Most items needed for a several day stay were supplied in the room. The kitchen is small but had enough tools to serve 4 people easyish meals. We brought most of our food, (to help with expenses) along with our George foreman grill for "grilling" and to supplement the single electric burner. The balcony is also small but was still awesome for having a cup of coffee in the mountain morning air with my husband. Our 2 boys enjoyed the loft and it was nice to be able to send them to a different area to play and sleep. I would stay here again and also recommend for people looking to stay in Telluride and not spend a bundle.
Would you recommend this vacation rental to a friend?

Great location! Condo was very clean and large enough for 4 people, although did not spend much time in room. They have a plug in electric stove top plate so homecooked meals are possible. Pots and pans are in room. Looove Telluride and would most definetely stay here again. Read more

We stayed 5 nights during ski season. The unit was well decorated and close to the gondola with easy access to the slopes and the town. There was adequate space for storage with 2 large dressers. The one design problem was a counter high table for dining with only low chairs for seating. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues which were handled promptly. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back again. Read more

This was my first trip to Telluride and I was very happy with this rental. It was comfortable and very close to the gondola which made it easy to get to town. There were only 2 of us so the upstairs loft went unused but if you had kids it would still be a comfortable rental. The location is great if you want to stay in Mountain Village because it is close to the gondola that takes you to town. The only additional amenity I would want is a private hot tub. I would rent this place again.
Simple and Clean

I got this place at a great rate. It is worn but clean. We Stayed 4 nights. Parking is not included but there is free parking down by Gondola that you can park, walk to Gondola and ride. The walk is a ways but not bad. There is microwave and small fridge. We bought lunch makings and breakfast foods; although we tend to hit the new Starbucks in the Village. I will definitely use again if the price is right. Check in is in town (Telluride) not Village Mountain or at sight.

Blue Mesa was the perfect place to stay for a 6-day ski vacation. The loft gave us a bit more room for our family of four, and the location to the slopes was ideal. I would highly recommend it. This is not the highest-end lodging, but the price we paid was not at the highest end either. Every night we took the gondola down into town, which was a beautiful way to head out to dinner. Loved it.

The location and price of this condo is fantastic. There was just enough kitchen and the space was used well. Nothing fancy but very functional. Only issue revolved around getting the right keys Read more

The kitchenette has a scant set of utensils and dishes. Only a couple of forks, 2 plates, 2 coffee mugs-nothing matches. It's pieces they have acquired. When you pay good money to stay here- I would at least expect a better equiped kitchenette with the basics. Good location

Very comfortable lodging and clean. We had 4 people stay in the room. There was a king size bed downstairs and a queen bed upstairs in the loft. Nice balcony view and very comfortable for fitting 4 people. The only down side was trying to find the place. Mountain Village has a ton of lodging so it took us about an hour to find our place. I would definitely stay here again. Read more

The reservation crew was amazing in accommodating our group needs, the on-line registration/room access process was a breeze, but the late afternoon check-in was an issue as was the uncleaned room once we entered. Once the room was cleaned, I immediately noticed the well-worn carpet, but all amenities were standard. The location of our room simplified coming and going from the village core, but the unloading/parking/accessing our vehicles was complicated/expensive. The rooms across the hall that faced the village and were kept awake until the bar closed at 2am.

I was a little confused on how to get into my room. I'm not sure if there was something stated in an email that I overlooked but there is no check in desk to pick up a room key. You have to call and get a code for the doors. I would pull up a map before arriving so you know exactly where it is located as well. Our cab driver dropped us off at the wrong building. There is a small kitchen but it does not include a stove or burner so we brought a small hotplate. No hot tub. We also were a little scared because we were not expecting the room to be cleaned but someone came in mid-week and replaced the towels and made the bed. Read more

It sounds like you had some trouble getting to your unit. We do have an online check-in system however we also provide a 24 hour phone service in case of issues like you had. I hope you were able to seek out some direction from them.

