amsterdamGreat stay in the heart of Bali
Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in May 2013
I stayed for 2 days in the Bamboo villa and all I can say; it was fantastic, Villa Bamboo is a greatly designed 2 story studio with spectacular views on the best landscape Bali has to offer. The place is very comfortable, breakfast was excellent(the nicest omelette in Bali) you share a very nice, and very cool infinity pool from where you can look into the rice-paddies, the free local phone makes it very easy to arrange your dinners, trips, dances, etc. You do need a motorbike or car for the 10 minute drive into Ubud. I highly recommend this place.

MelbourneStill the best kept secret...Infinity Villas, Ubud
Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in April 2013
I have just returned from staying at Infinity Villas in Ubud. It was my second stay and just as perfect as the first. From the moment I arrived the stress of everyday life back here in Melbourne, just melted away. I took 3 friends with me and we rented both villas which was fabulous as we were the only guests and were thoroughly spoilt by all the staff. The villas are still absolutely immaculate. I absolutely loved the thick soft towels which were replaced on a regular basis and the luxurious toiletries supplied by the villa.
I cannot rate my experience at Infinity Villas high enough.
Max and his staff are just so attentive to your every need. They make you feel so welcome and no request is too much trouble.
In terms of value for money, service excellence and allowing you to experience the real Bali, Infinity Villas has it all.
I will be returning in 6 months and am already counting the days! -

My boyfriend and I have been in bali last summer! We are from Italy and after a 22 hours flight we have been welcomed at the infinty villa! A out-of-the-world villa, surrounded by wide and green rice fields. It was a surprise for us to find ourselves in a such quiet and peaceful place!just early in the morning you can hear birds that "sing" quite loud!:) Everything was even better than what you can read in the description! Max the owner is a delicious person and a talented artist! He was always very kind and helpfull! Helped us with transfers to Gili's and to find a beautiful villa in Pemuteran to continue our stay! Use the occasion to thank Max,his son Nico:),and Nyoman the driver who take us around Ubud to see the most famous and amazing temples, rice fields and views!thanks to all the staff too! special breakfasts with super fresh fuit salads and fruit juices!:)
Hope travels will bring us back to bali one day! And to infinity villa! -

When I close my eyes and let my mind wander, inevitably I end up back at the Infinity Villa in Ubud, Bali...
Lying in bed...
Surrounded by a sea of green and a never ending symphony of natures beauty.
The moment my wife and I arrived at Infinity, we knew we found somewhere truly magical...
As we drove the twisting country roads, the hustle and bustle of Ubud melted away, as we were transported into the enchanting world of rural Bali. In the distance sat a beautiful Villa, perfectly perched upon a knoll, at the heart of a tranquil stretch of unspoiled rice paddies.
The Villa is a magnificent combination of modern conveniences and artistic touches. The first floor has a spacious living room, full kitchen and dining area, and a fabulous outdoor bathroom that is both liberating and private at the same time. Upstairs is a wonderful master suite, encased in glass windows which slide away to allow the Bali breeze tickle your skin while you sleep the night away in the comfortably furnished bed.
The patio is a relaxing place to lie in a lounger and read the day away. And when it gets too hot? A dip in the Infinity pool will refresh the soul.
For the rest of my life one of my most cherished memories will be swimming in the pool, overlooking the starlit rice fields, listening to the chorus of frogs, as the fireflies darted about the sky.
What could make a place any more perfect?
Max, the most accommodating host we have ever had the pleasure of staying with.
From arranging breakfast, to helping plan day trips around Ubud, Max was always just a phone call away (cell phone provided!) to ensure that our stay at Infinity was all we wanted it to be.
He truly made us feel like Infinity Villa was our home in Bali. -

Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in November 2012
My wife and I have had the most fabulous stay for three weeks at Infinity Villas. Why so good..it is serene and peaceful, the ducks are entertaining, it is not in the tourist noise, but Ubud is close, and the decor and amenities are brilliant.
But that was not all..the staff are great, so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Mina does a fabulous breakfast but if you want dinner at the villa you can't go past her vegetable curry.
And then there is the host Max..he gives you a mobile phone that has all the important numbers in it, and ring him he makes it happen. We wanted to watch the australian open golf etc, so Max organised the golf channel on the TV, we wanted to play golf so he booked for us, we wanted a massage so he booked for us...nothing was too much trouble
Three weeks and we would go back again, and again ,and again.. -

From the moment I was picked up at the airport I felt as though I was being taken care of. Arriving at Infinity Villa was like coming back home even though it was my first time there. The transition from the airport to the villa was seamless. Once you step into Lotus Villa the energy of the entire property welcomes you with beautiful views, spaciousness and tranquility. Every detail from the art on the walls to the fresh flowers in the rooms has been well thought out. All you have to do is relax, unwind and just be.
If sleeping is your thing then not to worry because the spacious bedroom with its comfortable bed and airy and open feel will restore you every night. Enjoy a sunset with a book or watch the light show that the fireflies put on at night from the balcony that leads from the bedroom.
The infinity pool was a great way to start the day and even better at night when you return from a day of exploring the island.
Max your gracious host can recommend all kinds of activities and will be happy to organize your transportation to anywhere on the island. The staff at the villa are warm, kind and friendly and they prepare and incredible breakfast every morning that will get you ready for the rest of the day.
I recommend renting a scooter and exploring the island this way. Max took care of that upon arrival and the scooter was delivered right to the villa. It's about an 8 minute ride into Ubud. The ride itself is breath taking. It will take you through the rice paddy fields and through some quaint villages along the way. One place you must visit along Tirta road is "Made Bicek", a local warung the serves up the best grilled duck and ribs on the island.
I extended my stay at Lotus Villa for a full month. Trust me when I say...it's money well spent. The only difficulty I encountered at Infinity was saying good-bye and leaving the place :(
But I'll be back :)
Thanks so much Max :)

Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We spent 6 nights in Lotus villa in late December-early January 2013. Travelling with small kid (2.6 years old) I was very picky on choosing accommodation in Bali but villa Lotus was absolutely fantastic. What I appreciated most of all is:
- Beautiful views over rice fields, sunrise and sunsets are fabulous
- There are grasshoppers and fireflies in the evening, so you really feel close to nature (especially wonderful if you leave in big city as we are)
- Very convenient swimming pool, even during rainy season it was very warm. Although it is shared with villa Bamboo had no inconvenience at all, our kid was definitely the only one to swim all the time
- Villa is very large and is on two floors so even large family will have enough space
- Very attentive staff, breakfast is served daily into the villa. In case you would like to see very distant places driver is always ready to go with you. Local mobile phone is given at your convenience so you can always call and ask whatever you need.
- In fact I was really afraid of leaving in the middle of rice fields because of mosquitoes but there were no problems at all.
- Max was very helpful and always available, all descriptions given about the villa were correct.
Would highly recommend!

Having spent 6 nights at Villa Lotus in October, we can highly recommend staying here if you're after a relaxing holiday, staying in stylish accommodation, amidst the rice paddies, with access via a short limestone road. We made good use of the pool, which was a pleasant temperature and is situated in front of the villas. Most evenings were spent on the upstairs balcony taking in the spectacular views and then as it grew darker, watching the fireflies. Generally we had transport organised to take us into Ubud for dinner, where there is a great choice of very good restaurants. We enjoyed being able to have the windows open with the breeze wafting over us at night and slept well. Wifi reception was perfect. I must mention that Max is an excellent host and will accommodate any requests.

Ferrara - ItalyA truly Balinese experience
Left on 11/21/2012 for a stay in August 2012
I arrived at Villa Infinity with my children aged 9 and 12, just after a long stay in a 4 star hotel in Nusa Dua. I was wondering if I would have felt a big difference between the two kind of stay, and actually so it was. Villa Infinity is a true balinese experience!
The villa is set right in the middle of the rice fields, the road itself to reach it is a bit off road (but only in the last part), rightly so, because you could not be more in the middle of it!
The area is stunning at 360° (and quite upscale I would say...), no photos could fully give you the idea, and the view from the rooms left me speachless, with a peaceful and balmy atmosphere I will cherish for a long time, while the children enjoyed very much the swimming pool before and after the excursions Max organized for us very efficiently. They will never forget the day at the Elephant Safari Park, and also the Eco Bike tour was great!
The villa is very stilish, modern and balinese at the same time, furnished in a tasteful way, with Max's beautiful zen pictures of water drops on the walls.
From the moment we arrived we could feel immediatly home, the staff was so kind, Max a perfect and welcoming owner, and the driver he arranged for us to tour the island or simply take us at dinner in Ubud was the most reliable, honest and respectful guide we could ever want.
Everything was perfecly organized, from pick-up to airport transfer, from "made to order" breakfast to any kind of info and tours, but at the same time it was like feeling at home...we even had a local mobile phone with all numers "ready to use" and food delivery brochures in case we did not feel like going out for dinner. What is difficult to describe is the feeling this place left inside, you just have to try...for sure, when I return in Bali Villa Infinity will be again my home in Ubud.

We spent a week at Infinity Villa just north of Ubud in the quiet and serene rice fields. We had a wonderful time. Max, the owner was very helpful in booking transportation and sightseeing tours. Breakfast was provided and was always delicious and served with a smile. The staff were very pleasant and did everything possible to make our stay so wonderful. The villa and pool were very clean and well maintained. Walking to Ubud takes about an hour, providing a culturally rich experience in itself. We loved the fact that we were out of the hustle and bustle of the city and yet close enough by taxi if we wanted to enjoy the sights and sounds of Ubud.

Melbourne, AustraliaNice, peaceful stay in the rice fields
Left on 10/20/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We stayed at the villa for 5 nights in October with our 3 children ages 3,6, & 9. The villa was spacious and very nice and met all expectations. Max put out two extra beds for the kids and our 3 year old rotated around sleeping with whomever she liked best that night. The upstairs had plenty of room for the extra beds. We loved the bathrooms and shower overlooking the rice fields.
We were a bit worried about being away from central Ubud, but this didn't pose any issues other than the 10 minutes to get into town. Max was extremely helpful with planning and we had no trouble finding drivers each time we went into the city. We paid approx $6 each way for a driver and Nyoman (villa staff) was available most of the times we went in. I enjoyed the drive home as we saw areas that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. We made one dinner in the villa ourselves and ordered in one time, although it wasn't hot on arrival given distance. The villa staff can make a meal for you if you plan ahead, but we didn't use this service. Staying in the rice fields definitely outweighed this slight inconvenience as it was serene and beautiful and a away from all the other tourists : ) If we didn't have kids, we would have rented a motorbike which would have been super easy and fun for transport.
Pros: Peaceful quiet mornings and evenings overlooking the rice fields, privacy, lots of space, delicious breakfast, helpful staff and owner. Infinity pool right outside. Views!
Cons: Short section of dirt road on drive into Ubud for dinners was a bit bumpy. A few ants and critters, but to be expected when you leave the doors open all day and you have kids who leave crumbs. Couch was a bit uncomfortable.
All in all, we would most definitely stay here again. -

