Five minutes from Telchac Puerto you will find Casa Playa, a beautiful vacation rental beach home, which was recently professionally remodeled and updated.

This 2 bedroom, 2 bath seaside villa overlooks a full size, in-ground pool with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Upstairs in the back is a spacious one-room apartment equipped with its own kitchenette and bathroom. The interiors are finely appointed with artwork and all the amenities you need and want in a fine beach home. The open-plan living room, dining room, kitchen and terrace all overlook the sea.

At Casa Playa, the designer-builder-owner has put many extras in this two... bedroom, two bath villa and the studio apartment over the double garage. It has a breathtaking view of the ocean overlooking the beautiful full size in-ground ceramic tile swimming pool. The interiors are finely appointed with original artwork and comfortable furniture and all the amenities you need and want in a fine beach home. The open plan living room, dining room and kitchen all look out to the sea.

Picture yourself mixing a batch of margaritas in the lovely white kitchen which is fully equipped with full size appliances: stove, refrigerator, microwave and even a dishwasher. The chef’s working kitchen has ample storage and cabinets filled with pots and pans, dishes, and glasses. It has all you need to prepare a gourmet meal or casual beach fare. Nothing has been overlooked.

Wake up in the master suite to a wonderful view of the sea. Enjoy the queen sized bed with a fine mattress and the furnishings of a bureau, desk, closet and a private ceramic tile bath. The split plan has a guest bedroom that is large with two double beds with best grade mattresses, a closet, a bureau, a desk and a private ceramic tile bath – just right for friends and family. The bedrooms have remote controlled air-conditioning and there are, of course, ceiling fans throughout the house.

Many guests spend most of their time on the expansive terrace which has great sea breezes most all the time, making it a desirable spot to enjoy the comfortable cushioned white wood furniture or the hammock – a wonderful place for relaxing and reading.

The white powder sand beach is perfect for long walks and the gentle surf is great for safe swimming, snorkeling and fishing. This is the beautiful Gulf of Mexico!

If you can tear yourself away from all this, Telchac Puerto is only two kilometers up the beach and has stores for fruit and vegetable shopping, and basic groceries, a bakery, seafood restaurants and a clinic. The town plaza is charming with activities and a children’s playground.

You may want to go just down the road to the lagoon to take pictures of the magnificent flamingos. The marina is just around the corner from Casa Playa. Here you can rent a boat, go fishing and buy the freshest of fish at the local fish cooperativo. (And if you are bringing a BIG family, we have another rental home that sleeps 8 people that overlooks the Marina)

Want a little pampering? The Reef Yucatan Resort, a fantastic five star all inclusive hotel is just across the canal. Day passes are available at reasonable prices should you want to take advantage of their exclusive facilities and great restaurant.

A car is not absolutely necessary but it adds to your enjoyment of the area. It also makes it easier to explore the nearby Mayan ruins and visit the exciting beautiful city of Merida less than an hour away. There are busses should you prefer public transportation.

  This house afforded two things that we were desperately seeking when we stayed there... peace and privacy. The house is located in Puerto abrigo, a tiny fishing port just west of Telchac Puerto. You can walk into Telchac, but you aren't in it. The way the house is built, we couldn't actually see any other houses close by, but we did have a lovely view of the beach, the palm trees and the Gulf beyond. We loved taking walks up and down the beach which was practically deserted most of the time. The big swimming pool was a great place to cool off anytime of day, but especially towards the end of the day and watch the birds flying overhead in the sunset light. Inside, the house was comfortable and really spacious. The two bedrooms are separated by a hallway, and each have their own well-appointed bathrooms. The kitchen is great... had everything we needed, plus it was sunny and allowed the person in the kitchen to talk to whoever was sitting on the couch or in the dining room. The covered patio just outside the dining room/living room was a favorite place to hang out, especially on hammocks. One night we slept upstairs in the third bedroom, which is really like a studio apartment. It has its own kitchenette and bathroom. We slept up there to catch the ocean breeze and keep the windows open without using air conditioning. It was very nice, very quiet. When we were there, we didn't have internet connectivity, which added to our peace at the time. Now, we understand they have added internet.
