Beautiful Moreton Island is national park and it's surrounding waters are a marine park. Moreton Island is located about 1.5 hour ferry ride from Brisbane, Queensland. This island is an oasis of unspoilt beauty surrounded by crystal clear water and doted with freshwater lakes. You will see plenty of dolphins, turtles, dugongs and whales swimming around the island and a plethora of bird species on the land. The beaches are wide and white and definitely uncrowded. Moreton Island is a great place to kick back and relax from city stress. If a bit of action is what your after then Tangalooma Island Resort has plenty of fun activities both land based and water based which will keep the adrenaline flowing.

The quoted rates includes all linen and bath towels. Spring and summer school holiday rate also include the use of our 6 seat electric golf buggy! The Blue Beach House house will be fully made up upon your arrival and we do not charge any additional claening fees. We also have a portable cot and high chair for your convenience. Melissa and Howard provide a wonderful holiday experience on beautiful Moreton Island. The house is extremely comfortable, with all the amenities expected in a holiday house plus a lot more! The house was ready ahead of the scheduled time, beds all made up and the kitchen well stocked with many of the things that other holiday houses expect you to bring yourself!
The quality of all aspects of the house is evident, ranging from the ample linen, crockery and cutlery through to the kitchen items made available.
Melissa and Howard have thought of everything from the books, Dvds and magazines through to the recreation gear in the garage! Everything needed to have a great family holiday.
We have no hesitation in recommending the Blue Beach House on Moreton Island. -

The house was beautiful, with plenty of room for our family of 6. Lots goodies in the garage to save us money ie snorkle gear, sand boards, golf buggy and beach towels. The view was amazing!
The resort is very close and you can use all the facilities. But the resort is very expensive! Try to take all your food and drink with you.
Loved the house, the view and the beach but wasnt a fan of the resort itself. -

This house totally exceeded every expectation I had. After many years of camping on moreton and having small children I decided no way was I camping again. I invited my parents along with us and we had the most fantastic holiday. The buggy was perfect for getting the kids ( along with boogie boards, float toys, eskys etc) to the pool and beach. Everything was so well set up in the house, my son loved that he could play his new x box games while we enjoyed a drink or 2 on the balcony watching the cruise ships go by. A few of us went on the quad bikes at tangalooma and it was the best fun except now my husband wants to get our son one. My only complaint was that we weren't there long enough. I will definitely be going back!!!

The view from the house is superb, as many people have noted below. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the resort, but it is only a short walk down steep stairs or a buggy ride away for an emergency ice cream!
We came on foot, and the resort minibus was at the jetty to pick us up when the Tangalooma Flyer dropped us off. We got to the house easily and found it sparkling clean.
The living area is very large, and suitable for a large family with plenty of seating and 2 living areas.
The kitchen is large and very well equipped: Large pot to cook pasta, plenty of glasses, plates and cutlery, everything you need to cook and bake if you are so inclined. We brought all our food over and were happy to have done so: there was nothing tempting at the resort's food outlets (they don't qualify as restaurants!). Anyway, why would we have gone elsewhere than the house and its perfect outdoor seating area on the deck? The gas barbecue was also very clean and in perfect working order.All beds are very comfortable with excellent bedding (not the king of short sheets you find in so many hotels or holiday accommodation...). Dvds, Xbox and games kept the children entertained in the morning while we were lazily trying to resist the sunrise.
The electric buggy is very convenient, and we were always happy to go back up the hill in comfort, especially after a long walk on the beach at the end of the day.
There were 3 scooters in the garage, as well as cricket bats and trucks. All were used and kept children happily busy.
Next time, we will bring a 4WD to explore the island further.
Absolutely nothing to complain about. Howard called to check that we had everything we needed, and Melissa let us store some luggage at the house while we enjoyed our last day on the island.Response from Melissa Lau - 09/25/2011

This place is really excellent. We will never forget this stay. Not only is it clean, has an excellent location and has all you need for your stay, the hosts are also really incredible helpful in a relaxed way. This made a huge difference for us "overseas travelers". Highly reccomended if you want to visit this lovely island.

The Ocean Beach House provides a perfect base for a holiday on Moreton Island. The house is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable in a location which provides plenty to do, or not, depending on the mood.
Perfect for teenagers (the house is ideally 'cool) who have the energy and the independence to partake in all on offer at the resort as parents relax and enjoy the stunning views on offer. If you are lucky enough to get the time right whale watching was a really special experience for us all, even surpassing the dolphins.
Additionally Melissa and Howard were great 'hosts' who went well beyond the call of duty in helping out with logistics and welcoming us for our all too brief few days on the island. Just wish we could have stayed longer, perhaps next time!

We have just returned from a truly fabulous 4 days in this great house. This house has amazing views and is equip with everything that you could possibly need to make your stay a memorable one. Howard and Melissa are wonderful hosts and couldn't have done more for us so that our stay was hassle free. We will definitely be back!! Thanks Howard and Melissa!