I booked this as a surprise for my girlfriend... I was slightly apprehensive, as although the reviews were incredible it just looked too good to be true! ... It wasn't!
We had the most amazing time here and it was probably the highlight of our entire trip.
Max ensured we were looked after well - the breakfast was lovely and the best thing is that Max supplies you with a mobile phone with many local numbers in here to eat, book excursions, or get lunch deliveries to your Villa.
Ubud is 10 minutes on a Scooter, which we hired off Max. The Scooter is brand new and well-maintained and an excellent way to tour the local area - don't be scared, give it a go! :)
Max sorted and booked a couple of trips for us which were great including an Eco bike tour and Elephant Safari park (the reputable one which is endorsed by Steve Irwin and so on...)
So, what I will say is... value for money is insane, breakfast is great, surroundings are incredible, proximity to Ubud is brilliant and we cannot wait to return to this slice of Balinese paradise!
Thanks for the thoroughly enjoyable Max - we will see you again soon.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Ubud, staying at Infinity Villas.
From the moment we arrived, we felt at home and the stress of everyday life just melted away. Our villa was just as the photographs show it to be...very tasteful,
clean and comfortable. The staff were just lovely and very discreet. Waking up in the morning looking out from the top floor bedroom, all you could see were the stunning rice fields. It was paradise! Breakfast was just delicious and a great start to the day. The tap water was drinkable and an added bonus.
My husband was most impressed that the internet was very useable, not to be taken for granted in Bali.
Our host Max was always on hand to answer any queries and make suggestions for activities, attractions and restaurants. We cannot stop raving about our stay with Max and his staff at Infinity Villas and will be returning very soon. -

We loved our stay at Infinity Villas. It was the last stay in our 4 week travel over Java and Bali, and it was all we hoped for. It was relaxing, quiet and yet only a 15 minute drive on the scooter to Ubud. Max arranged the scooters for us, also for our 14 year old daughter, and we had the best time driving with the scooters over the backroads to Ubud.
Max also arranged a bike tour for us and a rafting experience, which were nice too.
Overall, the villa is very nice, suited us (family of 4) very well and the scenery is stunning. If we go back, this place would certainly be on our list! -

We had a brilliant time at Villa Lotus - it was absolutely fantastic. My partner & I stayed here as part of our honeymoon & it's lovely for a romantic getaway. The villa looks exactly as it does in the photos. It's actually one of two villas next to each other. If you booked both -it would make a great place to getaway with friends as well. The bedroom was beautiful - big windows and a huge four poster bed & a balcony with a view over the rice paddies. We loved sitting up there in the afternoon - it was like looking at a living painting. The infinity pool overlooking the rice paddies is gorgeous -very refreshing. The breakfast was great- I recommend the banana pancakes - and we both loved the fact that the water at the villa is safe to drink straight from the tap ( and it tasted great) Max's villa is a bit out of town - but the drive with temples on the roadside and rice paddies is gorgeous. We actually enjoyed being a bit out of Ubud. We hired a scooter from Max which gave us total freedom. Ubud was nice - but so busy - with tons of traffic. We also organized a driver a couple of times when we wanted to go out in Ubud for cocktails & dinner and we also ordered takeaway to be delivered - all of which was very easy and cheap to do. Max was- really - the perfect host. He was quick to respond to emails, sent us detailed information about the villa and made useful suggestions. Once we arrived - everything we had organized ran like clockwork and Max helped us organize new things as well. He was very hospitable, always available but at the same time never ever intrusive. It's a delicate balance and Max has it down perfectly. We are already talking about a trip back to Indonesia - perhaps to Java - but we would definitely make sure to plan a few nights at Max's at the end of our trip. Highly recommend Villa Lotus- would love to come back!

Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Our stay at Infinity Villa was perfect. The villa's location is breathtaking as is the architectural details of the building. It was such a pleasure waking up at Villa Infinity, one morning I actually opened my eyes to the view of a full rainbow cascading over the rice fields.
Additionally our accommodations were comfortable and homey and included everything you would need away from home. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware and a fresh fruit basket. I especially liked the delicious smelling soaps in the bathroom. The staff was wonderful, everyone was very helpful and the included breakfast was delicious.
Since Villa Infinity's location is close to Ubud it was very easy to access by car or bike which is how most people travel in Bali and we were able to easily hire a driver for day trips. The pool was great for the day we decided to relax and take our time getting out.
I am look forward to returning!

Our stay at the Infinity Villa was amazing.
The setting of the private villa is spectacular with views of the gorgeous rice paddies in every direction.
The modern, luxurious, comfortable interiors are equally as beautifully, and the infinity pool is a tranquil place to relax and swim while taking in the views.
I especially love the indoor / outdoor feel of the villa, it takes every advantage of the surroundings.
Every detail has been thought of here, from comfortable linens, to tea in the kitchen cupboards, to a generous breakfast served each morning by friendly staff, to a local cell phone to use during your stay.
This place is the perfect quiet, serene retreat in Ubud.
I can't wait to go back.
Thanks Infinity Villa!!

We stayed at Max's villa for about three weeks starting mid June of this year (2012). What a gem of place in every respect! Without a doubt, what made the stay so perfect was Max and his staff and their amazing ability to make you truly feel that you are in a home away from home. We originally booked for two weeks but extended another week as we simply loved staying here and of course in Ubud. Its located about 10 mins by car/bike from town center, but that is part of its charm! You get to be away from the crowded center of Ubud yet close enough to enjoy the food, shops, etc. The photos (though beautiful) don't do this place justice. The gracious and very friendly staff - Mina, Putu, Ayu, and Nyoman - were all smiles and made the experience simply wonderful. Stay here if you want to experience a real feeling of Bali, surrounded by never ending rice paddies, and also have just the right amount modern conveniences to keep you happy. Place is immaculately maintained and just the balance! We will be back again and again to our new 'home' in Bali.

