Managua, NicaraguaPeaceful, comfortable and clean
Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The Breeze lived up to the high expectations we had of it based on the customer reviews we had read here. The villas are well designed and manage to be private enough, despite being grouped around the pool. The kitchen is convenient and well supplied, bathrooms spacious and everything is clean. The beach is indeed just five minutes walk away. We found the staff helpful and friendly; and the owners very kindly and promptly posted me the Kindle I had left in a bedside table ( silly me) . Our only criticism was off the property, we found Tamarindo to be a dusty town where the roads are not up to the standard they should be for an obviously successful beach ´resort´ town. To be fair, it was Easter and the town was full to the brim which meant there was probably more dust than usual.

TynemouthSuperb accommodation and location
Left on 08/31/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We booked to stay in villa 5 for 10 nights and then thought we'd move on to a second location. After a few days we realized that actually nothing would match up to the standard of accommodation we had there and so extended our stay for another five days. We were looked after by the resident caretakers extremely well who were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The location of the property is fantastic, a short walk into town and an even shorter walk to the beach! We can definitely say we will be back!! Thank you.

Beautiful Property close to the beach, bars and dining. Still somehow managing to stay very quiet and secluded. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Jean Marc was a great help in getting us familiar with Tamarindo and all it has to offer. The property is gated with 24 hr. security. Great place for a family with small children. The Costa Rican people are amazing.Very peaceful and easy going. I would recommend The Breeze and Tamarindo to anyone. Thanks again Jean Marc!

Schenectady, New YorkEasy and comfortable at the Breeze
Left on 12/10/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Looking for a small and friendly escape from the snow, with the comforts of home -- and a beach nearby? The Breeze is it. Located in the laid-back town of Tamarindo, this cluster of villas surrounds a small pool and patio area - perfect for meeting your neighbors or escaping into a book. The villas have full kitchens, making it easy to eat in (although purchasing groceries is expensive). There are plenty of restaurants within a few blocks - fish, Mexican, sushi, Mediterranean, bar food - many in small, outdoor settings and about the same cost as eating out in the us. There is a small, very basic "fitness club" in town, with a roomful of machines for reasonable weekly rates, but walking and surfing the beach may be all the exercise you need. Most notably, the owners - Rhonda and Jean Marc - reach out personally to accommodate every need, whether it's to arrange an excursion to the jungle, a snorkel boat, to a spa, or for a trip to the supermarket. Tamarindo itself is relaxed and friendly, but not a destination for serious shopping or partying. A disco, some music, but if you are looking for Las Vegas, this is not for you. We enjoyed the sun, the ocean, the people; we found it so comfortable that we booked a longer stay next year.

In 2010 we stayed at the Breezes. What a great place to relax. The hosts, Jean Marc and Rhonda made us feel like family and were more than helpful with all our questions, as this was our first time in Costa Rica. The accomodations were great and the staff were wonderful. As I was a beginning want to be surfer this was a perfect place to learn, the water is warm and so are the breezes. My wife, likes the pool so this was perfect. Our 3 week stay seemed like forever. We both would highly recommend the Breezes to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the Costa Rican atmosphere. We will definetly return soon

Ottawa, Ontario, CanadaUnforgettable!
Left on 11/11/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The Breeze is in a great location, close to everything so you can walk to any restaurant or shop and it's right across the street from the beach. I don't think it would have been as impressive if all the cottages were rented during our stay because even the first couple of days it was a little too close for comfort. Luckily after the first couple of days, we had the place to ourselves. We played our own music through the outdoor sound system (sound system in the low-tech sense...the sound was not super quality but still good for hanging out by the pool) This was perfect for one especially romantic evening when my boyfriend proposed!! I couldn't have asked for a better setting. Rhonda and Jean Marc were very nice and friendly. Rhonda was really helpful with suggesting good places to eat which we really appreciated. There was just one odd thing that happened...one day Jean Marc told my fiancé that he was going to take him surfing at 4:30 / 5:00. My fiancé was ready and waiting but Jean Marc never showed up and he never said anything about it later when we saw him. It wasn't a big deal, it wasn't as if we asked him to or were depending on Jean Marc to take us but why volunteer and then just not show up. The Breeze has surfboards that you can use and we did make use of them. Neither of us had ever surfed before and it was great to try it out. They also have bikes that you can use and we loved to bike around town! All in all it was a memorable experience. As far as I could tell, The Breeze is the best place to stay in Tamarindo!

We would return to The Breeze many times. The rooms were immaculate. The hosts truly gracious and the staff were perfect. It is a sanctuary when the beach is windy and just quite perfectly located. It was one of our favorite vacations. We have a disabled family member and we found the place very suitable to our needs as well as the Costa Rican travel staff at the airports very helpful.

The absolute oasis in the middle of the village, a street away from the beach. Perfect for families. Safe for teenagers to go out at night (no driving required) and surf during the day. Charming villas and rich exotic garden to relax by the pool or on your own patio. Devoted hosts that have a rich source of tips for a perfect vacation making you want to return ( which we did).