Wow...there is nothing else that best describes the week our young family had. The house was fantastic, the views defy description and the untouched beauty of the island was both magnificent. The weather was sublime, the water was warm, clear and full of fish. Sandboarding was exhilarating, climbing the worlds highest sand mountain was both a little hard work but inspiring. We explored the island in the 4wd and had great fun. A wonderful, wonderful week and we will definately be looking to head back again in the future.

This beach house has the most magnificent views, is very spacious and comes well equipped with basic items which is an asset when you have to come from the mainland with supplies. It also has a golf cart for making the trip down to the Resort which is a bonus as the house is high up on the hill, and being able to use the Resort facilities also adds to the value. I look forward to returning to the Blue Beach House sometime in the future and anticipate taking family with me to enjoy the experience. The Blue Beach House and its magnificent ocean views exceeded all expections. The house was ideally located at the Tangalooma resort where the children had full access to all of the resort facilities. Use of the golf buggy made it effortless to traval to and from the resort and its beautiful sandy beach.

We recently stayed at the Blue Ocean View Beach and had an absolute ball. We were met at check in by Howard who explained all aspects of the house and took us for a short tour of the area in the fabulous golf buggy.
The house was very well appointed with everything required for a great holiday. The views from the house are fantastic with sweeping views of the ocean and the famous Tangalooma Wrecks.
The use of the resort swimming pools, facilities and tour booking desk are an added bonus.
Our only negative point about the resort itself (not the house) was the price of the alcohol which we had been told about but were still a bit shocked at. However we still managed to have lunch time Happy Hours on most days.
The island offers many scenic views and great beaches, fabulous whale watching, snorkling, dolphin and fish feeding, 4wheel driving, and quad biking as well as sand tobogganing.
Our favourite thing was the whale watching and the fabulous house. It was very relaxing, very quite and serene gazing across the sand dunes and scrub out to the wrecks and ocean. Absolutely fantastic spot. -

We had a fabulous hoilday at the beach house- the hosts have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay enjoyabe. It is great for all ages as everything is there (even the golf buggy to save the walk up the steep steps). The view over Moreton Bay and the Tangalooma wrecks is unbelievable. Snorkelling at the wrecks was one of our favourite activities. We have booked to go back again as we had such a good time

Once the pleasant Mi-Cat was over we discovered that unfortunalty you can't drive thru the resort but you have to go the back track way which actually takes some time but does get you used to the pleasures of sand track driving watch your speed on the straight beach runs near the speed signs as even on this island police are on the radar-guns. (I don't think they tend to hang around the more deserted areas not that we were planning on speeding anyway.)
As us city folk are and used to a bit of luxury we gave overnight camping thing a miss and decided to book a rental house, we had some friendly communication with the proprietors before we left and stayed at the Blue Beach house as I don't like to admit it but it easy to keep the kids entertained with the x-box at night and the view by day is awesome. It' a comfortable house nice rooms and bathroom and has a big kitchen and spare beer fridge downstairs. It's not a long walk down to the resort but walking up could be an issue for some on the way back up the hill (there is a golf buggy available for hire though). There is a shop available for any essentials that you might run out of we discovered that they also take orders for any special requests. If you get bored having barbies (which I don't actually) there is a restaurant next to the pub in the resort, we asked during the day if they would make a birthday cake for one of our girls and they agreed without charging the earth. We did plenty of the activities - Snorkelling at the wrecks, Sand tobogganing, Quad bikes, Whale watching cruises, Kayaking (came free with the house) and of course dolphin feeding and the Blue Lagoon a rather refreshing fresh water lagoon.
There also is a fresh water hose available to keep the salt and sand from drying on the underside of the vehicle.
I think we will be back as it's not too far away from Brisbane but feels like a world away once your there. -

From the first booking Melissa and Howard could not have been more helpful,giving valuable information for our stay on the Island. The house was fantastic, the view took our breath away. Melissa and Howard have provided enough entertainment in the house; DVD's, Xbox, table tennis etc. for those rainy days and sunny days, fishing rods,tennis racquets, etc . Even just sitting in the lounge relaxing and taking in the magnificent views or reading a book was a pleasure. We would suggest hiring the golf buggy as the stairs to the resort would challenge the fittest athlete (return trip that is). We had full use of the resorts facilities and found all staff at the resort very friendly and helpful. We took all our food supplies as the island store is a little expensive. We would happily recommend Blue Ocean View Beach House to all our friends and colleagues as a great holiday venue for both families and couples.

Apart from the best Holiday destination, this house is very private, peaceful and very relaxing, nobody comes to annoy or pester you. There are no barking dogs, which is a big plus when we are on holidays. You have lots to do or very little to do, the choice is always yours. There is plenty of places to eat & drink or you can do your own cooking. This is truely a home away from home.