Infinity Villa is located 6 km north of Ubud, close to the rice fields of Tegallalang. It is surrounded by rice fields with a warm and modern design.
The villa we stayed in was called Villa Lotus. It is a two stories building with a shared infinity pool at the back and a private decking area for you to be relaxed by the pool.
The bedroom is located on the second floor with an amazing view and thoughtful planned outdoor toilet, a king sized bed and a balcony. We were very impressed with the toiletry used in the villa, especially the the nature essence from the handmade soap and bath essentials provided.
Our host, Max who just lives next door, provided great hospitality. We were greeted with a warm welcome, a mobile phone for us to use for our convenient and a booklet with carefully selected brochures introducing some of the best local shops and services.
The views around the villa were stunning, especially in the morning when the sun raises and the air is a bit foggy. You will be waken up by the roosters and watch the local farmers go to work. Then the staffs of the villa will greet us with a deluxe fresh cooked european style breakfast, where you can enjoy a wonderful meal with a breathtaking view.
Our stay at the Infinity Villa was delightful and unforgettable, our only regrets were the weather was not hot enough for us to use the pool more often and we could not stay for another couple of days.
If you are looking a great getaway from the busy city life, and seeking for a quiet and peaceful timeout, Infinity Villa is definitely you choice and you will not be disappointed.

Pure bliss is probably the best way to describe our time at Villa Infinity. The setting is idyllic, the amenities' perfect, and the staff went out of their way to cater for all our needs. On very short notice Max had booked us transport around Ubud and the complimentary mobile phone was an absolute winner and saved us a lot of effort. We tried quite a few of the activities, restaurants and guides we found recommended in the villa guidebooks, and without fail we were not disappointed.
We had our two small kids with us which also had an absolute blast and after three days none of us wanted to leave. A big thank you for making our stay very memorable.

Wow! The photos don't do this place justice at all.
After a long and very slow journey from the airport, walking into our villa (lotus) had an instant calming effect. It was spotlessly clean, but as important, it's the decor and furnishings which are so well done and create that relaxing feeling.
The setting is stunning, so peaceful with just the noise of the animals. A fantastic pool with sunbeds right outside the door. Loved the semi outdoor bathrooms.
The kitchen was well equipped and we were provided with a delicious breakfast of our choice each morning.
Max and his staff could not have been more helpful and the insightful touches, such as providing a mobile phone complete with useful local numbers just added to the wonderful experience.
We also took a trip to Infinity Gallery in Ubud to enjoy Max's stunning photography and have brought some prints home with us to enjoy.
A special mention to Nyoman who ferried us about cheerfully and provided us with lots of useful snippets about local life and our surroundings.
Really happy we chose to stay here, enjoyed some much needed peace and tranquility, whilst being close enough to Ubud's retaurants, temples, etc. for those times we felt like venturing out.
Anyone who wants to chill out for a few days in a perfect setting, this is the place to go.
Thanks Max and staff for a wonderful few days. -

My husband and I enjoyed a short stay at Villa Bamboo in June. We absolutely loved the location with the surrounding rice fields. The villa is tucked away from the village, so it's peaceful and quiet. It's also spacious and nicely furnished. We had all we needed for a relaxing vacation.
Max, the owner, was very accommodating and we felt welcome from the moment of our arrival.
It's a great idea to rent a scooter and Max was very helpful in making the arrangements for us. In the villa we also found all sorts of information about local activities, restaurants, etc. Another nice plus is that the owner provides a local mobile phone for guests to use during their stay-quite useful. Oh, and they make great banana bread for breakfast!
We would highly recommend staying at Villa Bamboo and we hope to return one day.
Thank you, Max.

SingaporeA Surreal Retreat
Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in June 2012
It was very accommodating of Max to welcome my family of 5 plus my friend's family of another 5 into his 2 villas at the same time. Surprisingly, 2 couples, 5 kids and an elderly grandpa fitted into the villas comfortably and we enjoyed our stay tremendously.
We hired our own drivers traveling from Nusa Dua to Ubud. After some effort in trying to locate the villas and after going through a bumpy and rustic passage, we finally arrived to catch the last shades of sunset in the midst of vast green field. The view was breathtaking and it was all worthwhile.
During the stay, our city kids finally had the chance to discover and appreciate nature. They saw red ants, big spiders, grasshoppers, moths, frogs, lizards, mama duck leading the baby ducklings at the great outdoors. Of course, the discoveries came in the midst of squeaking and screaming but hey, it was fun!
After a chaotic yet exciting dinner at Naughty Nuri, the two families retreated to our villa and had a great time together. When it was time for bed, my kids tucked into their cozy mattresses besides our king size bed and slept soundly under the fan and cool evening breeze. There was no need to use air con at all.
My husband and I continued our precious time together drinking Bintang at the balcony, under twinkle stars and crickets symphony. It was a surreal and magical experience after 13 years of marriage.
The next day, I went for a morning swim in the deep deep infinity pool, looking out into the infinite rice field, enjoying moments of solitary while others were still asleep. Wind gongs sounded in the fields. White crane flew by and the crisp morning breeze blew across my face. I said to myself, "What a wonderful world!"

