, and to make it worse we lost water twice, we stayed in this place because we didnt want to loose our money. But nothing was like what the pictures and the manager promised, the pool was durty no body cleaned it in the whole time we were there.

Only 1 of 3 airconditioners worked. Sliding entrance door doesn't stay on track
and requires too much effort to enter and exit premises. Cracked windows. None of bicycles were operable. Key broken off in lock on entrance door. Has a worn and run down appearance.Response from Federico Arias - 08/19/2012

Unfortunately the guest didnt bring this issues to our attention, so that we could have fix them during his stay. We have taken care of these situations and we are always comitted to improve our facilities for our guests comfort.

we stayed there for about 3 weeks. it is a very nice place, quiet, clean, good located, great pool, very frindly and helpful people and the best bbq ever!

I stayed at Sunset Inn for about 8 months from october 2009 to june 2010. During my time in Costa Rica i did look for other places to stay, but none of them were nicer then Sunset Inn and most cost more. I was looking for something central to great surf and a fun nightlife and i found just what i was looking for. From my door in the morning it took me about a total of 5 minutes walking to reach the sand and a variety of great waves to surf i couldn't ask for anything more, as for nightlife well it was nice to have the option of taking the 5 minute drive into Tamarindo and having plenty of places to choose from or staying in Langosta and not having to deal with the noise and crowds the options were there. If your looking for a quiet place central to everything without the hassle of the larger crowds at the big hotel's this is the place you need to stay, and if your a traveling surfer on a budget you would be a fool to pass this place up.

Close to a really good surf spot, walking distance to bars clubs and shopping and other beaches. The rooms are nice cold a/c , pool was always clean and beautiful with friendly staff !
