If you want to hang out near downtown and have a two block walk to the gondola, you can't beat this location. You can see the New Sheridan from your porch. The only downside is the House needs some more renovation. The living area including TV is small. The shower/bathtub in the upstairs bedroom is very weird and difficult to get into. Read more

We liked it so much we reserved Elk's Park House again for next year. It was very comfortable for friendly visiting and eating while the bedrooms and bathrooms were still private -- good room arrangement. The mountain-funky decor and furniture added to the enjoyment. Its central (for Telluride Film Festival) location was great for our two somewhat limited disabled members. Heating was comfy, but it would have been nice to be able to open some screened bedroom windows. Office staff was responsive when we called with questions or needs. Parking space was too small for pick-up truck. See you next year. Read more

Great location and beautiful condo
Left on 08/01/2013 for a stay in July 2013 | Randy
We loved the condo and its location. The spectacular great room was very comfortable and the kitchen quite nice. The extra apartment was very useful as friends of ours stayed there with their 8 year old girl in complete privacy for a couple of days. The only complaint we had was that the upstairs bedroom in the main building got rather warm at night even with the windows open (no air conditioning). This made it hard for our two girls to get to sleep. But by the morning, they were freezing! Read more

Thank you for your review and your feedback. We will look into possibly putting in a fan in the upstairs bedroom.

Great location for town activities/close to the Gondola
Left on 07/23/2013 for a stay in July 2013 | Texas Mother
This is a great location right in the center of town if you want to be in the middle of things. The Friday Farmer's Market is just outside the door (go early to buy as many things sell out quickly, especially pastries). The Gondola to Mountain Village is a short two block walk.
The down side is that you don't get the feeling of relaxation to us by being in such a busy location. There was loud music across the street until 2:30 a.m. one night, so as long as you want to be where the action is, so to speak, this is the place for you.
The house - no ice maker,so many light switches in many rooms with no labels and we never did remember how to turn on some lights or figure out what many of the switches were for; the furniture in the living room is faded due to the strong sun through the large windows with no window treatment - one sofa had an ill-fitting slip cover, but overall the seating looks a bit shabby. There is no door on the upstairs bedroom and the write-up didn't mention that it is a loft bedroom, which is a huge oversight in our minds. Because the sun comes up so early and is so bright, our son staying in that bedroom woke up very early because it is a loft bedroom with all the light coming in from the living room downstairs.
The third bedroom is separated from the main unit by an outside patio. There is no vent or window that can be opened in the bathroom that is part of that bedroom area so it got very stuffy and uncomfortable. A bit odd to have one bedroom separated by having to go outside.
Telluride was having a heat wave when we were there and we found it very odd that somehow the floor in the two downstairs bedrooms was giving off heat. Don't know if that was from the restaurant downstairs that is closed or what, but it made the bedrooms very, very hot at night even with a fan blowing on blast all night.
Nice property but needs some repairs and updating. Seemed a bit overpriced for what you get, but you pay for the central "downtown" location. Read more

Great review! Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly take them all into account and address the issues that we can with out having to involve the owner too much. This unit is for sale so there may be some changes that can be made once the new owner takes over. Otherwise, guests seem to really enjoy this Telluride home.

A great week in Telluride (Christmas week). Elks's Park House is in the heart of Telluride. Convenient to everything. Didn't need the car once we arrived. The "House" was very cozy. All the amenities were up to date. Needed a toaster and wine glasses to get started, but Telluride alpine Lodging worked it out. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Only issue was late night noise from people passing by at all hours outside the attached bedroom. Mid week maid service was nice. Read more

This property was absolutely perfect for our group of 7 women. The condo was very clean and cozy with plenty of room for all of us. The location was fantastic!! It was within an easy walk of everything...restaurants, bars, shopping, gondola, Blues & Brews festival, bakery, food market, hiking trails, etc. We would definately stay here again and I highly recommend it. The only minor thing that it could use would be a full length mirror somewhere in the home. There is a bit of local noise at night but it really wasn't a problem at all. Other than that it was perfect. Read more