The villa was remote and the way i had hoped. The owner, Max and the staff were friendly and always there to assist.
Even though the villa is only 20 minutes from the centre of Ubud by transport, it can be a little remote if you're travelling alone. Max can solve that problem by hiring a scooter for you, just request it. It was handy as it allowed me to see the surrounding country side and for getting into Ubud to do some shopping.
Overall i enjoyed my stay and i would recommend it to anyone thinking of going to Ubud to get away from the big smoke.
Thanks Max and staff. -

All of our expectations were exceeded at this villa. There are many places to stay in Ubud with a view of the rice fields, but there's nothing quite like this. Literally surrounded on all sides by rice fields, it's absolutely stunning, peaceful and refreshing. The villa was comfortable and well designed, the complimentary breakfasts brought right to your table were delicious and the staff was incredible. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

After the hustle and bustle of 5 nights in Sanur, it was wonderful to arrive at peaceful Villa Bamboo, courtesy of a complimentary pick-up by Infinity Villa's driver. The setting of the Villa is 6kms from Ubud, close enough to enjoy the shopping, restaurants and attractions there, by making use of the Villa's drivers - or if you're game, get Max to rent some push-bikes for you and really get out and about! Scooter hire available for the Villa, but we thoroughly enjoyed our bike rides through the surrounding villages - hard work with the heat and hills, but we like to think we saw a little bit of the "real Bali" on our excursions. The beautiful scenery and friendly locals made it all worthwhile. Bamboo Villa itself is very spacious and comfortable, kitchen equipment well stocked to make simple meals and a tasty breakfast supplied each morning. Local laundry service is also available and the use of a complimentary mobile phone to contact Max and his staff is a great idea. Complimenary WiFi also and a very refreshing deep pool is right outside the Villa (shared with Lotus Villa, but we never met our neighbours during our stay). There is also comfortable sun loungers to relax on and admire the view. Rice fields at different stages of harvest as far as the eye can see make for an ever-changing vista and interesting to watch the hard-working farmers. Sitting on the upstairs bedroom balcony in the evening watching the fireflies flit through the fields and glimpses of nearby mountains/volcanoes through the front bedroom window. We really enjoyed our stay, great place to get away from it all and really unwind, but still close enough to enjoy day trips out and about which Max was happy to arrange for us. The Elephant Safari was excellent, $85us (each) for the day which included driver pick-up from the Villa, elephant ride and talent show, great lunch and drop-off at the Villa again in the afternoon. Would definately book with Max and Infinity Villa's again.

My wife and I recently returned from our eight day stay at the Lotus Infinity Villa. It was beautifully situated in the rice fields with a mix of modern architecture and traditional accents. It was very serene looking out over the vivid green fields from the balcony or infinity pool. The owners were very helpful in giving advice for our stay and provided a cell phone loaded with phone numbers for taxis, restaurants etc. I also really liked Max's photography and brought back a couple of prints from the Infinity Gallery for my home and office. Overall, we had a very memorable experience and we look forward to returning.

All I can say is wow...My wife and I just returned from spending 5 nights at the Villa Bamboo/Lotus in Ubud, Bali. We spent the first five nights in a 5 star resort in Nusa Dua, where there is nothing more than pollution, people, and traffic jams...Luckily my fiancee at the time(now wife) suggested we lengthen our stay from 3 to 5 nights at the infinity villas. Boy were we glad she did.
We had the most relaxing times at the villa and truly enjoyed the beautiful countryside. Upon arrival to the villa in an air conditioned van with a driver provided by Max(the owner) we were amazed. The villa is a few kilometers outside of Ubud which is actually a blessing. So much quieter and less touristsand traffic. Max provided a moped (scooter) for us for the week so we could explore the island. Our highlight of the trip was just cruising the rice fields on our moped enjoying the beauty.
Every morning a delicious breakfast is supplied. Max gave us a cellphone in case we needed anything and it added a sense of security in case we got lost or ran out of petrol. Max recommend 5 or 6 restaurants and we ate at all of them...All were delicious. Tutmak Cafe our favorite, Terazo, Cafe de artistes, Pizza Bagus, and Nomad were all great.
The villa itself shares space with the inside and outside. You are a part of nature. It is very elegant and well refined yet simple it style. There is nothing like showering in the morning rays of sun in a shower inside while to your right is nothing but fresh air and rice paddies.
Katie and I would highly recommend this place to friends, colleagues, or other travellers. I would recommend making this place a homebase for families, honeymooners, anniversaries, or just a couple looking to get away from it all.
For those traveling to Bali I would highly recommend this villa. Its truly charming and relaxing. Safe travels and enjoy your trip. -

We had asbolutely fantastic time at Villa Lotus, and Max and his staff were the reason for that. Max was very prompt in responding to emails, and checking on us to help in any which way needed. They also provide a cell phone to use during your stay. Barring the fact that it is a little interior (which is what we wanted, away from the central Ubud), it is very much what you see in the pictures and description.
The Villa is very well done and very very well maintained, with 360 degree views of the rice fields. The infinity pool which almost blends into the fields is amazing! We were served very good breakfast every morning and I miss the coffee very much! Wouldnt stay anywhere else in Bali - highly recommend!! -

My husband and I spend most of our time in Bali. When we do, we live in the Kuta area, because it is convenient to get to and from work, but most of the time, the noise is unbearable. I ended up scouring the web for a nice homey place to stay in Ubud for a weekend getaway. My plan was to be undisturbed, right smack in the middle of green fields (sawah), be lazy and get some needed peace. We got what we wanted and more at Villa Lotus. The pictures does not do the villa justice. My husband, who is extremely hard to please kept saying how much he loves the place. For me, I adore the semi outdoor shower, the spectacular view, the quiet evenings, the clean, clean, clean villa, right down to the pots and pans (not a speck of dust). If you are looking to conjure up romance with a special someone or just to see Bali as you imagine it should be, but in a luxurious comfortable setting then I recommend you to not waste your time and look elsewhere.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the Infinity Villas. Everything was as displayed in the photos. When booking our stay, we found Max to be prompt in replying to our emails and happy to help in anyway he could. This included arranging transport and offering tips and suggestions for our stay at the villas.
The accomodation was spacious and well set out, with the emphasis on integrated indoor/outdoor living. The villas overlook an expansive rice field and you can see the ocean and the volcano from the back deck. The infinity pool is excellent and a great way to stay cool and watch the world go by. The staff provided a lovely breakfast each morning and were happy to cook other meals as required.
The villas are out of town, but this only adds to the experience. There are a few small warungs along the way which provide great local food.
We highly recommend the villas and would definately stay there again. -

