The only property in Telluride spread over five acres in a park-like setting! Being in town, and so close to skiing, makes it a great place to stay.
Bedding: Queen bed, Bunk beds, 2 twin day beds. The art and decor of this condo will take you back to Telluride 1977. And the extra little bedroom for the kids means you can stay up late with wine and fondue without disturbing them, and they can get up in the morning and watch cartoons without disturbing you.
You enter the unit from the 2nd floor interior hallway. On this level, there is a child’s room (glorified walk-in closet) with bunk beds. Go upstairs a half-flight to the kitch...en, dining and the living room. In the living room you'll find a TV with DVD, stereo, and 2 twin day beds (L-shaped layout). The dining area seats 4. Southwest windows bring in the light and a sliver of a view of the lower Milkrun ski run.
Upstairs from the kitchen is the bedroom with a queen bed and TV with DVD player. The bathroom is also located on this floor with a shower and a tub and is accessible from the hall. This condo does provide complimentary wireless internet.
Laundry facilities are available on premises. Parking is in the lot on site. There is an outdoor hot tub and indoor hot tub plus steam room on the south side of the complex, near the HOA Office.
The grocery store is adjacent to the complex. Just across the street to the south is the San Miguel River and base of Lift #7 (Coonskin Lift). The free in-town shuttle has stops on both sides of the block.Historic downtown Telluride is 5 blocks away, making it a 10-15 minute walk to shopping, restaurants, and live music (in season). The Town Park and festival main stage is another 3 blocks further.

This place is great for the price in Telluride. A little dated but very comfortable and has most everything you'd need. Only complaint is that only one burner worked on the stove, didn't try the oven. Read more

Thanks for your review. The stove burner issue surprises me, as we had ALL the burners replaced in May2014. So I'll definitely look into that.
Not two bedrooms

This condo looked like something some frat boys bought and decorated in 1970 and haven't updated since. No air conditioning and the "second bedroom" was literally the laundry room. Most of it was falling apart. Not recommended. Read more

Thank you for your review. Yes, this condo is straight out of the 70s, *as advertised.* And it is sold as a 1-bedroom "plus child's room" at no additional cost -- a place to put the tikes down and shut the door, without paying for a 2nd bedroom. The condo has been kept up - new appliances, paint, furniture, electronics as needed, not remodeled. I hope that is clear. Because for many, that's all that is needed. We do manage other more-recently built or remodeled properties, so if that is your expectation, I'm happy to steer you to what you like.
Close to lifts, has what you need, but far from perfect
Left on 03/27/2014 for a stay in March 2014 | Mike
The condo was roomy and clean and had nice bedding. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. The place is close to the lifts and was very clean, but has likely not been updated for at least 10-15 years and it shows. The shower door barely would open, but it was a combo tub which was nice for the kids. The electronics in the house were pretty dated, don't be expecting to hook up any devices with an hdmi or USB cord. The free wireless was also pretty weak in the unit. Finally, we were pretty annoyed the owner doesn't let you use the ski locker in the hallway, so your gear must be put in the condo. Read more

Thank you for your review. We'll work on that shower door; I think the track needs replacing. As for electronics, I will pass this on to the owners as good things to give attention. Much of the décor is indeed as it was in 1979, as you noticed. But that's no reason to overlook useful amenities.
Sorry about the ski storage. The other thing this unit lacks in in-condo washer/dryer, but at least that's available in the complex's laundry room.

Convenient and cozy ski accommodations

We always enjoy staying at Telluride Lodge. Although this unit is a little more dated than others, it was still clean and comfortable. We love being able to walk across the street to the lift each ski morning. It is well furnished and works well for our family of four. Telluride is one of our very favorite places and especially where we kick off the holidays!! Read more

So glad you could enjoy the holidays with the family in Telluride once again. Yes, we call this condo The Time Machine - it still has so many little 70s things (like the colorful mobile of skiers in the stairwell.)
Remember that our returning guests receive a 10% discount on their stays (unless you find an even better deal in our eNewsletter that you will receive, or can sign up for.)