Excellent location right in the center of Telluride. Very clean unit, the furniture and TVs were a little more dated than some of the other units we have stayed at in Telluride. There was an issue with the unit due the owner not communicating with Telluride alpine Lodging about some work that was taking place at the unit. Once we alerted Telluride alpine Lodging of the situation they very quickly responded and gave us several options that all involved giving us a partial refund. We came up with our own option that TaL quickly approved and it involved an even better finical deal that also kept things logistically very simple for us. We can not say enough about TaL and their timeliness and flexibility when dealing with a situation. Thanks, it was a great vacation and we will defiantly be back to Telluride and book through TaL. We absolutely loved Elk's Park House. The interior was very tastefully decorated, very comfortable and the location was ideal; close to the gondola, close to downtown, Fat alley right across the street, basically in the middle of everything!
We stayed with friends and their 2 kids and we had 2 of ours with us, so a total of 8 people. There was plenty of room and the "detached" bedroom was perfect for the 4 kids.
Telluride alpine Lodging was incredibly quick to fix a small issue, service was great.
The only improvements I could suggest would be a hot tub on the deck and possibly upgrading a few of the mattresses. But even those factors do not detract from it overall.
We really enjoyed this unit. We will definitely stay there again! Read more

We stayed here for a bachelor party weekend, needless to say we had a blast. Close to everything in town, the Gondola to get to mountain village, and everything else. The place was in really good shape (a few broken items but nothing abnormal for a rental). The only complaint was that if was about 95 degrees in the house when we got there, but we opened the doors and windows to the cool mountain air through. Over all a great place to stay. Read more

We loved this condo. The space was beautiful, and the location was perfect for our needs. Only critiques: No shades in upstairs bedroom makes sleeping past dawn difficult. We had four adults and three small children staying in the condo which means we produced lots of trash daily. Two trash pickups over a 10 day stay was not nearly sufficient. Other than that, it was great! Read more

Our group of seven adults from all over the United States came for the Jazz Festival. We were thrilled with Elks Park House, a very unique condo. Lots of windows (even in the ceiling) all with spectacular views of the mountains. Fully equiped kitchen (we cooked meals all three days and even had a party with DJ's from New Orleans, Denver, and San Diego) that had everything you could need. With a dining table that seats 8, several sofas, gas fireplace, and lots of sleeping privacy for couples and singles, we were all extremely comfortable. My husband and I had the separate room on the other side of the balcony that provided a "great escape" from our group. The two best things were the location which was right in town overlooking the little town park where the free Jazz started at 10am. We listened to live music with all the windows open while we had breakfast! It was walking distance to the Festival Park, the riverwalk, the gondola (free rides), and all the shopping, galleries, and nightlife. The free shuttle picks you up out front, but we never used it! Second best thing was the ambience with all the antiques, handcrafted furniture, rugs, and artwork...really felt like you were "borrowing" someone's home! Great! Thanks! Read more

This was so much better than a hotel!! As a group of 9 recent college graduates, this was the perfect place for the Mountainfilm Festival. nice but problems
Left on 02/11/2009 for a stay in February 2009 | Virgina Family
I enjoyed the property; the layout was nice and the location could not have been more convenient. However there was a major electrical issue; every night when the restaurant below the unit started up the dinner hour, a breaker would trip and we would be without power in one bedroom and one bathroom. Maintenance responded quickly, but the problem was larger than would the maintenance person could deal with. They would reset the breaker only to have it immediately trip again. This situation would persist until the restaurant closed for the evening, late at night. This serious issue needs to be corrected before the unit is rented out again. Also, it would have been nice if the rental company took it upon themselves to do snow/ice removal in the designated parking spots; I scraped up the undercarriage of my rental vehicle due to the mound of ice and frozen snow blocking the entrance to the designated parking area.