I would like to thank Max and the staff for their warm hospitality. Before coming to Bali I was really exhausted and tired from the busy city life. This quiet place was all that I needed to relax. I am happy that my boyfriend and I decided to stay in this hidden gem and not in the hotel in the busy touristic place. I've never imagined how beautiful the rice fields could be, and not just the rice fields. Two-storyed Bamboo Villa is very new and stylish and has all the facilities to enjoy your stay including the kitchenette and very clean swimming pool (shared). The view from the bedroom is breathtaking and in the evenings you can sit at the balcony and enjoy the sounds of wild nature - piping of frogs, etc. I would definitely come back and will recommend this villa to relatives and friends.

The Lotus Villa is stunning, surrounded 360º by green rice fields, views of the whole range of Bali's Mountains, and on a clear day, of the southern coastline... the place is beautifully designed and appointed, executed with a passion for elegance and detail, i couldn't have asked for more. And the deep infinity pool is contiguous with the rice fields, you feel you have landed in the essence core of Bali. Service was awesome, privacy perfect, location is at 500m above sea level, so a nice change, cooler.

We stayed here for 6 days and spent every night gazing at the fireflies over the rice field. The villa is located in the midst of paddy field n the view was great. The environment is peaceful and calming. Our stay there really gave us the opportunity to get close to nature and the local way of life and yet at the same time be pampered by creature comforts in the villa. We got to walk around the paddy field and say hello to the friendly farmers and watch the ducklings, dragonflies, white herons, etc.
Breakfast was great n villa was absolutely beautiful and clean. The bedroom is on the second floor which provided a great view of the paddy field. Waking up every morning to such fantastic view is great bliss.
All in all, we enjoyed every single moment there! Can't wait to go back! -

We originally booked a hotel in Ubud, but when we decided to stay longer, the Infinity Villa looked like it would be relaxing and peaceful, but still close to Ubud. We fell in love with Infinity Villa from the moment we drove to the location. The design of the space and the serene and beautiful surroundings will take your breath away. We decided to extend our stay to 6 nights. The Villa was clean, modern, and had all the amenities we could ask for. The breakfast was delicious; and we looked forward to a daily swim in the pool. The view of the sunrises and sunsets from the balcony were incredible.
We spent our days exploring the surrounding area by talking long walks and traveling by motorbike. The Villa is only a few kilometers from Ubud and very easy to access by motorbike or car. Max and Ulrich were always available for recommendations and even arranged a motorbike and mountain bike excursion. They also had great recommendations for dining, massage, biking, walking and anything else you could want. It was also very convenient to have Internet and a local cell phone with numbers for staff and local restaurants and services (provided by Max and Ulrich).
I can't say enough about the Villa and its location. We will be back and look forward to staying here again.

Wij verbleven twee weken in Bali begin november 2011.

Our experience at Infinity Villa Ubud was amazing. It was exactly what we were looking for - a little more higher end, a little off the beaten trail, tranquility and everything that we would need at our disposal.
Located in the middle of a rice paddy field and about a 10 minute scooter ride outside of the main drag of Ubud, Infinity Ubud was the ideal location for us.
The staff were attentive, the villa itself was beautiful, clean, modern, had a private pool and very spacious. More than what we had expected really.
We were provided with our own personal cel phone that had all the important numbers for Villa staff, to the best restaurants and to some of the best spa locations.
The staff also helped to arrange our trip to the Gilly Islands including all of our transport ensuring our trip was seamless and easy.
If i were to come back I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend Infinity Villas Ubud to anyone visiting here! -

Left on 11/28/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My sister and I travelled to Bali for a much needed break earlier this month (November 2011). We decided on a few nights in Seminyak to enjoy the boutiques, bars and restaurants and then to really just relax and soak up the delight that is Bali we travelled up to Ubud and chose to stay in Infinity Villa. And for this we were not disappointed.
I am not one to normally write a review, generally speaking I get back to the normality of life and the holidays become memories but for Infinity Villa I feel that I wanted to. I wanted to write this review to absolutely recommend the delight that is the Infinity Villa. A review that I had read from a previous guest, prior to me making my reservation, was that the pictures did not do the villa jutsice and I have to say that I would have to agree. The villa is just divine, and it was such a pleasure to stay somewhere which felt more like a home-away-from-home. The fit outs were very comfortable and who doesn't love not one but two outdoor bathrooms (cleverly designed for optimum privacy). Everywhere you look the view is spectacular and to be honest we were more than happy to spend a lot of our time in the villa rather than busy ourselves too much with excursions here, there and everywhere.
My only feedback that I have was that the location is outside the centre of Ubud. We quite enjoyed that cause it means you get to be out there in what could be called the 'real Bali' and suspended in local life and the rice fields. Not difficult to get around, call it 10 minutes by car to the centre of Ubud (which is a small price to pay to be in such an idyllic location) but the dirt road to the villa can be a little bumpy but neverthless added to the adventure and the serene experience that is Infinity Villa.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Lotus. We were looking for a quiet and peaceful place away from the crowds and this was exactly what we got. We couldnt have enough of the 360 degree rice field views in the day and the fireflies over the fields at night. We enjoyed dipping the the infinity pool while watching the quiet rice fields. The architeture and decor of the house was very well done.
The breakfast was delicious everyday. We mostly enjoyed the fresh fruit bowls and the coffee the most. We still miss the tasty mangoes and coffee here.
The owners were very helpful. They gave us a cellphone to use and were available to answer any questions anytime of the day. Also they got us a rental motorbike which was the best way to see Bali.
We would highly recommend this villa to anyone who is visiting Bali and wants to get away from the crowds and have a peaceful, comfortable stay.