Great condo, needs some updates

When you walk in, for the price you are paying, you expect all the bells and whistles. The layout is great, you walk into the stairway up, bunkbed room on the left. Up the stairs is a living area with very comfy chairs, a full kitchen, table for 4, and sleeper built-ins that really entertained the children as all of the cushions can be used to make forts. Another stairway leads up to a good sized bedroom and bath. Both the bathroom and kitchen are really in need of updating. The dresser in the bedroom drove me insane, as everytime I opened the drawers they came off the runners. Please fix that! Carpeting is on the newish side, and the windows can be opened to get a nice breeze, but there is no airconditioning. I would gut the bathroom, and update the kitchen, both are stuck in the 80's. Unit is roomy and comfortable, but don't expect impressive. Location next to river and goose line are awesome. Laundry is a bit far, and make sure you have quarters and soap as the facility does not provide on site. We asked the cleaning service and she gave us some, though. We never got to hot tub, but there is one close. Read more

Thank you for submitting your review, with many useful details. The price on this condo is a small step up from the cost of a hotel room, so is one of the best values available. Festival and Holiday rates are considerably higher, simply due to demand. But the location is key, then, being right in the town of Telluride.
We'll be able to repair the dresser drawer runners, but not sure what will happen with kitchen and bath as long as they remain functional -- they are firmly stuck in a time warp. 8-)
7/18/13 update -- I spoke with the HOA about stocking the change machine and vending machine in the laundry room a little better. But you may have to depend on the market next door for detergent.
Comfortable but can be better

Good experience overall

A friend and myself stayed at Telluride Lodge for 3 nights in January. The one bedroom condo was one of Tellurides best values for our requirements (close to a ski lift and full kitchen) The condo was good size with a closet size room with bunkbeds by the entrance. The main level (7 steps up) had the kitchen and living area then 7 more steps up were the bathroom and bedroom. Two complaints about the condo - the furniture was fairly old and dinged up. The kitchen was fully equipped but the cookware (fry pans mostly) were nasty and needed to be replaced. I also thought there would be a fireplace in the condo but it was walled up. All appliances and TV worked fine. One note about the outdoor hot tub - the stairs to get into it are wood and freeze over from the people getting in and out. They freeze very quickly and it is very hazardous getting out of the tub. Management needs to get some rubber mats on these steps to keep them safe. There was also an indoor tub and steamroom which were great.
Overall, I liked the condo and its great location- in town and only about 500 feet to lift 7. I really enjoyed the town and plan on returning to Telluride Lodge in the summer. Read more

What a great review -- useful & appropriate. I'll pass on your feedback about the hot tub steps to the HOA. And with your honest words, we may have a good chance of getting the fireplace replaced with an electric or gas unit.
See you in the Summer!

We wanted something affordable in the 1-2 bedroom range. Location was good, however, the particular unit needed updating. The bunk bed that we splept in was in a tiny converted bathroom and creaked very loudly. It was scary sleeping in bottom bunk for fear of top bunk collapsing every time person above moved, the bed seemed very unstable. Additionally, one guest kept his luggage under the bunkbed for the 5 day stay, when he got home he found bed bugs in his luggage.
Luckily, the rest of the group had luggage in living room and so far have not noticed bed bugs. Read more

This unit is affordable for Telluride. The child’s room that you are referring to is a bonus considering that this unit is sold and priced as a 1 bedroom. I would suggest upgrading to a silver rating if a newer remodeled unit is what you are looking for. As far as the bed bugs we hired a professional to be sure the unit is rid of the pest.
If coming to Telluride in the future please allow us to find a more suitable unit for your stay, we have many properties with units ranging from Bronze to Platinum. TAL

A family of four stayed at the lodge #534 between Christmas and New years. I must say that Telluride is a winter setting town. The mountain range dominates the landscape. My disapointments with the trip, the housing. #534 is very low budget when it comes to its furnishings (Dishes, bed clothes, furniture). The room service is excellent with towels on demand. Power went out in town for about 2 hours and there is no other provisions for heat when that happens. The last item is that no sooner than we arrived the lady next door knocked and told us to hold the noise down. We were just unloading our bags. Going to have to find a differant place next time. I am very sorry about the lady next door. She is an owner that lives here and the previous guest to your stay were college students that kept her up all night. Please contact Telluride Alpine Lodging when you are ready to return and I am sure that we can accommodate your needs with the many properties that we manage.