We stayed two weeks in The Breeze and our family really loved it. The Breeze is wonderful, the garden is beautiful with all the animals we could see just laying on the pool. The beach and restaurants are close, just in walking distance. Rhonda and Jean Marc are very friendly and they made our stay a real pleasure. Rhonda helped us a lot by booking all the trips before we arrived (scuba diving, turtles, sailing etc.).

We booked at The Breeze based on the excellent ratings we read on Trip advisor and it exceeded our expectations.
The villa, surrounded by stunning gardens and a two tiered pool, was beautiful, clean and comfy with everything we needed to eat in if we desired.
Rhonda & Jean Marc were perfect hosts. Rhonda arranged for a private shuttle from the airport and our family zip lining adventure.
Jean Marc stopped by daily and maintained the perfect balance between ensuring we had everything we needed and our quiet family time. One of our trip highlights was traveling through the roundabout with Jean Marc who seemed to know everyone in town!
The staff at The Breeze were friendly and we felt safe knowing they were manning the gate for all the people coming and going.
The Breeze is close to many restaurants, the beach, surf schools and the nightclubs.
We absolutely loved our time at the Breeze and have just booked our return trip for this March. If you are traveling to Tamarindo, The Breeze is an excellent value, in a perfect spot with really great people. -

Left on 11/04/2011 for a stay in February 2010
I booked the Breeze online and wasn't sure if it would live up to the great photos and descriptions, but it was even better than we expected.
The accommodations were new, modern, very clean and the grounds were very well maintained. The security was excellent, it felt like a private oasis in the middle of Tamarindo.
We traveled with our one year old son and rented a car, so that we could explore surrounding areas/beaches. But, it would not be necessary to rent a car for your stay - as there are beaches, shopping, restaurants, and nightlife all within walking distance of the well situated Breeze. Transportation to and from the airport is easy to arrange as well.
The owners and caretakers were all friendly and helpful. It was a great value and we look forward to returning again!

Left on 11/04/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We stayed at Rhonda and Jon Marc's for 5 nights with our 3 children ages 10, 15, and 17 in Feb 2011 and had a wonderful time. The accommodations were very comfortable with enough beds for everyone, two bathrooms and well appointed kitchen and literally 2 steps from the pool. It was quiet and relaxing with lots of fun, activities and restaurants just steps away. Jon Marc to our older boys surfing several times at sunset which was a highlight of their days and Rhonda arranged a deep sea adventure which was fabulous. We felt very safe and every need was attended to. To top it off, howler monkeys (and their babies) trekked through the property every night on their way home- a real highlight!
We have recommended this resort to everyone we know and will go back as soon as we can! -

New York CityThe Beautiful "Breeze" in Tamarindo
Left on 11/04/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We arrived in Tamarindo (a laid back surfing town) and stayed at The Breeze - a beautiful villa (2-bedroom, 2-bath) very upscale with an infinity pool/waterfall and it was the perfect place for us to be for the next six days. the owners, Rhonda and Jean Marc were extremely helpful and the nicest of people. You could walk anyway, although in Tamarindo the roads are not paved and during "wet" season it does rain every night and then you really don't want to be walking around this town. We ended up driving everywhere. Our favorite place was the Langosta Beach Club. Had a great massage for $40.00 - ask for Omar. You can spend the day, relax in one of their beautiful cabanas, swim in their infinity pool, it's right on Playa Langosta - probably one of the most beautiful beaches (watch the surfers), enjoy all the amenities of this small boutique hotel for a $15.00 per person fee per day. We went everyday. The food is delicious and I would recommend you either have lunch/dinner there. The grounds are beautiful. We also took a 2-hour excursion in an african Queen type boat - through the Mangrove Swamp where we saw crocodiles, monkeys, crabs, all different species of birds - but couldn't wait to return to our favorite beach.
The best seafood - and we loved these restaurants:
The Lazy Wave
Capitain Suezo (up the road from the beach club)
Baublo (best pizza in town - we went twice and I'm from NYC)
Dragonfly
Nibbana
We will definitely be returning. It's a beautiful, friendly country - with no worries.

We were lucky enough to arrange to have 2 nights stay at the Breeze that we had to convert to 3 because of the relaxing climate, the fantastic rooms and the most genial hosts you can imagine. Jean Marc was kind enough to lend his surfboards to us, and if we ever had a question that needed and answer, he and Rhonda were there to help.

My husband and I spent four night at the Breeze with some good friends and loved it. We have done a good bit of traveling and all were very impressed with the accommadations and area. It is an easy walk to the beach and tons of great local restaurants. It really could not be in a better spot. Quiet but near everything you need. Also Rhonda and Jean Marc are so incredibly helpful and will get you anything you need. We all agreed that this is one place we want to visit again!!

My wife, our nine year old niece and I spent seven nights in Tamarindo. It was our first time and we throughly enjoyed our stay. I found The Breeze online and booked it over the telephone. I could not have made a better choice. Jean Marc and Rhonda Lageyre, the owners, were great. We met Jean the evening we arrived and his wife and daughter a day later. Wonderful family and most helpful in giving us advice on where to shop, eat, tour guides and beaches we must visit. The Breeze's staff were great during our entire stay. The quiet location is perfect as it is close to the shops, restaurants and beaches. I would recommend The Breeze if you are going to Tamarindo.