My husband & I arrived at Villa Lotus on 20 October 2011. We were greeted by the manager, Diana, who showed us through our Villa. He explained everything we needed to know, and he also provided us with a mobile phone which we were entitled to use for our 3 day visit. It was pre-set with telephone numbers that we may have needed during our stay (ie. drivers/local attractions/villa owner etc). This was definitely a great help to us. The first thing we noticed about our accommodation was the amazing views, we were completely surrounded by the rice fields, it really was quite breathtaking. It is so quiet & peaceful at Infinity Villas, a welcome contrast to the hustle & bustle of other popular places like Seminyak & Legian etc. The real magic happened at night, you really have to experience for yourself the beauty of the landscape at night. Fireflies floating amongst the rice fields, frogs & crickets the only sound you will hear. Paradise! The Villa itself was lovely, a small kitchen is provided with cooking facilities & a fridge. There is no oven, just a gas cook top, which was fine. The decor is nice & the villa is very clean. The pool is lovely with it's view over the rice fields & surrounded by lush gardens. If I could offer any advice, it would be this. Don't let the distance of Infinity Villas from Central Ubud deter you. It is most certainly worth it. You only need to make sure, if you are in town, that you get a driver with a bigger car (not a Taxi) so they can access the Villa via the dirt track into the ricefields. It is roughly 10mins out of town, & well worth it. Given the distance from town, we made sure that we stocked up on groceries so we had snacks & home-cooked dinners at the Villa. Our breakfast was cooked daily by the staff. In summary - I cannot recommend Infinity Villas' enough & I most definitely return. This was a highlight of my 2 week Bali visit. I wish Max all the best for the future, & I look forward to returning.

Stephan and Ulrike were very caring about us and personable. Their recommendations of restaurants and massage places were awesome and made our stay even better. The breakfasts provided were very good and detailed while the room with full kitchen allowed us to cook at will. Everything in the villa has "design" in mind and its a pleasure just to look at the details. We enjoyed the pool every night and had peaceful sleep listening to frogs and crickets. This villa is incredible! My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in august 2011 and I am almost hesitant to say too much about it so it doesn't ruin the surprise on upon your arrival! Most reviewers say the pictures do not do the villa justice and I would have to agree. The villa itself is gorgeous, immaculately clean, spacious, has incredible views of endless lush rice paddies and is a stunning example of modern Balinese architecture. The hospitality we received from the owners deserves more than 5 stars. They really strive to ensure you have the best stay possible from offering to arrange transportation to/from the airport, booking you a scooter, suggesting restaurants, spas and activities as well as just a friendly chat if desired.
The villa is located around 6km from the heart of Ubud and a scooter was highly suggested to have the most flexibility and mobility to/from town. I was a bit hesitant to rent a scooter and join the seemingly chaotic traffic, but one of the owners allowed us to test out her scooter before booking one for ourselves. After a few laps on the long villa driveway, we decided we were up to the adventure and booked a scooter. Navigating around town on our little scooter turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! You really feel like a local!
Breakfast is served each morning in your villa and we had a choice of pancakes, eggs or French toast along with coffee/tea/juice etc. Fresh seasonal fruit was also provided along with toast and jam. It was like we were staying at a 5 star resort! Having a leisurely breakfast while overlooking the infinity pool and rice paddies is truly an incredible experience. We had such a good time during our time here and hope you choose this villa for your stay while in Ubud. You will not be disappointed.

The hosts were always available for advice and the kindly staff were available whenever we needed help. The brekfasts were delicious and ample. We would open the doors at night, let the mosquito netting down and listen to all the beautiful noises of nature. The splash pool was super fun and we ended up playing in it every afternoon. Last June 22nd 2011, I traveled to Bali with my partner for the first time and, although everybody advised us to stay in a more known area such as Kuta or similar, we are so glad we decided to stay in this Infinity Villa in Ubud. As all the tourist guides say "Ubud is the real Bali", but we can assure that it truly is. Staying in this villa (a few km from the centre of Ubud), we had the chance to meet local people firsthand, not to say the beautiful landscape of the rice fields in which it is located and that we enjoyed everyday during breakfast!! On the other hand, the villa has all the comfort you would look for in any high rated hotel in the island: lots of space, a little but more than enough kitchen, a wonderful private swimming pool, a king sized bed in the upper floor and two balinese-styled outdoor bathrooms which made our stay really comfortable. Also, the whole staff was really professional and helpful to us and the owner, Max, looked after us all the time, solving any problem we had and giving us suggestions, helping us with the arrangements and bookings... Definitely, it is the best accommodation we could have asked for and we would surely recommend it to anyone visiting the island!!