Great ski in/out location in Telluride Mountain Village. Furnishings are a bit dated and worn. There was no remote for the outdated TV. There was a .Cr, but no DVD player. The coffee maker and the vacuum were worn out & should be replaced. One if the two keys did not fit the door lock. The faux wood tiles in the bathroom are not properly attached to the floor (they move as you step on them). Spend a few hundred dollars to modernize and it would be a great place. Read more

Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had difficulty finding the entrance. It can be tricky finding your way around Mountain Village, especially when you arrive at night. Unfortunately, parking is not available for this condo, guests need to park in one of the public lots where there is a nightly charge.
A Perfunctory Stay
Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in September 2011 | John Hartwell
Overall, my stay at Blue Mesa Lodge was fine. I would describe it as perfunctory, nothing special except for the location in shwanky Mountain Village. It was convenient to where I wanted to go and in general, a comfortable room. The details, however, left something to be desired.
1. The carpet in the place was not in good condition and in many places was buckling. It gave the room a "seedy motel" feel.
2. Tiles in the bathroom were loose and could literally be lifted out of the floor. Again, "seedy motel."
3. While there are indeed two beds in the room, the fact that the king bed is essentially just a box spring and mattress dropped on the floor of the living room area was pretty cheesy. The only way to comfortably watch the TV is to sit on said bed together as a group. Really? Not exactly a "homey" or "comfortable" experience. Given points 1 & 2, this didn't exactly help the perception of the experience.
4. Was there a phone in the room? Did I miss it? While a number was listed on my room information, I did not see a phone anywhere in the room itself. A family member tried to call the number at one point during the week and got a recorded message for someone's personal home number. She then called the "front desk" number, where the attendant took a message and assured her that I would receive said message. No such thing happened. How was I supposed to know about this message? Thankfully, there was no emergency, but c'mon - what's the expectation here? Read more

Thank you for your comments and suggestions for Blue Mesa 41C. We have already addressed the maintenance issues that you listed. We will also pass on your suggestions to the homeowner. We especially apologize for the confusion with the phone message from your friend. With cell phones, we so rarely get phone messages that some of our new employees may not have known how to handle that. We add that to our staff training.

This place is a great value. The room was great for the 4 of us. Next time I would go with the king/2 twins for sleeping convenience. But the location was great. Not too far from the gondola. It was very quiet at night. There is a great pub just downstairs to eat and enjoy drinks that has fantastic prices. Would stay here again for sure. Read more

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Village mainly because of the lack of crowds of people and the weather was great.
We visit Telluride often throughout the year and the free concerts gives us another reason to getaway. Cocina la Lux was a great place to eat breakfast and the Gondolas were a main attraction. Read more

Blue Mesa was great - when we finally got a room. Figuring out which door to access was very confusing. Then when we go to our room, there was no key in the lockbox. We had difficulty reaching the 24 hour service. When we finally did, we had left the mountain village and had to return. She gave us another room, but that did not have a parking spot so we had to call the 24 hour attendant - again difficult to reach. All this was happening with three kids in tow and a cold wet rain. Once we got into a room, things improved. We loved the location - it just should not have been so difficult to get our room. We would likely stay again or recommend this location to a friend, but the hour and one half it took to get in was a total drag. Read more

Overall, our accomadations met our expectations. The rooms were clean and well supplied. We did have to call for extra towels, but we received them within the day. We were somewhat confused by check-in; however, that was easily taken care of by a telephone call. I was disappointed by confusion with lift tickets. We found a great price online and told our reservation advisor about this deal, at which time he confirmed that he could get us the same deal. I recall his words to be "let me know when you get here", which i understood to mean that we could get the same rate through our reservation group for lift tickets. however, it wasn't that way. we were told that we should have given a five day notice that we wanted the lift tickets to get the cheaper tickets. no information via email was ever sent to advise us of a five day reservation deadline. that was a huge upset and will certainly consider the rental of property from this group the next time we decide to stay in telluride. We are pleased to hear that the condo worked for you, but I am sorry to hear about the confusion with your lift tickets! The ski area has restrictions on when and how we are able to package discounted lift tickets with our lodging. For future stays, we can package lift tickets during non-peak times, and we need to purchase them about a week before arrival. We hope you are able to come and visit us again.
