This detached cottage is situated in the village of Tanygrisiau near to Blaenau Ffestiniog and can sleep four people in two bedrooms. Penllwyn is a detached cottage in the village of Tanygrisiau near to Blaenau Ffestiniog in the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage has one double bedroom, one twin room and a family shower room, making it suitable for four people. The cottage also contains a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and a woodburner. Outside, there is roadside parking and an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. With the steam railway passing right in front of this cottage and the mountains of Snow...donia all around, Penllwyn is a truly characterful cottage in North Wales.

Amenities: Electric convector heaters with woodburner in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio. Electricity and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking (off road parking for loading/unloading only). Secure bike storage. Enclosed, fenced garden with furniture and BBQ. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Note: This cottage is next to the steam railway line and therefore may experience some associated noise. Note: A sloping path leads to the cottage.

Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Town: Tanygrisiau was famous for its slate mining and is close Blaenau Ffestiniog, once the capital of slate quarrying. The town stands in an elevated, natural bowl amidst the mountains and has a good variety of shops and pubs.Read more

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  A home from home, beautiful cottage, very relaxing. My family enjoyed our week here, the train going past the cottage was great for our little boy.location was good,plenty of things to do,see and visit all within half an hour to an hour away, slate mine was just around the corner, had a great day out there,supermarket and a few take away places only a mile away, very handy.there is a park a few hundred yards along the road past the school, which is great for families. Cottage has everything thing you could think of to make it a most enjoyable stay, a real home from home.

  we stayed here for our honeymoon! we set off late afternoon so as we were driving into wales it was pitch black! little did we know what we were driving through! we moved in by torch light and un packed! we decided we would order a pizza haha little chance of that as all the takeaways shut at 9.30pm so had to settle for champagne that the owners had left us, when we woke up the next morning i stuck my head out the sky window and nearly fell off the bed! the views were absolutly amazing!!! mountains and fantastic scenery everywhere i looked. there is no where on this earth i would have rather woke up that morning. there is also a little train that runs past the cottage just 6 foot away from the door that toots its horn when it passes, it was like something you only read about in books! over the week we went down the slate mines, climbed snowdon, went to bangor, went to llandudno, climbed another mountain, this was my favourite, every corner we walked around gave us another fantastic view and there were ruins everywhere, old slate cottages still stand as though the people had just upped and left everything as it was, fireplaces still in tact etc, we couldnt believe what we were seeing, we will never forget our honeymoon and i would recomend this cottage without a doubt
