Our group of friends who love to hike selected this vacation home for a 5 day stay in Northern New Mexico. We had not spent time in arroyo Seco and we are so glad we did this time. This house is about 2 miles NE of arroyo Seco, so almost no traffice, near the end of a dirt road. Although there were two other small structures on the property, we were in the larger lodge only.
Our favorite part was the deck overlooking Taos Valley through the trees. We would enjoy a glass of wine out there after our daily hikes before heading into town for dinner. It was perfect for watching afternoon showers roll in. We thought we would need to drive to Taos for meals, but found wonderful charming spots right in arroyo Seco. Taos Cow for breakfast and ice cream, Aceq and Sabroso for dinner. If you plan to cook much at the house, you may wish to bring a knife sharpener, and although there was a wine opener, there were no wine glasses, so just a few adjustments needed. No way in except for a stairway, so not a real options for anyone who cannot climb stairs. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, great showers, loved having free Wifi, quiet and peaceful, we will be back! -

Jackie the caretaker was great. No matter how many times we called her, she was pleasant, professional & helpful. The property was awesome. My entire family enjoyed the area, the view and Taos.
We had a small problem when the electricity when out, but they did their best to get everything on & we were without power for about 4hrs. The cleaning crew could take a few lessons on vaccuuming & dusting. There were a lot of cobwebs, items that people left behind under tables & chairs.