Having been to Bali ten years ago I couldn't wait to get back .I brought my wife of three years to show her a place that I hold as one of the world's most beautiful and wondrous . Ubad is the epee centre of my Bali so four days of decompression for my over worked wife was in order and Infinity villas was the perfect start to our Bali holiday .
If there is anything negative I can say about the villas is some people might have trouble with the distance from the town .To us however, it was part of the magic arriving in the dark of night we awoke surrounded by rice paddies singing birds and quaking ducks .
Our villa was spectacular with our own plunge pool a large living room and a king size bed in our master suite overlooking the countryside . Every morning we were brought a beautiful breakfast which we enjoyed sitting on our deck watching the beautiful Balinese world unfold in front of us .
P.S If you stay, please say high to Ron the cat for us

It was a pleasure having Jamie and his wife Sarah as our guests. We appreciate the time they took to write this review, but we wanted to comment on a couple of points.
Since Jamie and Sarah were here, we have arranged for 2 of our staff to get their driver's licences. We now use our vehicle to take guests to Ubud whenever they would like to go, for a nominal service charge. We have a long list of drivers for longer excursions or planned trips to Ubud.
We think of a plunge pool as being quite small. Our pool is 9 meters long and 3 meters wide, and deep enough for diving into.
The cat might not answer to "Ron" as his name is Lillo. But he'll probably answer to anything if you give him a bit of lovin'.
Cheers,
Max -

Our family recently returned from a wonderful week long stay at this property. My wife and I stayed in Villa Lotus and our two teenage daughters stayed next door in Villa Bamboo. It was the perfect arrangement. We were close enough to one another for us to keep an eye on things, while still enjoying our privacy. The girls loved the pool and we all marveled in the natural surroundings. The beautiful gardens at the Villas, the rice fields all around, the volcanoes and the ocean in the distance captivated us. We even got to see a giant moth, which had just come out of its cocoon that morning. The fireflies dancing in the rice fields at night entertained us as well. The villas were bright, spacious and modern. The beds were comfortable and relate having the mosquito nets, although we did not see many mosquitoes at all. The kitchen with full sized fridge was a bonus. We found the service to be excellent and our hosts were very helpful in arranging transportation and suggesting the best sites, restaurants, shops and galleries to visit. We very much enjoyed the secluded location, which still offered very easy access to Ubud. We loved our time here and would return in a heartbeat. We can recommend these villas to families, couples and solo travelers alike, if you are looking to experience some natural beauty and rural Balinese life, while still having the amenities and conveniences of Ubud close by.

Definitely worthy of 5 stars! Gorgeous place, immaculate, stunning views, great service...I loved waking up to the lush green rice fields each morning, making myself a French press of Illy espresso (one of those little touches that made my stay at the villa that much more special), sitting on the upstairs balcony, listening to the world of creatures below and above. This little paradise is just a few minutes away from the restaurants and shops of Ubud. After a busy day of exploring, I would take a refreshing dip in the infinity edge pool, marveling at the stars and the fireflies busily going about their business. It was impossible to feel more relaxed and peaceful in these moments. Harrowing as it can be, I would definitely suggest renting a scooter during your visit. There is so much to see and explore in the area and it gives you a great sense of freedom. The hosts organized this for me as well - the scooter was brought right to the villa - once again, the service and attention to detail was impressive. The road leading up to the villa is a bit rugged, but it is part of the rustic charm of the countryside - and such a juxtaposition compared to the luxurious settings of the villa. After just one or two trips, I felt like a local maneuvering the speed bumps. Bali is amazing - and I would highly recommend this villa as part of your stay.

Mini-novel here, a testament to how much we loved our experience. We came upon this villa on homeaway.com a few weeks before our trip, worried that we wouldn't find decent accommodation at a decent price. When we found this, we were glad to have it out of the way, not expecting anything great, or even anything out of the ordinary. The experience we were to have, little did we know, would be one of our best. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the villa - the place (the villa itself, the surroundings, and the feel) was so much better than the pictures. Tucked away seemingly in the middle of nowhere (few lights around, except for the welcome fireflies), but easy to get to/from town (Ubud), spotlessly clean, fresh, and not least, quiet, it is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. A very rural experience without any of the inconveniences. The only sounds we heard were ducks and chickens in the day, and crickets and frogs at night. Being in the middle of paddy fields, it was also much cooler than elsewhere. Max, the owner and our host, was always available to help with anything we needed, and was ever helpful, from suggestions on what to see, arranging local transport, and even arranging food for us on the first night. He even lent us his own motorbike when we couldn't find one to rent! We ate yummy breakfast made fresh and according to our wishes every morning. The villa and the surroundings were also very clean (a priority for us) and well-maintained. All this made for a very relaxed and personal experience, and a great holiday. We will come back for sure, now that we feel like we have a friend in Bali! Thank you for your patience with all our questions Max, and for your wonderful hospitality.

While traveling through Bali in april 2011, I seized the opportunity to stay at the Infinity Villa Lotus suite just outside of Ubud. After several days of coastal resort life it was a pleasant change of pace indeed! Upon my arrival, I received a warm welcome & a quick tour of my suite. The first thing noticed is the clean, fresh & spacious living room/dining room. The soft, warm colours instantly make you feel welcome. Beyond the large sliding glass doors is the infinity pool complimenting an already amazing view of the rice fields. Adjacent to the dining room finds the kitchen which is fully equipped with new appliances and accessories - everything an amateur chef on holiday would need. The main bath is bright, open & well appointed. Pool access via the main bath is a nice touch. Opposite the bath is a large walk in closet with ample storage space. There is also an additional storage area under the stairs if needed. Up the beautifully sculpted stairway are the bedroom, balcony & half-bath. Again a very clean, comfortable setting complete with a spectacular view of the Balinese countryside (the evening fireflies were a bonus). Although the online photos of Infinity Villa accurately capture the setting & decor, they simply do not do this establishment justice. The owners Max & Ulrike are two of the kindest people and were very helpful throughout my stay. Everything from directions to shops to having a scooter delivered to my door, the entire staff was very accommodating. Needless to say, my expectations were exceeded & I strongly recommend anyone traveling in Bali to make a point of staying at Villa Lotus. Everything you need is provided in a clean, safe & peaceful environment.
