We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Mountainside Inn. Chris at Telluride alpine Lodging helped me secure a room at the best price, and he took time to answer all our first-time guest questions about air travel, weather, and transportation. He also got us a great rate on the Mountain Limo shuttle from Montrose airport.
We were very happy with our large, lovely room and referred to it as "home" during our week's stay. We made use of the kitchen's nice dishes, stove, toaster oven, coffeemaker, dishwasher, and large fridge to save money. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a nice window seat. Being used to Florida, we were worried about the lack of aC, but the windows and two table fans kept us cool.
The Mountainside Inn has a nice hot tub we enjoyed when it was covered and warm. Parking is limited, but a car isn't necessary within Telluride. If you travel by car, taking a short walk to park it elsewhere is no big deal.
I would caution travellers that the front desk at Mountainside Inn is not like most hotels. When we arrived, the office staff had stepped out, and we didn't see access to a public restroom. We had shipped a package to arrive at the main office, which delivered it to the Mountainside Inn office. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't sure where it was, so we had to wait until someone from the main office was out of a meeting to instruct the staff. In a rush to check out, I asked the desk staff if they could mail postcards, but they didn't have mail delivery and referred me to other nearby locations. Overall, these were very minor inconveniences that did not ruin a good experience, but adjust your customer service expectations slightly to meet a more casual front desk and general laid-back mountain summer schedule.
We'd definitely recommend staying at Mountainside Inn. We were happy to walk, or take the city bus from the stop nearby, to get where we wanted to go. We were comfortable and got the rest needed to have a great vacation.Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 09/10/2012

We try our best to be available to our guests at all times. We do have a restroom that guest's can use, and it is located in our housekeeping office. Of course if one of our staff had stepped out of the office a guest wouldn't be expected to know this, but we try to be there for our guests as much as possible. I love being right nest to the mountian. Walk to the Coonskin Lift and ski down for lunch and at the end of the day!

We were very suprised that the Inn was slopeside! Our unit had been updated, which was a plus. All the bedding was comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. The front desk lady was very nice. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed with my wife and 6yr. old daugther for a few days skiing. The room was very comfortable and clean (nothing too fancy), just right for us. Kitchen worked great for us as we brought the food we needed for breakfast and dinner. Lifts are close by, and the Telluride vibe and ski area are fantastic. Great trip.

This was a great location and easy access to everything we wanted to do. The staff was very friendly. The units were good and expected for the price. Our particular unit looked like it was recently updated. It was great for us and our two pets.

This room was a great deal in the off season. We had a nice stay and enjoyed the amount of space we had in the kitchen and living room areas. It's a good location too. There was construction on site, but it didn't bother us. I would recommend this affordable lodging to families.

We had a awesome stay at the Mountainside INN! If you in Telluride for the
skiing this is the place. We had a one bedroom condo, it was spacious and the
kitchen was well equip. Ski in/Ski out, only 10 mins to the gondola, close to
all points in town, and quite affordable, a skiers dream.
Two issues. One, the construction directly next door. It was a pain walking
by all the loaders and bobcats in the morning, and its seems they didn't plow
around the site, it made for bumpy glacier ice, which we had to walk on every
time we left. I hope the Inn is getting a huge kickback from them for the crap
their making their guest go through. I am sure the construction will be done
soon enough.
Last, No Bellman?! Got to have at least one bellman during the week, come
on! We had to carry out stuff through the ice and snow and up a flight of

We loved the room we stayed in. It was comfortable and had all the amennities we needed. The only downfall was the bed. It was very hard. I would recommend the Telluride Alpine Lodge to anyone traveling to the area. The staff was very nice and helpful.
