Wonderful, quiet, spacious getaway just steps from the Plaza!

Left on 03/09/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We had a wonderful stay at the Burch Street Casitas. Jim and Nancy were perfect hosts and the casita fit our every need. I'm recovering from hip surgery, so I needed a place that I could hang out without going crazy while my boyfriend spent a week learning to ski at Taos. The Burch Street Casitas couldn't have been a better fit. The kitchen is large and well stocked, and there's a nice little patio to catch the afternoon sun. Plus, it's in a quiet neighborhood, but only a few blocks from the Plaza, well within walking distance. For comfort, hospitality, and value, our week at our casita couldn't be beat!

Excellent place to stay in Taos, NM

Left on 02/21/2012 for a stay in December 2011

we booked 2 casitas for 2 couples for 1 resp. 2 weeks Dec-2011 - Jan 2012. Everything was perfectly prepared, even firewood in front of the entrance. The casitas are furnished and designed in the local New Mexican style, spacious, cozy and clean. Easy parking just in front of the casita. The owners were so helpful and friendly getting our winter vacation started and were always available.
We definitely would recommend this accommodation for younger or older couples, for a group of friends or -as in our case - father, mother, son and daughter-in-law (4 almost identical casitas available).

      Home away from home

Left on 02/05/2012 for a stay in December 2011

If you want to visit Taos with the option of not feeling like a 'tourista', this is the place to stay. Burch Street Casitas are a short walk to the square. Yet in the quirky Taos way, still on a quiet back street.
So, you can chill and really get away from it all right there at your Casita. The well appointed kitchen and comfortable accommodations mean that you don't need to venture out into the throngs just for a refreshment.
Or, you can be right in the thick of the party without having to worry about parking. It's your choice.
Top all of that off with the truly wonderful hospitality that Jim and Nancy provide and there simply is no better place to stay in Taos.

      Fantastic little casita

Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in January 2012

Discovered this while searching for nice hotels in central Taos. Price was great - cheaper than some hotel rooms. The little "casita" (there are only 4, connected to each other, but offset so each seemed like an individual one) was really nice. The single room is "U" shaped (with closet and bathroom in between the arms of the "U") with the king sized bed on one side of the "U", the full kitchen on the other (so the light from the kitchen does not bother the person still laying in bed waiting for you to fix the coffee!) The sofa/futon, TV, fireplace is on the "bottom" part of the "U". Room was nicely furnished, bed was very comfortable (firm, but not rock hard). Kitchen had everything needed for cooking, plus a few thoughtful staples so you don't need to buy coffee filters, salt, pepper, etc for just a few days use. The tile floor was comfortable due to the radiant floor heat. The room was a comfortable temp during the day and evening during a cold snap in January (kept the room at the temp set at the thermostat), but was unable to keep up with the 3 degree (F) overnight temps. The room was a bit chilly upon rising, but the space heater that was available in the room warmed up the room by the time the coffee was ready. This room is best for a couple (two adults) and maybe two smaller kids (the futon is not a full sized bed) or a third adult. The location was perfect - in a quiet neighborhood, with the casitas set behind the owner's house so it was back off the road. Able to easily walk to the plaza and main downtown area (mapquest says it is 0.5 miles, but it seemed closer). Parking was off-street next to the casita. I definitely would stay there again when I'm in Taos the next time.

      exceeded expectations

Left on 12/05/2011 for a stay in November 2011

This was our first time staying at the Casitas but it will definitely not be our last! The room was very comfortable and everything we needed for a long weekend. The casitas felt very peaceful and quiet, but it only took a quick walk to get to the plaza and all of the shops and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended if you want the comforts of home as well as the convenience of being near town - we can't wait to visit again!
Ps - big thanks to Jim and Nancy for allowing pets, our vacations would never be the same without our four-legged family member!

Cozy, charm-filled casitas with modern comforts, southwestern de

Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in December 2009

Jim and Nancy, the owners of Burch Street, live right here, so this is their home, and they make you feel like you are part of their extended family. You will love the well-appointed and spacious casitas, each beautifully and tastefully furnished in southwestern motif, with wonderful touches like radiant heating, extra large towels, complete kitchen facilities and fresh coffee fixings daily. You can't beat the quiet off the main drag location, with its serene neighborhood setting, yet it's less than three blocks from town. Lots of shops along the way and gorgeous views everywhere. You get that Old Town Taos feel at every turn, yet you have all the comforts of home when you walk through the door.

      Great Location

Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011

This was a very relaxing experiance. The units have everything possible you might need, even a washer and dryer in the unit so you can pack lightly if desired. Great walking location to the center of action (galleries and restaurants). You can return home to the quiet and just relax in front of your own fireplace or hang out on your deck. Plenty of parking available and the owners are very helpful as well.

Have a great time on your next trip to Taos!
